+ 23 Power of prayer

ad

After reading @UncleYoked post about the past and older guys on here.. I thought about Makwa and a few others who were great dudes and became friends with.

I read recently that Makwa has had some health issues and I added him to my prayer list. I realized tonight, we are all a little bit broken some way, some how.. broken world and broken people. Thankfully we have a King who through his work on the cross and the blood shed, we are free.. Isaiah 53:5…

Thinking deeper on scripture, on the power of prayer and our father. I want anyone going through something, anything. Big, small or world changing. Post in the comments and let me know how I can pray for you. How can I pray for peace and wisdom for you. Or just pray for anything for you. Share as little or as much as you want. Let me pray for you. My DMs are open too, if it’s something you’re struggling with and don’t want it in the open, I’m here. I’m broken myself, there is no judgement.

I know I got a lot of shit for my last post about Jesus our king. But I want to let you all know I’m here.

Big man. Never be afraid to share your beliefs, religious or not. The best thing we can do while we’re here is to lift others up. Respect.

With all the stuff going on in the world today I find myself seeking God more than ever. And your right we are all broken in some kind of way, and society tries to put us in a box especially some of us who have made mistakes in the past. But through Jesus Christ we are forgiven. Whatever source, energy, God you believe in. Forgiveness and acceptance go a long way - the power of prayer, especially a community or group of people coming together to pray has a lot of power. Thanks for making this post OP

It’s nice to see a resurgence of religion in western Civilization, ironically, Catholicism is having huge headway. A recent study showed that there are now more Catholics vs Anglo Protestants in England.

(Source: https://thecatholicherald.com/article/catholics-set-to-exceed-anglicans-...)

I believe the new generation has a yearning for traditionalism and know there is something greater than what’s on this earth. I have always been a “Catholic”, but never really took it seriously until a year or so ago. I definitely do not believe everything within its guidance and dogma, but I respect the institution and hope to see it spread and prosper.

MAJOR RESPECT BROTHER!!!!!
We do live in a time where everyone is broken to some degree. I'm one of them. I know there's so many more people that have way more hurt and pain than I do....Let's pray for them....let's pray for humanity to find some peace and harmony so we all heal collectively.
You're a REAL MAN for stepping up like this bro! God bless you!!!!!

I was one of them that gave you a hard time on your other post but thats because I like to question everything and probe around for reactions. I do believe in God though.
I will tell you what God helped me with. I lost my little brother to suicide 6 years ago it has been very hard on me and family members. I put that in so you understand what I just went through, one of the hardest days of my life.

On 2/10/2026 my best friend calls me up late at night. I was not going to answer the phone because I was ordering some food and chatting with the window clerk but something told me to answer the phone so I did.
He had recently gone through a divorce after 15 years of being married. He moved two states away from me because at the time the wife was doing school. He couldn't find a job so all of this built up. He got divorced, no job, got in a situation with another girl he thought was good and all.... Well back to the phone call, I answered it and I could tell something was off and wrong when i started to talk to him. He called me to say goodbye, he then tried to take his own life with me on the phone. I did everything I could to talk him out of it but he would not listen. So all I could do is pray and beg for help while everything is going on. My friend then hangs up. I called his brother in law, exc to go find him, his brother lived just 30 minutes away from him.

Forwarding to the next day, my friend tells me he tempted God, and said God if you don't want me to take my life, then dont let me see any deer on my way back home. There are deer everywhere there, during the day, night, morning, evening you always see them. That night he did not see even one deer the whole way back home.
All of this on top of what has happened in my own life, really destroyed me, I was a wreck for several days after this, nerves, emotions, exc... All I could do is pray and ask for help and ask what to do. My friend continued to struggle and I would pray for him and ask how can I help him. To make this all short, I talked with him every single day.

Then all of the sudden a miracle happened a month and half later. God said, he will be working with you. My own job is hiring right now just this past week, they dont hire much because people stay there. I was able to get my friend hired on contingent he passes the background and drug test which he will. A very good paying job, my friend will be able to get back on his feet. I spent time with him two days ago since he was out here for the interview, after they verbally offered the job, it's the happiest I have seen him in a very long time. I give all the credit to God for helping me know what to do. This has also helped me mentally and spiritually, my friend was there when I needed him 6 years ago and I was there when he needed me recently. Things are still a little rough for him but it's getting better and I continue to ask God for guidance.
Just know we are here for a reason, your life is important and if you are struggling reach out and get help. I am always here as well if any of you need to chat and I will do the best I can to help you out with your demons. We all have them, we just have to find a way to manage them. I am going to do my best to keep uplifting my best friend and with Gods help I think we will get to where we need to be.
By the way this friend is the one that got me going to the gym and changing my life. He is the one that actually told me about this site and got me looking into gear and researching it. Now I get to communicate with all of you which I am thankful for.

