You know whats worse than all the karma threads? All the hypocrites that start posting in them. If you have ever posted a review just to get in on a promo you shouldn't be on here bitching about others doing it. If you have ever intentionally gamed the karma system maybe this isn't the thread to be feigning indignity. There are plenty of other examples but you get my point.

BTW, I am not casting judgement on anyones past transgressions just pointing that ya'll have skeletons in your closet too.

Honestly the best way to reduce is make it harder to get karma from posting pics. That's where these karma whores come from. It's a shame because people like feeling that they're doing a good job(physically and advice) and so they appreciate the karma, but then we have guys with +200 karma and it's all from pics

I just responded to another post, Lately hasn't it seemed like any posts coming up are just about karma? I don't see any informatives, no more science, no more helping others. All i see is how do I get more karma? I dont want to lose all the karma I spent so many days getting, please dont take my karma away for doing the wrong thing, Can we just get back to the way it was when I joined where everyone was worried about helping the helpless and not worried about helping themselves? I'm starting to believe they do it so they can get freebies from the sources and that is the only reason. We do have some vets here that are still here when I started that make an effort to help but as of the last year we have the guys and girls more worried about themselves because once they reach a certain level they become arrogant little pricks, especially the ones with 1 cycle under their belt and tote themselves like fkn pros. The only integrity that is gone is those peoples. How do they live with themselves is beyond me.

It's very refreshing to see a mod with low karma for once. Time to abolish the system in my opinion.

I made a post as you saw also. Its intent was not to start arguments , pissing matches , or singling people out , even if i or others have poor views of other members on this site we are all entitled to our opinions but does not mean we have to voice hate. With that being said i made the post to help open peoples eyes that sure is the system a little flawed by us as members being able to award soo much karma for pics and posting pics after pics, after pics, no matter what kind whether it be pics of progress, pics of gear, ass shots of your girl whatever, or being able to award soo much karma for funny comebacks , jokes , or just down right stupidity, sure its a little flawed. But, with that being said we as a community , as members are more to blame by awarding said karma no one made us hit the button it was us as members choice. soo many people have a lot of ideas, i say look in the mirror because many of us are to blame for just hitting the karma button. Instead of having a war on what should be changed as far as the site goes , why cant all of us members whether your a guru tag, pro tag , exp. tag, adv. tag, level 1,2 or 3 change the problem we as a group can change the problem. The mods cannot be expected to fix everything, BFG cannot be expected to change everything. Is it easier said then done but it can be done. If you see some posting pic after pic after pic of gear , selfies , say something nicely and than report it, if you see someone just running around awarding karma for retarded shit say something to the person nicely and if it gets out of hand tell a mod, if you see a group of guys or girls giving a circle jerk for dumbass shit say something, there is no need for us to hit the button , you see some shity advice down vote it and tell the person why you did it easy enough, i just don't understand how people can blame the system 100% when if we didn't hit the button the fucking karma would not be awarded in the first place. you wouldn't have people who don't know jack shit about things running around with high tags, you wouldn't have people who just aren't liked having low numbers even tho they have good knowledge and share it often but because he isn't witty he doesn't get karma. People who bitch that guys under 25 (no pun intended dudebro you made a solid point) are giving and receiving advice than say something to them and than if they argue like a fuck wit tell a mod if it bothers you. I try often to help guys around my age make the right choices the guys who are younger i reason with them and try hard but if they don't get it and act like a cocky cunt i tell a mod simple right? i try to police "my generation" god that sucks to say lol but if another member sees em put in work and defend what your site stands for period. all of us can make a change if we really want it, but 10 members cant quite a few of us have to regardless of our fucking karma. sorry for blowing up your post noid just felt i had to voice that.

Another idea here:

Eliminate the karma entirely, and make a rule for the SRCs that all promos are meant for all users, and let them limit the amount of slots they can fill for the promo. A good way to prevent users from creating multiple accounts just for promos, is after 3 months, your tag changes from NEW to REG, and no NEW members can be in on promos, and REGs need to have a certain posting frequency to qualify, and then the tags can change based on time here. The only tag that matters anyway is MOD truthfully, the rest are just based off of numbers that don't matter.

Not saying I don't like karma .. But karma can be like money and corrupts people causing them to do things they normally wouldn't do.. Karma can be a powerful tool in the hands of a person deserving of it and shares is or hers knowledge

Karma is only as important as people make it. But clearly you know this.

What about the notion that the only ones who can see our actual number are ourselves, MODs and SRCs (verified ones, only for promo reasons as many promos are based on the karma range)???

The other users will only see our tag, which can be restructured from what it is now so the LVL1, 2, adv etc. aren't the same point range. If you are level 2 everyone knows you're between 100 and 200.

Also, in an attempt to limit karma whoring, how about the possibility of having a limit to what you can give out per day, and if you go over the number it comes out of your karma? See how quick the BS +1's for a pic of a bottle of prop stop...

Just a few suggestions that will keep karma as an important number without the dick swinging you see on the threads and forums. Too many times you see a new member bashed by someone saying "yea you joined 3 days ago, your advice is useless", when in reality you aren't hatching out of some giant steroid egg when you make an account here, most of us have plenty of knowledge and know how without this site, and it is up to us to bring it to the table and share with everyone else.

This is my 2 cents, I'm sure the MODs will do a good job of fixing this, so we can keep a good thing going here!
