High Altitude Training
Anyone here do any high altitude training?
Every summer for the past while me and a few guys altitude train and I fricken love it. We train at my cabin that sits at a little over 11,000 ft and holy shit bros and Brozettes after acclimatizing and dropping back down to sea level, damn you just feel fricken amazing.
There are a few different schools of thought dealing with altitude training some guys live high train low others live high train high. Personally, I've felt that the "live high train high" concept produces better results.
Just curious if anyone here is in to altitude manipulation, weather it be altitude tents, masks, etc.
For me it's become an addiction that I crave all winter long.
I'd love to hear anyone's thoughts opinion etc on the subject.
All my love, no homo

mikeyg4321Wish I could train like this but I live I'm the great plains of america. FML
You could get a tent to sleep in or they make masks. The masks will simulate it while you are training if you can stand training with a damn gas mask on lol.
mikeyg4321Not being a smart ass but ed what do I sleep in the tent for? Lol you mean like drive somewhere and camp out??? Mask seems like a good idea though!
Nah bro they have tents that you can purchase that simulate the high altitude training environment in your own home.

I know bunch of mma fighters train like that. Unfortunately for me I'm from the Midwest and the biggest hill here is like 100 ft lol.first time I heard bout that was tito Ortiz used to train at big bear I think what it was called
I've heard that he still does.
RustyhookerI used to love high altitudes for running. Thin air forces the body to push hard on less. Old reports on med/fitness reports showed the body increased rbc.
Downside is altitude sickness can be life threatening. I enjoyed running at 6000 ft.
Lol, I've seen altitude sickness a few times. Usually it's from guys who live at sea level and jump in to it head first. Hell I've seen it hit as fast as the drive up to the cabin.
Rustyhooker11,000 though sounds interesting. At least a good spot for cigar and get outta my head a while.
You'll definitely catch a buzz at 11,000
