Lose fat AND build muscle? is it really possible?
ad
Just like the title says is it REALLY possible? I have done carb backloading for months and gained lots of size with very little fat gain, wanted to switch it up and be extremely strict with calories and my macros, I was thinking CARB CYCLING? I train monday, wednesday, friday, saturday. goal is to keep packing on muscle, I have not yet reached my dream size, however I do need to cut down a little, adding two cardio days a week, low intesity, maybe three.

Of course. You touched on it before but I'll go into it a bit for you its really not a difficult concept if you think of it. It is as Nitti say below, recomposition and then some.
Recomposition can mean you don't actually gain any wejght at all bur rather you move weight. Now when we say move weight we are not actually moving muscle or fat from one place to another, its just the effect of what we are doing based on the scale appears that way. Such as, we gain muscle in the chest and lats and shoulders, creating more width, lose waist fat and maybe gain leg size. In some cases it could even be one took thicker legs and harden and strealined them doing more treadmill etc and the legs even lost a little size but ripped and hardened . In the process losing a little muscle in some places, losing fat in all places and gaining muscle in the areas described above that makes us loomk bigger, we are bigger. It is not uncommon at all to come out of a very successful recomp and be 10 lbs lighter but look 20 lbs heavier! This brings me to a point I often make. The mirror is your scale and the scale means nothing. If you do a "bulker" for example, didn't do the proper gym or carb work and came out 20 lbs heavier but look very out of proportion and took on bf was that sucessful? So its prope gum work for this which can mean lighter high rep weight in some areas of the body to streamline and very heavy heavy work with some low weight high rep for blood pumps such as lats, delts, traps, back. This does not give the illusion of "big", it creates big but it does it in the real definition.
So life in the lazy fat USA has changed the definitions of things such as "Big". There was a time Big meant Big and fat meant fat. Now with the PC mentallity fat people say they are big, its a word they can feel better about. Point is, no, I'm big, you're fat....very different things.
So to touch on your point below with increaded cals. All things with the body begin with your own personal metabolic rate. That "personal" rate is why some people gain easy and others cut easy. Myself, I have a rate that allows me to cut very very fast, gain much slower.
So begin all your thougts with "cause and effect". YOU WILL NEVER BEAT THE REALITY OF CAUSE AND EFFECT. Let's begin with that thought and understand something very important so you are not confused or wasting time! Whatever it is you do to achieve your goals, you will then have to continue to do to keep them if you desire to do so. Why? Think to what "causeed" the effect you achieved in recomp. So that work was the cause and the new body is the effect and the second you stop doing what caused it, the effect begins to go away.
So its this....if you added 2000 cals to your 6 meal diet and gained 10 lbs of muscle or even recomped and gained nothing but changed your body, you will then need to keep that extra 2000 cal addition to maintain that change. "Cause and effect".
This is why at a bodybuild comp you see the perfection of a competitior and in 7 days they look like a completely different person. All that they needed to do to get to perfection, "cause", they stopped doing and the "effect" very quickly was gone. Just a single week of falling off diet, cionsuming more salt and less water made the body begin to do what it wants to do genetically and your own metabolic rate took back over and the old you is coming back quick if you don't get back to that which changed you to begin with.
So to close, yes, you can gain muscle and drop fat. You simply change the causes to the effects. What causes fat on the body? Eating fat! Change that!
What cause muscle? High protein, proper know how of how to create protein synthesis at higher rates and more of it (cals)...change that!
So now we cut carbs in the evening to trun off the fat storing properties, increase clean carbs AM to increase ability of protein synthesis, our higher test from gear is driving protein synthsis up, increase those meat carbs to make the protein available for that process, cut out all fat intake and boom....we nolw have no fat to store, plenty of protein , high rate of protein synthesis present and we are doing all the proper gym work to "move weight" here comes the bigger leaner you. Aggain, all "cause and effect" but now we are working with many different areas meaning we change the cause for 10 things giving us the effect we desire in 10 different areas. Thers not one thing you turn on or off in the body to achieve a goal and that's in part because the body bas hormone loops. If you change one thing only, even by changing thyroid only being the driving force of metabolic rate, the body and its hormone loops will find a way to get around that through positive and negative feedback loops. You have to tacKle the goals frolm 10 directions to beat the bodies desire genetically or it will find a way to beat you given its metabolic rate...(all being different).
Tren was mentioned below as ones opinion being the only way to do this but the truth is there are many ways. Yes, tren will increase metabolic rate dramatically and at the same time highly increase the ability for protein synthesis to occur meaning the "ability"? To gain muscle but it is far from the only way tol do it. It is simply tren is doing several of the 10 things I mention above. Thas not to say you can't duplicate those 10 things another way without tren.. "you simply have to know how to do it. "CAUSE AND EFFECT" has to be understood in a real big way with the body and all its sytems to be successful at that over the long haul. Remember, the body is working 24/7/365 tol beat us and our goal?s because it has a genetic footprint of what it wants to be. Its cause and effect abilities NEVER SHUT OFF!.....This means to beat it, we have to be on top of our game in the gym, kitchen and with our gear to overcome its desires.
Simply stop and think with these things, don't just think one direction, think every directio as to your goals. You don't have one goal you have 10. Tale them individually in your thoughts. Such as, if you wish to cut fat do the things you have to do to cut fat. If you also want to gain muscle, do the things you have to do to do that. If you want striation, do what you have to do for that etec etc etc...there is more than one thing going on in the bosy to make the genetic you so you need more than one thing going kn to change the genetic you. Much more to this topic I could go on for days but I hope this begins your thoughts to a direction you can start to achieve.
Keep in mind again, the new you took a lot of work and to keep the new you that work has to continue or you wasted your time.....be sure you are willing to continue all it takes or all was just for shits and giggles and to look good at some point for a few days before returning to old habits. In that sceberio, was it worth it?
The force is strong in this one....
TropicanaJuiceWow thanks man for taking the time to write that, means a lot youve always seem to help when I needed it! Awesome, as far as actually going forth and accomplishing this, what do you suggest? any nutrition gurus on here willing to help? I was thinking carb cycling and running eca type stack because I fear clen will rob too much muscle.
Anonlol..i do feel like a kid around the camp fire when you shoot off tread..god bless you:)
tread-mLol...and tomorrow is scary story day...yippeeeeee! : )
Well let me get my lil tready bear first and make sure i eat some carbs to stay awake for that one..you already know i am not a fan of scary stories maybe we could read a different one??
tread-mOh I have a different story already picked out for you for sure, I call it after hours story time....let's put Treaddy in the drawer though I don't want his lil back all scratched up!
Body recomposition. I believe that's what you're describing.
AnonLord of the octagon can help you with this, he is a very knowledgeable guy
TropicanaJuiceOk thank you ill get ahold of him
In my opinion, only possible with tren.
dont cut too much carbs. i tried it on cycle before and burned out quick.
Yes , one way to lose fat is to build muscles
TropicanaJuiceYes I just am confused with the whole "you need to eat more calories then you burn to build" and vice versa to cut, while others say stay at a 10% reduction of TDEE with high protein and your body will take from fat, then other swear by carb cycling for days of fat loos and days of muscle growth during a week.
