METHADONE

ad

Was just wondering if anyone on this sight is on methadone, i have been on it for 4 years i was a framer and i had a sheet of floor ply droped on me from twenty feet up landed on my shoulder. I was on pain meds for a while but when it came time to get of them i could not so was put on methadone and when on methadone you also are put on hrt because methadone lowers your test levels.

Bro, if you have to be on something, go from the advice already given and try subs for a bit. I have been on a maintenance dose of bupe for 16 months now after a 6 year opiate addiction that culminated with 400-600mg oxy daily. Good luck boss! It's a tough road, but it seems there are many people here that can help out.

landojacked's picture

No but heard its also used to treat heroin addicts..

LiveAction's picture

I played that game for two years bro! Back injury lead to pain management wich lead to 320 10mg percocets a month. After losing so much to the addiction I decided once and for all to be done. You can't trust an opiate addict and i had become that. I took subs for two weeks and then went cold turkey, it was Hell for two months. But here it is man , my advice ...Man up and deal with the pain and get through it. View your struggle as a test and embrace the pain becuase if you deal with your addiction like a warrior you will come out on the other end as a stronger and smarter version of yourself, not to mention the sense of empowerment knowing you beat the most addicting substance known to man.

Everyone is different and for me personally the lingering cravings were always unbearable and I would get high. The Subs killed my cravings. I could deal with withdrawals (as I did literally almost monthly) but the cravings when I had cash were what was killing me. I have said below, but I am now on subs for chronic pain management with NSAIDs. I dont(can't) get high off of them so it is MUCH better than Oxys and opana shit the docs kept me strung out on.

abman's picture

I totally agree with the substituting 1 drug for another comment. I'm very careful to think about my reasoning for taking any drug these days. Another board I was on, there was a guy doing exactly that. He'd come off gear & was loading up on Test all the time.

abman's picture

Subutex (bupe) is a fantastic drug for getting off opiates, I spk from experience. Didn't want to go on methadone, coz you can still take opiates. Good luck to everyone,
sorting themselves out from that opiate sh!te!

yes , have been for 6 years from an accident also like you , my first cycle I ran , I was taking 60mlg a day by the end went to 10 mlg , and have never felt better getting body back towards shape again , gear will up brain chemical production from what I have heard , and I believe it , was able to cut from 60 to 10 mlg in 3-4 weeks with no ill feeling at all.

Opiate addiction is way more prevalent than anyone could imagine. I had 8 surgeries on different injuries from 2000 - 2009...at the end I was on pain management (which is doctor speak for "getting a patient strung out") and was tired of being high as shit constantly and fighting with my wife. She actually left me (back together now). Got on Suboxone and never looked back. Clean for 3 years. Subs are the best pain management med I have ever taken. Never have an urge to take more than my dose and I am level as hell on them.

kaos364's picture

I am actually in the process of weening off subs myself. Been on for 4 months. Opiates are no fucking joke.. completely destroyed my life and every relationship ive ever had. What a difference it is kicking that shit. good luck to everyone battling opiate addiction.. its hard as hell but it can be done.

subs33's picture

Ween of as soon as you can. The longer you stay on the harder it is. I have been on suboxone/subutex/buprinorphine for three years. My best friend decided to just stay on oxy and domes and xanax. We used to have the same tolerance, well he died last year. So i have to say subs have saved my life, but i wish i tapered off sooner.

SwitzerRulz's picture

You are weaning after only four months?? It took me about 18 months to stop thinking about pills man. If you can do it good for you. I sure hope so!

kaos364's picture

I dont get ANY cravings. Dude i almost lost my life to this shit.. i am done.. i dont think about it. too much to lose.

markymark's picture

Just keep that mindframe bro...I hear ya 110%!! I eventually went to prison because of all that garbage(not done or subs, but the nasty shit)...I pretty much did lose everything but my family. Something happens along the way when eventually in your head I guess you say 'OK, that's enough!!'...time to get healthy again and stay that way!!! Oh yeah...and RUN SOME FIRE ASS GEAR and GET SWOLE!!!...HAHAHA..LMAO!!

Beachbdygrl's picture

It really is. It can happen with out people realizing what's going on. I had 4 surgeries within 9 months a little over a year ago. Through everything that was going on I didn't even realize my body was addicted to the meds. Once I started recovering from all the procedures I couldn't figure out why I felt so bad all the time. My doctor then tried to put me on anti- depressants because being on pain meds so long had killed my body. I refused. I didn't want to fix what one medication did to me by using another medication. I've tried to heal myself with natural remedies and lots of time and patience. It's not the easy way, but I do believe it's the best long term.

SwitzerRulz's picture

Yeah it is the best way really. If I didn't have constant pain I would gladly wean off. I can get by most days with just subs but 2-4 days a week I have to take a few Motrin to help out. I actually tried to wean just down to Motrin or a prescription NSAID, and I felt fine I just couldn't get the pain to a tolerable level without upping my dose again. (it wasn't withdrawal or psychological...I know what those are like.) so I am on 16 mg/day with an extra 8 if I need it each day.

bobbyD's picture

If i could do it all over i would have never gotten on subs.. there just as hard if not harder to get off of than opiates.. pure torture

bobbyD's picture

Im trying to get off the subs now for about 2 months slowly weening down.. it hurts

jpal's picture

i know bro sucks

popeboy1's picture

i use to go to the methadone clinic for 5 years, I have been opiate clean for 7 1/2 years, I came off methadone in jail and it was one of the hardest things ive had to do in my life. I will never go back to that life and i really hope that somewhere down the line you are able to find a way away from it. but I was using test at the time and it helped out tremendously, even though methadone made me constintant crave pumkin cheese cake my weight was incredibly low, it was so bad it looked like I was pissing body fat out everytime i went to the bathroom. good luck with it bra and if you need to talk about it just pm me

jpal's picture

thanks bro means alot

Been there bro, I was an opiate addict for over 8 years, lost so much including spending 9 months locked up and forced into a drug court program. Been clean for 5 years. You can do it too.

