+ 15 The illusion of invincibility
Hey kids, Ed here. Maybe a little older and a little wiser, still kind of a dumbass, and still sexy as hell. No homo.
I've spent the last few days in the hospital hooked up to IV's and getting treated while dealing with a crying wife and confused little kids wondering why Daddy has to wear a dress (I tried to explain that it was a hospital gown but they just didn't buy it. )
At any rate, I've had a chance to do some serious reflecting and it's hit me hard that I'm not invincible and that I need to be a little smarter about my decisions. Especially when it comes to taking care of my body. Sure, I eat damn healthy, and I'm the biggest guy in the Gym, but when the doc tells your wife that she will be lucky if Her husband lives another ten years..that gets a cracker thinking.
I've been incredibly hard on my body, from being a former tobacco user, a former drug user, a former alcoholic, and former pill popper. Never at the time did I ever worry about the permanent effects. I was living for the now and I've had that attitude that said who cares, as long as I look good and as long as I feel good now ..that's all that matters.
I see this attitude all to common on these threads, and it seems like I'm seeing it more and more from this younger generation.
I'm not trying to be a hypocrite, especially where I think I'm just seeing the light right now. Just wanted to throw this out, and if it helps at least one of you it's worth it to me.
I've never been afraid of dying, but what really has been kicking my as is looking at my three little children all under 7 years old and realizing that if I don't make some serious lifestyle changes I'll miss half their childhood, while I'm dead and some douche that is nailing my widowed wife is raising them. lol that's a sobering thought.
I know I'm kind of rambling, admittedly I'm slightly medicated right now.
I guess what I'm trying to say to you my Eroids bros and brozettes, is be careful. Be careful with your cycles. Keep them simple. There is no need to over do it. You don't need to jump on trt when you are 30 years old. Holy shit we are seeing this all too often. You don't need to be cycling when you are under 25, hell even under 30 to me is a little too young. You don't need to be running Tren on your first cycle. Holy shit it seems like everyone is doing that.
Just be careful, think of the long term effects, you may find yourself like I do with little kids only hoping and praying that you'll be able to live to see them graduate.
No, my medical problems don't have anything to do with steroid use, but I cycle reasonably smart, I don't think that I over do it, I'm off cycle as we speak and have been for a couple of months off, but you bet your ass my next cycle with be much lighter and there will be everything considered before I touch anything. Life is precious. Don't make permanent decisions that will hurt you in the long run. We are not all invincible. Just be safe and smart and if you are a youngster.. Please step awAy from this shit. You don't need it. All of your issues can be solved with proper training and diet. I promise, you won't regret it.
Sorry if this was hard to follow, and didn't contain any Ed humor, I just want everyone to be smart and careful, and realize that none of us are invincible.
All my love, no homo
Ed

Come on now Ed, a colonoscopy is not the end of the world.
You'll be up and out of the hospital in no time. ;-)
Very wise comments my friend, I also found it easier to do the right thing when I started to do it for those around me (wife and kids) rather than thinking and doing for myself.
They say what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger... You sound like one strong MoFo.
GearofWarGlad to see you around again Ed but I wish it was under better circumstances. Things have not been right at all without you. Viking has been reduced to looking to my posts for humor. That's how dire things have become lately. Thanks for sharing such a personal story to benefit the health and well-being of all. Classy motherfucker you.
Been thinking about you ED(no homo). Wishing you a speedy recovery. Follow what the Dr tells you to do. But if he tells you to bend over and raise your gown and you see him putting on rubber gloves tell him no way Hommie don't play that.
I hope you get well soon. This is ia great piece for gaining a bit of perspective on things. Thanks for sharing bud
Well Mr.Ed, this post is very heart felt, my man. In a way, we all would like to think were invincible. When shit hits the fan, we come to our senses really quick. Fortunately, for your situation you still have time. It always seems to happen good people too, never loose your sense of humor though. Keep your head up and fight that shit, whatever it is. Godspeed!
Winning
56tooBest wishes for you ED. Yeah sometimes we need wake up calls like that or maybe thats the only way we can wake up and make the necessary changes to avoid disaster.
Thanks bud. We all need to avoid engineering a disaster.
