METHADONE

ad

Was just wondering if anyone on this sight is on methadone, i have been on it for 4 years i was a framer and i had a sheet of floor ply droped on me from twenty feet up landed on my shoulder. I was on pain meds for a while but when it came time to get of them i could not so was put on methadone and when on methadone you also are put on hrt because methadone lowers your test levels.

There is some little white tiny sub-lingual pill I got from some site a real long time ago, shipped from Singapore and Thailand, dose was in mcg's. It was not available in the US. It is a miracle for stopping the violence of wd's. Wish I could remember the details and name, but what it came down to was it gave your receptors something to keep them from getting pissed there was nothing there, and it partially blocked the ability for you to use more and have it work well. Taking a few Norco would have a little effect, maybe like your receptors got excited about something on the way, but practically no effect. It was also listed as usable for pain treatment, but that is bullshit.
I did some looking and this is the same med others are recommending in other posts. It had not been approved when I needed it. Suboxone. There was no recommended dose for its use, had to guess and go by internet rumor at the time. Used it as needed for physical symptoms for a few days, and tapered.

subs33's picture

Its .2 mg buprinorphine aka subutex. Overseas they make it at such a low dose. It would be great to have if your weening of bupe(subs)

jprizzle's picture

nevermind did not see your post below I was just saying subutex and suboxone are same thing but with anti-abuse drug added

subs33's picture

Agreed. I should have weened of subs asap. I have been on them for three years. I know a couple of people who weened off but it was a very slow process.

Nitti's picture

I'm curious , what's the difference between the two?

jpal's picture

were you running a cycle while trying to kick it like i am running a test e and eq both at 500mg per week and tapering off my methadone i am at 7mg do you think it will be better to try and come off while on cycle or wait till done cycle to try and come off

subs33's picture

Get you some l-trysosine. It helps your body restore its natural pain killer endorphines

jpal's picture

will do thanks bro

subs33's picture

Agreed, I kiked opiates so many times over the past 15 years. I feel withdrawel was shorter while running test....

I'm actually struggling right now with opiate addiction. To be honest it's been about 5 years on and off with vicodin and percocet. I love the feeling..it's gives me pep and makes me feel normal to be quite honest. What's not normal is the attitude jumps I have with myself and others and the withdraw. I go through about 100 vic's in a week now and to be honest I know the time has come to try and wing myself off once more. I did it before using methadone and stayed sober for about a year and a half. Sadly I relapsed one fateful day when I though I was in control and could take a couple a budy gave me...Should have known from the program I was dead wrong. Not only is it a horrible addiction it is killing my liver and makes my gym days slow and sluggish... I know through God and my own self will I'll tango again with sobriety and win the battle. I say battle because I know recovery is a life long process.. but hang in there brother, get off the crap if you can. It doesn't matter if it lowers your testosterone (I am sure it can contribute to lower sex drive) but be good to yourself.

subs33's picture

Brother, if you need someone to talk to I have experianced it all....oxy, methadone any opiate for 15 years. While training aswell. Im currently down to 6mg of bupe, which is still alot but I havent been hi in 3 years...

eastcoastmuscle's picture

vicoden has all the asprin in it, horible on your liver

Beachbdygrl's picture

It has acetemetaphine in it, not aspirin. He also stated he is fully aware it is killing his liver. He has an addiction and it's going to take a lot more than someone pointing out how it's effecting his body to stop. Recovery is a battle that never ends. It's a disease that last a lifetime. It has to be treated as so. It will only go into remission. It will never disappear.

eastcoastmuscle's picture

didnt see where he said he knew about his liver, but thanks for pointing that out for me big help, just wanted to make sure he did know... thats what i meant acetemetaphine... trust me i know about addiction , i needed to take 30, 30mg roxy a day to function

subs33's picture

Ya, I was up to 3 80's in one dose and bairly was high. That was 8 years ago.

jpal's picture

Sucks bro i know i hope you get clean and do well good luck

Nitti's picture

And yes, it hurt my gains badly!

