new privacy settings by google,

ad

I am not sure if any of you are aware of the setting changes that took place today by google but I want to give these guys a heads up on whats going on here. google now tracks what you have searched using all of their products such as Picasa, Blogger, FeedBurner, RightsFlow, Zagat, Android, and of coarse Youtube, Google plus and GMail. then compiles this information to choose better targeted advertisement based on the things you have searched. saving everything! for the average joe who spends his time searching recipes to perfect his sweet potato casserole this is not a bad thing. but for the average gear head who is searching for a lot of let say things that need not be recorded this may be a bad thing. so i am going to paste a step by step on how to prevent this from happening to you guys. click the link below.

Yahoo does the samething, which is why it is unwise to correspond with steroid sources using them. they place ad related advertisments according to your mail and searches. Scary thought that there is a virual paper trail that leads to you!

Good info. When they implemented this I stopped using all google products including their search engine.

its hard to go day by day without using at least one of Googles holdings, so i just shut off my settings to where it could not track me.

I read your link and it helped a lot. I have a question though. I thought you might be able to help. When I went to google and pulled up my history it has things from months back. It gives the option to edit and delete each search one by one. It would take forever. It didn't give me the option to clear history. I'm on my phone though. If I use a computer will I be able to clear it all at once or will have to sit here for days deleting searches one by one. I changed all my settings so it would stop saving them, but clearing it is ridiculous. I just thought you might know.

i left my history due to their privacy policy isn't supposed to start recording your clicks until today, but there are always tricks to that they may use past searches. but as far as i know today is the day they start. i guess i will know if there is a targeted add in my right corner that has a help clinic to get of gear.