DBG's picture

Oh wow...I thought I was one of the few that got fuct up before, I broke all these bones and shit before I was 25, got addicted to pain meds...and then other drugs, went to the joint(WOW!!!SUCKED), and now I am on parole!! Good Times! Nothing gonna get me down anymore though! Gotta think positive and keep the head up!!! That's why I love bodybuilding and everything nutrition and fitness...it takes ALL day, EVERY day and it's POSITIVE!!

Theresultsarein's picture

Wow, from hearing this from you guys makes me closer with yall. Ive been there before too man and felt like I could never get outta the hole. Glad to be away from that road. Im excited to be back into what I loved to do. Its great to have chill people on here that are alike in many different ways. Feel free to add me guys, you can talk about whatever, im one of the most chill guys out there. And be careful coming off that methadone, its one of the worste kicks out there. Gotta come off it very slow. I never was into that but the subs. I know alot of people that did the domes and its hard to get off of.

jpal's picture

ya i have heard it hard to come off i have been droping 2mg a month nice and slow

MAC's picture

Ya I take Suboxone also. Im a year and a half clean off everything from crack to oxys. Its embarresing to say that butnive learned to accept who I once was, when I was on all that shit I wasn't training and certainly wasn't eating right, so this past year just started getting back into AAS/lifting and eating healthy. I love my life now , I have a beautiful girl and a decent job and im happy daily. The mixture of Suboxone and willpower saved my ass big time I've lost a lot of friends to prison and death

mg233680's picture

is it safe to take the subs and AAS? just curious what is your daily dosage of sub bro? you can PM me if you would rather not discuss it publicly man

Nitti's picture

I heard that bro! Been there done it. Did a bid, ruined myself and burned every bridge I had when I was a young buck! I learned the hard way. Glad to see ALL YOU GUYS doing the right thing and getting healthy! I'm sure we were all there in some way shape or form!
+1 for manning up and puttin that out there! Keep it up man!

subs33's picture

I guess you were right..Thier are lots of people who have gone through the same things in life. The most important is that we are clean and were choosing bodybuilding. We are compulsive people so in bodybuilding its all or nothing. Keeping AAS in moderation...Lets keep up the good work.

Nitti's picture

Yes sir! Probably the majority of the guys on this site under 35 been down this road! Thanks for giving me the break down on the subs. I have a relative trying to get it together. Any and all info I can find on this topic I need to soak up.
You too Juicinator! Thanks for the info

jpal's picture

Glad to hear your doing good bro and back in the gym

subs33's picture

I have been on subutex for three years.. It has saved my life. My best friend of 14 years died last year of an oxy and crack od. I have been addicted to opiates for 15 years. I have been sober3 years cause of the subutex, but its time to ween off. I have another friend in the methadone program. Methadone drops natural test levels and is still a dangerous drug. If anybody needs to talk about getting clean send me a pm..

Theresultsarein's picture

Same here feel free to ask me anything and if you need help.

Nitti's picture

Is that where you got the name? lol. Please explain the difference in subutex and suboxone. I was under the assumption they were pretty much the same

subs33's picture

subutex is name brand for a drug called buperinorphine. The Bupe binds to the opiate receptors in the brain and doesnt allow any other opiate (pain killer to bind) so this means you cant get hi. Suboxone is brand name for the same thing exept it has naltraxone in it at a ratio 1:4. 4 being the bupe and 1 being naltraxone. Naltraxone is an opiate antagonist. The company says they put it in thier to detour abuse. The Naltraxone in it is useless. My spelling my be incorrect i will fix later but thats the difference.

subs33's picture

Bupeprinorphine is a partial opiate antagonist. This means it has a ceiling hieght. You cant get high on them. I get generic subutex (bupe). Im weening off and down to 6 mg. I have been clean so long that if I were to do 12mg I could get a sence of well being. Its not worth uping the dose for that. Subs have saved my life but its time to get off. Im tired of living out of a bottle.

Nitti's picture

So when someone takes this route over methadone as a maintenance or a detox, do subutex or suboxone also give withdraw symptoms during the taper?

subs33's picture

If you taper to fast, yes. The best thing to due is if a person was hooked on oxy and switched over to subs. They should stay on the subs as short of a time as possible. I have been on for 3 years. So a very slow taper is what I will have to due.

jprizzle's picture

Im on suboxone right now.have been for almost 2 years. The shit is worse getting off of then oxy and vics

bobbyD's picture

Shit is fucked up rite? I love how the docs dont tell u that shit

jpal's picture

Thanks fellas a few more months then off for good i know i can do it

Nitti's picture

It's tough bro but you can do it! There are other drugs to help with the detox. I've heard of people dropping the methadone all together and getting on a suboxone taper. It Took some courage rto put that out there. Kudos bro. If I can help lmk. I survived it

jpal's picture

Thanks bro means alot
