Judged my first NPC show this past weekend

Judging is not easy. But I had a good time doing it. Will be judging another show at the end of May.

What do you look for when you judge?

If you don't mind explaining... what about bikini or physique?

What show are you judging at the end of May? My wife is competing and her posing coach is judging men's bodybuilding. If you don't want to post here, PM me please.

I don't think it would be overly easy and with the current format of some of these shows, not sure how judges could be effective for the entire show.

I was at an NPC show in my neck of the woods this weekend, had a few friends and clients competing. The issue I have is that by the time they get through the million bikini, physique (men and women) and figure classes, it seems like the judges are somewhat burnt out. Some questionable calls made this weekend at the show I was at. I mean it was a long prejudging and started an hour late but when guys kill themselves with a diet for 16-20 weeks, give em' a fair shake in the comparisons. All the people who should have won, did. But definetly some mix-ups in the top 5 in my opinion. Jim Rockell is the head judge at this show, he's pretty good, but some of the others... not so much.

I know judging isn't an easy task and I would never want to do it. Maybe if they separate the Bikini and Physique to their own formats, then bodybuilding can have the adequate time to judge.
