Falcons/hawks

Hi all bit of a random one here I am thinking of getting a hawk/falcon as a pet I live in uk but before i jump in head first does anyone know any good books or has any info on what there like to train etc,are they hard work and how much is the upkeep and do i have to have a license here in good old blighty.
Any input would be greatly recieved

best part of him messing with the hawks was he use to breed green tree pythons and few others exotic reptiles... Once he got the hawks he had to get rid of everything as the birds can pick up the scents and go ape shit, so I got myself at the time a nice breeding pair of green tree pythons.

My uncle use to have a couple hawks here in the states. He needed a license. His neighbors/ Us his family/ His coworkers/e.tc called him "the bird guy"...I know you need to be very careful in handling them as their claws will rip right through your skin, its like razor blades ends of their talons.....I guess the liscense was a pain in the dick to get to, he needed a lot of special training....... I would honestly say his reputation as "the bird guy" is almost as bad as the "single lady with cats" Each their own though.

ha mental its just a thought not a definate yet me and a mate are toying with the idea hes well keen i am not sure at mo seems like a lot of effort lol
