No Money in Fitness
In the past 7 yrs that i been training, I became passionate about this life style and fitness. Although im still striving to become a professional athlete or an olympian (which im along way away), I'm starting to discover that there is no money in fitness. Because i love this so much, i decided sign up a personal training certification (NFPT), and i have recently found out that the average personal trainer in my area gets paid around $10/hour which is absolutely nothing in my eyes because I'm currently making alittle more then double of that.. As curiosity goes, i looked into body building, which i have found that only the top of the top pros actually make money off lying and wearing those supplements t shirts. I have came to conclusion, you can live fitness but u cant live off of it unless your a professional athlete ..kinda of a let down, i thought there would be more ways..
kinda of takes me to that movie ,pain and gain, time to go kidnap some rich drug dealer

It's either become a stripper/gigolo or come up with yet another bs line of supplements. "Androgenic 50000" take a tab a day and become a beast! meanwhile the tabs are filled with pancake mix and icing sugar. If you fill the tabs in Utah, gov doesn;t check what's in the tabs. That's why most supplements mixed in the U.S. are packaged in Utah
AnonAt 23 if you had been anything remotely special a college scout would have probably seen you a long time ago . There are people who get paid to find talent you know. Time to decide if money will dictate your passion. or childish dreams stay at the forefront. Hopefully some happy compromise of both.
It's all aboout fiding a niche. That's the reason we see a new contraption on T.V. infomercials every other day. Something unique....something that other people aren't doing.
Crossfit came onto the scene a couple years ago----now we have all these idiots jumping on boxes and lifting barbells with big plates that don't really weigh anything.
Tough mudder
Zumba
I'm waiting for some type of "Freeway Crossing" routine to eliminate some of the dweebs.
Captain DickMcL...LOL....that should be a poster in every hardcore gym.
They charge £33 an hour at my gym if you want a personal trainer!? That seems a lot to me, the gym takes most of that tho. Think the PT gets £11 on top of hourly rate.
there are some areas, in nutrition and if you are a registered dietician you can make decent money
BigBmajThat's why I posted the "got the body now what?" I'm feeling the same way. I pour my heart into this shit and I would love to make money doing something with it.
I'm NASM certified and I do nutrition consultations but still doesn't pay the bills where I live these days. It did in Florida.
SeaHawkIve followed a local pro for a few years. He's bright, friendly, an extremely knowledgeable . Watching his personal training business fall apart really enlightened me to how difficult it is to turn a profit in fitness.
