Opiates and Long term damage
ad
Yes I ask alot of questions. lol
Being an addict. Been off the blue devils for 2 years. Been off suboxone for 2+ years. I'm wondering if a long addiction (span of a few years.I honestly don't even know when it all started) to vicodin can cause long term test decline.
To clarify, I know the addiction got real bad once my mother died but I used casually and more and more frequently before I lost my mom. when I started using casually. I have no idea.It was a long time before that.

Suboxone is the devil try to get off it. for me kicking subs was worse than dope
GearofWarDitto. I had it easier kicking H than these fuckers. If only I'd been told the truth before I committed to a Bupe program. Oh well though. It's kept me off of EVERYTHING else for 2 years now anyways.
breakingfaceAfter years of opiate abuse my test came back 640 (200-1200) range. Im 27. However , i do feel like my past use left me with many symptoms close to that of low T.
GearofWarI'm on subox now. I've been on all opiates including the H-Bomb for extended periods of time. I'm on TRT thanks to Suboxone. I've done tons of research regarding the HPTA and how it pertains to opiate use and abuse. Everything I've read says that Test levels will return to "normal" after discontinuation. Of course no one can get a solid answer as to exactly how long it takes, but just as we know everyone's different so, YMMV. I know that when I was totally clean for a short whe my test levels were definitely back up to "normal" operating range. Bloodwork verified this as did my libido and mood.
I kick myself every day for now getting labs done before my cycle. I will never know what normal was for me. Good luck with the sub treatment. It def saved me from the falling into a darker hole. I won't lie, I had a tough time getting off it but I dealt with it and am so glad I did it. I never thought I would. I would do fine all day then night red around, and restless leg kicked in and I would crawl out of my own skin. Doc gave me seroquil so I could go into coma lol. That shit kicked my ass.
So back to the question. I you don't think it did long term damage to you? Are you on TRT because you are on sub?
GearofWarYes. TRT due to CURRENT use of Buprenorphine.
waltri remember reading somewhere that opiates can cause a drop in testosterone in the body and increased estrogen, a google search would probably bring up some relevant info about it
What would define as casual? Probably a little different but when my dad passed! I needed one a night to sleep!!! For probably a year!
needing them to sleep is a problem. I define casual as having some beers on the weekends and popping a few. weekends led to weekdays, weekdays led to every 4 hours to stop withdrawal symptoms.