I have never seen this other side of you buddy - I always figured you were just this Hard Arse American Guy who made Sources lives a living hell by Jano testing all of their gear!! Lmfao

I fully understand if you don't want to talk about this mate, but I thought I would ask you and others who may of been through this anyway. But as Life moves as it does for all of us, I realise my father is getting older now and is in turn beginning to encounter some health issues here and there such as something in the past few days. He is the only real family I have, and I am worrying more and more each day now about that inevitable phone call I will one day get out of the blue telling me he has passed away. It's a day that I just cannot imagine happening and a situation I cannot see beyond. What is it really like when an extremely close family member suddenly dies and you find out about it, is it just so shocking that it doesn't seem real and you don't immediately get upset about it or do you go to pieces for a period of time?

My father passed some years back u really never get over it and the pain really never leaves you, you just learn to live with it or some how block it out but very hard especially if u guys are close, press I will pray for you and your father and also I hope u believe and love Christ it doesn’t make things easier actually life will kick u in the balls even harder. I’m sorry u are going through this I hope and wish you all the best.

I will share something else with you as well. My father was drafted into the Vietnam war as a Marine. While he was there he was exposed to Agent Orange. This later in life gave him cancer and when I was 17 he passed away from it. I was able to prepare for that some because the doctors gave us time frames like 6 months to live when they found it but his treatment gave us another year and a half.
When it comes to the brother, it was quick and sudden and yes the shock of it all. At first you don't know how to act or what to do or if it's even real. It takes several days for the reality to click in and then it's the emotions. With him I would be sad one day, fall apart crying and then angry the next day and always asking the question why? When it comes to suicide, it's not the person who does it that suffers, it is everyone that is left behind that loved and cared for that individual. In a way I also lost my mother because ever since that day, she has not been the same.

There is only one thing that will help you overcome the day you lose your father and that is time. The love from friends and family members, and your belief in some sort of after life will help that time be easier. Cherish the moments you have now with him and keep memories. Have him tell you stories about his life and all and record them. With time it gets easier but you will always miss them. There are days that hit harder than others where I just wish I could pick up that phone and call or send a text. The only thing that really helps is I remember we are here for some reason and when that time is up, I will see them again that day. I know for the most part my father and brother would want me to just enjoy life and not worry about them. There will be a day I will see them again. I usually don't share this part of my life because it's difficult and also sacred in a way. I want to be that tough guy and not caring exc. but in reality, I too have real life events and struggles. It is how we grow and learn and through those experiences you can help others stand up and walk when they need it.

That must be seriously tough losing your Dad at 17 buddy, right at the age where you are old enough to know exactly what's happening and what is going to happen soon, and still very much attached to your parents if you are still living with them. I'm really not sure in life whether its best that things like this just happen all of a sudden and you have no time to dread it happening, or whether its good to know you still have time left with each other to do all the things you still want to do together - to make more special memories you can cherish and remember. Personally for me I think if I knew I only had 6 months left with him then all I would do is feel sad and dwell on what is inevitably coming - I just wouldn't be able to get it out of my head. During times of happiness I would still have in the back of my mind what is going to happen and there is nothing I can do about it.

Then again though with past members on here like Kibby, Bill and Izzy I can remember all of my final PM's with them on here and things that were said, just seemed like any other PM where you expected to be speaking again in the next 24 hours like normal. With ALL of them I wish I now knew what was about to happen and I could of made those conversations better and more meaningful.

I imagine that Suicide is extremely upsetting to go through, because like you say it eternally affected all of you and the devastation it must cause a mother to feel losing her child before she dies herself must be very hard. It reminds me of an old school friend of mine who about 10 years ago hung himself, he left behind a younger brother, mother and father both still married to each other. Every single time my Dad spoke to her he said she is just not the same woman anymore, like she is permanently on sedatives 24 hours a day to deal with it all. Even more horrific is that only about 5 years later she then died of cancer so only the younger brother and father are now alive.

Respect for this, brother … takes guts to put that out there.

Prayers up for Makwa and anyone going through it… we all fight our battles in silence more than people think. Appreciate you opening that door for the community.

Faith is important. If we didn’t have faith we never would’ve made gains, we were gainsless but believed we can, kept the faith going and then booom. Funny analogy but I think life is a lot harder without faith
