+ 12 Life is so fragile

ad

Let me preface this with an apology if this is posting in the wrong place and/or contains any spelling/grammar errors feel free to fix Greg/BFG.

I have told 1-2 of my closest buddies here, but thought I’d let everyone know if I’m MIA for a while. I had a seizure or passed out while driving on the interstate Thursday night. I have zero memory of the crash- woke up covered in blood, smoke filled cabin, and airbag off. I got out trying to flag down a car and woke up again laying in road with people shaking me.

I speculate seizure because eye witness says I sped up and just slowly drifted off the shoulder and hit a concrete light post passing them at 80, but I vividly remember last thing having cruise on 75 and listening to podcast last thing. After the first collision apparently I kept going and went all the way back across the interstate and into the right median before finally stopping. Back of my right leg has the contusion like I was stepping on the gas when the impact happened hence my seizure speculation.

Had to go in ambulance as was so out of it and throwing up blood covered in blood. Nothing major broken thankfully minor brain bleed, abdominal bleeding that has stopped, severe concussion, lots of small cuts/bruises, and quadricep contusion… for the speed I was going and how severe the wreck was I have no idea how I escaped with only what I did.

My puppy was in the back and a higher power was watching… I randomly decided to put pillows along the walls of her kennel and buckle it down so she doesn't even have a scratch thankfully was just shaken up. I never buckle it in was just so lucky. Did acupressure on her ribs/spine/limbs before I let the ambulance take me and thankfully had an aunt 20 minutes away from the impact site my mother called and had her pick up so didn’t have to go to pound.

Rest in peace to my baby 55k 6.2L trail boss… she was paid off in full so hopefully insurance gives me a pretty good paycheck… really just grateful me and my puppy are alive. And that nobody else was involved in the accident- I truly thought I killed someome or someone hit me I just have no memory which is the scariest part.

Most of yall know I have been sober for over a year and that’s the same thing cops/hospital staff thought too. No drugs in system, no blood markers wrong, blood sugar was on point, etc. no obvious reason I should’ve passed out or had a seizure, but sometimes these things can’t be seen on simple scans and/or blood tests. Praying, praying, praying that this is not a continued thing- if I have another one I get license suspended for 6 months which would be terrible.

Moments like these are really sobering… life can end in a flash. Don’t sit idle and let opportunities pass. Be nice to your fellow brothers and family. Go for that girl you’ve been thinking about. Seize the opportunity- Carpe Diem!

Love y’all guys for better or worse haha. Hope everyone ended their holiday season better than I did.

Jesus man! You have anything long lasting or mostly okay? Glad you’re here too. Yeah it happened out on 20 near Abilene still daylight. People drive like idiots all around 35/820/etc. any interstate really. From Dallas here.

I appreciate the kind words man!!

Shit Smurfers!!! Shok I did wonder where you had been the past few days but I figured you were still busy with the family / on another friends with benefits excursion / with the Love doll so I asked no questions!!

I'm just VERY happy to hear you are okay pal, the further I scrolled down there I figured I was going to see you had a lost a leg or something. I know you are trying out lots of peptides and things atm and coupled with the hypo scare the other week maybe you just need to tone it down and run some basic gear you are familiar with mate Smile

smurfdude1234567's picture

Haha yep dropped sema immediately after that scare- just on trt and 2IU gh for 2 weeks now.

Definitely going to be adding in some more bpc and tb now though…

Was actually headed out to West Texas to see ext. family Christmas when it happened.

Heyyyy now I may have questionable decisions (especially newly concussed Smurf), but I’ll drop whatever it is before anything that drastic occurs if I have control over it hahahaha!

Thats really the scariest part though- almost wish I was running something more crazy, going hypo, drunk, etc. when there’s no obvious reason in scans/blood results/etc. you start to question if epilepsy is popping up or other conditions that cannot be physically seen.

They did blood sugar in ambulance was normal, full CBC, metabolic panel, toxicology, alcohol serum, head/abdominal scan with contrast, and x-rays. Doc said very well could have been seizure or onset, but won’t know unless it happens again. You get one “freebie” in terms of drivers license suspension, but even if I have a seizure outside of driving now it will be suspended for 6 months until stable.

I appreciate the kind words and you checking in the other day it put a big ole goofy smile on my face hahaha- hope all is well with you!

Damn man.. that’s crazy as fuck.. hope all gets figured out. This was definitely a life flashing before your eyes moment. I’m far from religious or even believe in god but moments like this can change that perspective quick. Clearly your time on earth isn’t up yet. Stay up my man!

100%. Still half retarded with this concussion, but I already got insurance claim started and family informed. Full coverage with progressive so taking care of ambulance/tow/hospital/etc for me.

I was raised Christian and fell out of it sorta recently… this was crazy. From the lack of injury at 80mph+, dog unscathed/decided to pad/buckle her randomly, bystander that helped me was actually my nieces hairdresser haha. My aunt was driving in the area same time over 3hrs from her house but only 20mins from my wreck unknowingly. I agree it really makes you question if something higher could be at play. I know I’ve been spared so many damn times and will continue to make the most of it while I’m here.

Thank you for the kind words!

How’s that tongue healing up?!

