SAVE A LIFE

ad

Hi guys,

DEFINATLY NO KARMA!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today is a good day to be kibby.
In 2012 I was found to be a match for someone to donate bone marrow to. In 2013 the donation went ahead.
Since then it's always been in the back of my mind if it was successful or not so a few months ago I asked if I could find out.

Today I received a letter from Antony Nolan telling me the patient was last seen in june 2016 and was Basicly given the all clear!!!!!!!

This cost me NOTHING. And it will cost you NOTHING as the charity pay for everything involved......
Food
Travel
Hotel
Time off work.

What I'm trying to get across is find out if your a match for someone....imagine if it was your child,or wife ect you would beg the devil for help.

Tha fact is you wouldn't need the devil you someone who can be arsed to just take the test.

Stay safe guys and have a fantastic weekend....I definitely will

Tell us how it went?
Ive heard that being a marrow doner used to be a painful experience but it's not too big a deal any more.

Were you a steroid user at the time?

Ok brother here goes.........

I first had to give a saliva sample, they were doing this at the gym I was using at the time. Then roughly 6 months later I received a letter telling me I'd been narrowed down to a possible match along with 4000 other people lol.

The next letter I received was to ask if I could give a blood sample. I could go to my gp or they would arrange a nurse to come to me if it was easier.
The blood sample confirmed I was the best match for the patient so then I had to go to London to the hospital I would be donating at and give more blood and go through a medical to make sure I was healthy enough to donate.

After I was given the all clear I had to sign some forms and agree to donate and then the patient could start treatment immediately.

In the week leading up to going to donate a nurse came to my house and gave me 3 injections to force my body to produce more white blood cells. This made my bones feel like they were trying to break themselves (horrible feeling).

Then it was on the train to London go and donate give one more blood sample and the next morning I was Basicly put on a dialysis machine for 8 hours.

They got 10× the amount they needed so I didn't have to donate the second day. (Major bonus)

I'm not going to lie it fucked my body for about 2-3 weeks just felt like shit and very fluey but it was all worth it ;)

That is indeed a noble act. Maybe no karma here but definitely worth some good karma in real life. Thank you for caring about your fellow human being! Respect.

More people should be willing to help in this way. Donate blood, an organ, money or just your time to something you feel strongly about. Im glad you did this Kibby. We meed more positive stories out there. Not just on eroids.
