New Pearl Jam record

ad
I dont know how many of you are rockers like me but you should def check out the new Pearl Jam record. The song "Sirens" will go down as one of Eddie Vedder's best ...it has the feel of the 10 album

Pearl Jam was always a strange band for me.....their good stuff was absolutley phenomonal...and their other stuff was like WTF???
Great band though.

i completely agree...it seems from the lyrics that he's a very deep dark person in ways which was expressed through his music for better or worse nonetheless they are def one of the best bands of our time...

I thought ten was a good album, but I just never really became a huge fan. I was all about AIC and Soundgarden (before they completely sold out). Pearl jam to me was always the softer more hipster sound of the Seattle scene. AIC was dark and heavy. Seeing they all hit in my late teens I definitely identified with that.

I love all those bands you mentioned....what do you mean soundgarden completely sold out?

Pale's picture

Now if we are talking the best bands of " our" generation. X ya'll, I am going with Tool, followed closely by Metallica.

BigJ-roll's picture

Metallica 1st the tool..... Metallica has stood the test of time and they just keep bringing it!

Tool for sure....
Gotta add Foo Fighters to any discussion of great bands.

Gotta give ya that def 2 great bands...i loved the band "Live" and Guns & Roses too Axel Rose was so talented idk what the hell happened to him of and the Foo Fighters are awesome too

If Axl wasn't so crazy they would definitely be right there. But then again maybe it is better that they blew their wad on Appetite for Destruction. Let's face it, they were never going to top that album.

Foo fighters, I give Dave Grohl a ton of credit for keeping the faith and rocking into history post Nirvana.

i love the songs Estranged and Civil War i thin they Re from Use Your Illusion I & II..
i never understtod the lyrics of Civil War when i was younger but i sure as fuck get em now

Pale's picture

Civil war is am amazing song, truthfully I always figured somebody like Dylan wrote it and GNR just covered it, but no Axl did write that song.

Pale's picture

Well it is purely opinion but after BMF they went way more pop. Take black hole sun, please! One could even argue that it began after Loud Love. I truly understand how difficult it is for an artist to write good songs and how bored you get with what you have already played a thousand times. Not to mention the pressure a record companies put on the artists to sell. But to me Soundgarden went along a little too easily.

Pale's picture

With that said I will give Eddie and company credit for staying the course with their sound. It wasn't my cup of tea but they never sold out.