Spoken like a true gentleman. Whatever your medical issue is at the moment I hope it's reversible and you recover quickly.
Thanks man. It's not reversible but it is remissible. I'm cool with that.
Thanks for sharing bro. This is sobering info. Best wishes on a speedy recovery.
Thanks bud.
snapped back to reality, take heed young fellas this guy knows his shiat, and what he's taking about, don't think for one second, hell it won't be me, cuz it can and will be you with that type of mentality. Ed wishing you and your family a quick and full recovery. lying in a hospital bed and still throwing us that wisdom and humor. you the best bro!
Thanks bud. How can I be the best when you are already?
ED,
Thanks for your post and for your valuable insight. I think this is something we all need to hear and to have it repeated throughout our lives, because it can be easy to forget when things are going well. I wish you the very best and pray for your recovery.
Also, this better not change you too much, because I would be pretty pissed if we were deprived of your brand of humor. So, funny up big guy!!!
All love, no homo.
Vhman
Hey thanks brother. I'll try to not let this get me too serious. :). Thanks for the nice words and a big fat no homo back atcha!
That's a really cool message. Thanks to writing. It's amazing what a lot of people don't understand is that moderate AAS usage with good dietary practices will get them so much further than massive amounts of AAS.
What's even more sad is that a lot of the younger kids think that TRT is a badge of honor.
No shit, trt while not taking in to account the future, wanting to have kids, possibility of financial troubles...try being broke with zero testosterone. There is a lot that one needs to take in to account.
great post Ed! and stay healthy, we all want to be reading your hilarious word craft several years from now.
Yeah, I'll beat this shit thanks brother.
ED,hope you get better brother.Wish you the best on a speedy recovery.I always enjoy reading your posts. Many a laugh has been had from the creative wisdom of yours. This one sans hookers and the van is right up there with the rest, very good post.It definitely is a reminder of ones own mortality.Keep fighting the good fight.Keep it safe and keep it simple.
your friend Pimple.
Thanks for the nice words brother.
I personally think those words couldn't have came at a better time for myself AND for the site, with the direction some peeps seem to be heading. I say myself because while I remain keeping things nice and simple, a little to often lately those thoughts of " fuck it, jump on the big boy stacks" are ever creeping in.
More importantly, hope you return to full health soon mate !
Thanks man. I figure even if this only gets to one guy it will be worth it.
Get well brother. The silver lining in all of this is you have the ability to be disciplined in whatever ways you need to be to heal yourself. You have competed and trained at the highest levels, a huge advantage. Now make it so..
Will do. Thanks brother.
truly hope your health gets better.
Thanks bud. It will. I definitely won't give up.
Ed, thanks for sharing. Get well, and enjoy your family. I too hope you see them graduate. I am sure your honesty will hit someone right between the eyes. Unfortunately, I fear most will not have your background and dismiss your wisdom.
Kids, before you dismiss this do yourself a favor and Google Len Bias. It happens that fast.
Get well.
Thanks buddy.
Glad to see you back brother!... ED humour (british spelling) or not!.. you definately got your point across loud and clear to me bro.
I remember saying to nitti a while back that my carcass may still look rugged and abuse worthy!.. LOL. i tell you what. if i try to push this thing tooooo hard it certainly lets out a HOWL and stops me in my tracks quick sharp.+3
Thanks brother. Sometimes it's tough to realize how short life really can be until its too late.
yeah.... thats how it feels when suze hits me with a full nelson lol.. i get my own back though when i pile drive her skull into the deck lmao!
56tooLMFAO So thats how you and suze have your fun huh. I picture that and LMAO
i was talkin out my ass to be honest but it made me laugh too when i read it back... so i left it up hahahaha
RustyhookerWhile in your dress with your massive Ed boner cruising for hookers, just take care of fam first. I think that a major deal of these youngsters ruining themselves is crazy too. I'm a short fat yard gnome but living as we ll as i can. Gotta see all my kids graduate abd be called Buffed Gpa is my simple plan. I get kicked constantly for my "too mild" cycles but it works.
Get well! You gotta get yout PRO tag!
Thanks brotha. I would think that might add to the terror, me picking up a hooker in my hospital gown driving out to the woods. Lol.
RustyhookerWear the hockey mask. It'll add to the excitement! Lol!