Nitti's picture

Liquid handcuffs bro! I was on it for 2 years for pain management! I woulda took the pain anyday as apposed to all the medical problems that shit gave me. I got off with a steady taper. At the end I barely felt a thing other than some joint pain. Definitely get off it bro! You don't need it!! If I can offer any assistance, by all means hit me up. I'm totally clean 7 years! Good luck my friend

subs33's picture

Ya, you know why they call it hair ron? Because once you try it youll be doin it from here on out..A little joke I heard while in a 5 day detox center. Kinda scary.

subs33's picture

I kicked methadone twice cold turkey. The first time I was only on it for 3 months. The second time I was on it for about a year. No fun.. Subs are going to be a long drawn out withdrawel. Im takin it one day at a time. Im goin to drop 2mg every 2 weeks

subs33's picture

Yes I have been sober for 3 years. I do take subutex and xanax but i have been on them for three years. I take them like my doctor says and it keeps me straight. Its time to ween off all meds. I get scared thinking about it.

Nitti's picture

Really? Well to be honest, most ppl on it already struggle with addiction right? Opiate dependance? So most of it is mental and for them, they have that fear of being sick by coming off. It's a legit fear but they think themselves into trouble. It can be a little unpleasant, but it's doable. I'm proof. I have the medical records to prove it. I had no fear of the withdraw. In knew it would suck to some extent and I sucked it up. Truth is, dropping it by 2-1/2 mg a week, I didnt feel a thing. Took a while but I did it. Jpal can too!

neobulker's picture

Physical withdraw blows as well. I believe from opiates it last up to about a week. It is also mental, but the bad part is that I have quite a vivid imagination.. :0 Good work on your mindset though, that's where wisdom plants and grows brother.

Nitti's picture

Don't get me wrong, I think I was clear that the fear of physical withdraw is very real and can be among the worst out there. It's probably number 3 on the list behind alcohol and benzodiazapham simply because those can kill you. Opiate withdraw may make u feel like you want to die but it won't kill you. I didn't mean to sound smug. I know it's a very real problem and it takes a lot of courage and support to get by in most cases. I am almost positive (going by what the doc's have said and what users say) I'm one of those rare cases that simply changed my mind and decided I was done. I detoxed with a slow taper againsyt medical advice. I'm sure it's not a walk in the park to just stop. What I was trying to say to Jpal is if I did it , so can he. The manner in which I did it was very painless until the end. And even then it was minimal discomfort. As for you neo, i'm not sure what your reason for using pain killers, but it sounds like you enjoy it. Thats scary! I think you should give it a shot unless they are medically necessary. Steer clear of methadone tho my man.

subs33's picture

Ya,its sux for me cause im on 3mg of xanax a day awell as the bupe. I will kik the bupe first then the benzo's. Easy dose it. We didnt turn into addicts overnight. My respect and props goes out to all who dont have to live out of a bottle.

Nitti's picture

They put me on for pain management. Doc said it would be safer than constantly taking perks. I didn't know what it was really. They bumped my dose up every week because I still had pain. The pain was from severe nerve damage in my leg from bullet fragments. I didn't have an appetite, didn't have motivation for anything, issues with my digestive system, constant nausea. The sides were worse than the reason they put me on it. Once I got arrested for nodding out while standing up on a public street, I said fuck that, thats it, im done!

jpal's picture

i always feel like shit i cant wait till i am off thanks for your supports and comments and i am glad your off and doing good

jpal's picture

Thanks bro should be done within a few months

BFG's picture

Methadone is a fucking trap, getting off of it is your first priority now bro.

jpal's picture

ya i hear ya bro should have never went on it but could not take time off work and with draws were brutal but i am down to 7mg a day now that is really low so a few more months and i will be done after 4 years

supersavage's picture

I'm on hydrocodone and naproxen for tendonitous for almost three years now.I take them at night otherwise my arm swells up and stiffens then of course wakes me up.

jpal's picture