Crazy how all those pieces fell Into place! Glad you’re ok and keep us posted.

Tongue is doing great! I can speak now lmao. I do have a lisp but as I get better at using my tongue that’ll go away.. hopefully lmao! Had a stitch bust and ended up going to the ER from losing hella blood. Bled for 4 hours straight. My coworkers were absolutely mortified! The reactions were priceless. I’m still struggling to eat a bit as I’m barely started to be able to use and feel my tongue. It’s a trip bc I can feel the both sides touching so it feels like there a line going down my tongue lmao. Also just learned that sublingual is gonna be a struggle lmao.

smurfdude1234567's picture

Hahaha I imagine sublingual being a pain! Man that’s always cracked me up the sight/smell of blood doesn’t bother me at all but if I have to give blood the actual IV going into a vein makes me squirm and sweat like a little girl LOL!

Finally discharged and feeling a lot better. Concussion is going to have after effects and quad contusion will take a few weeks to be 100%, but for the severity it’s nothing at all.

Man I can’t imagine how that feels just day to day. Sublingual you might just have to break the tabs in half and put one under each mini-tongue LOLOL!

You have to get transfusion from a tongue bleed or they just give you fluids and get it stopped?? That’s insane but the amount of tiny capillaries in our facial structure is SCARY! If you get a severe cut on your nose, tongue, neck, forehead, ears, eyebrow, etc. you 1000% CAN bleed out even if you don’t think you are. Very hard to clot without outside intervention

Damn this was way worse than what I thought when you shared this info. You're fortunate to be alive and I'm grateful you are. So what scares me is that buddy that I told you about awhile back went through the same thing. Man I just hope you get better and find out what the hell is happening. Like you said life is fragile and all the foolishness isn't really worth it. That truck can be replaced but your life can't be replaced.

smurfdude1234567's picture

Same thing as in seizure or passing out? I’d love to hear more about it or what happened if you want to talk private… I’m really thinking about where to go from here. Makes you question next steps when you legitimately don’t remember anything.

Me too brother man. Thank you for all the kind words… yeah I don’t know how I got out as lucky as I did… concussions & contusions suck but that’s really the worst of it. Bruises and cuts aren’t too too bad. Not even a single broken bone.

I couldn’t agree more. I’ll be just as happy driving a $2,000 hooptie if me/my family is happy and healthy.

Grateful for you too man!

Same exact thing. Remember when I told you about that buddy of mine? Yeah him. When he called me he mentioned just blacking out at the wheel while driving on the road. I don't know man, might want to more than likely come off of everything until you get this figured out. My buddy was on gear when his accident happened also

smurfdude1234567's picture

Yep just on 120mg T E (my trt)and 2IU gh as of 2 weeks now.

That is absolutely insane… I definitely don’t want to go down that road have been doing too good recently to have anything keep going downhill. Always better safe than sorry in this game and honestly in lots of aspects of life.

Truly thought my markers would be much more skewed so shortly after cycle, but it was all in check as far as I was told- I haven’t physically seen the work yet though just talked to docs.

Probably going to add in bpc as I have experience with it and want to get quadricep healing started, but may even hold off on that.

He wasn’t tired at all? No memory either? I have ruled out falling asleep they’ve questioned me so much but I truly do not remember. I know I wasn’t tired and it was middle of day. I guess I could’ve swerved and wrecked/got knocked out but I don’t think I would’ve stepped on gas before swerving off and/or kept going after wreck if I was conscious/cognitive. Scary stuff. Probably going to try to stay with family for a week or so because if I have another seizure or pass out again soon I probably wouldn’t even know it or the difference I’d just think I blacked out.

So yeah he doesn't remember anything besides driving and being awaken by the paramedics. He was pre diabetic. I mean a seizure could of been possible in your case but who knows. I'll say this...I remember like yesterday I was coming home from work and totally passed out driving on a road and it happened on a highway also. On the highway I woke up just in time to tapp my brakes before I barely touched the trailer of the 18 wheeler. Scary situation for sure. On the road I remember just stopping at red lights. Crazy situation. In both cases it was risking my life.

smurfdude1234567's picture

Oh yeah man I am all too familiar with that feeling. For my short oil field stint it was 2 weeks on 1 off 12 hour shifts with a 2 hours drive between. I’d have to pull over and nap sometimes my eyes would be so heavy or I’d legitimately start dozing off. I am fairly certain it wasn’t that it seemed so sudden. I guess some things you just never truly find out… can hypothesize 24/7 but really just praying a pattern or other condition doesn’t begin.

Absolutely terrifying feeling.

How close was this to when all the other stuff occurred? Did he go to any specialists? Nothing in system recreational wise? Pre-diabetic could’ve been his blood sugar but all hypothetical. Man what a small world. That message you sent me has my head spinning!

Way too similar.

Yeah he said nothing recreational was in his system. I figured he was drunk but that wasn't the case. They never found out what caused his wreck. I'm telling you man this brings back memories and don't feel sorry for that cause maybe it's some sort of sign. I don't know man but it is freaky that it's the same kind of truck. Damn just strange man. Folks can say whatever but once you witness something like this it changes your thinking or should at least. But yeah way too familiar!
