Anyone who finds the typical shows stale or 'watched them all like me can gain endless entertainment jumping into Japanese anime.
I recommend watching it with original audio and subtitles (The dubs are often so corny it's hard not to cringe and takes away from the quality of the show- of course some dubs are good, but none better than original audio in Japanese. )
I'll add some that aren't mentioned above
Berserk- the MC is jacked af and wields a hundred pound slab of sharpened metal. The gore is instense and pretty great. Lots of good climaxes and never gets dull. It's also short. Less than 30 25 min episodes and a few movies. Be sure to watch the original from 1997 first. The reboot is 2016 and insane albeit incomplete, which is annoying.
Vinland Saga - currently running its second season on Amazon prime. I think anyone who watches season 1 will be hooked. Similar to berserk in a way.
Naruto & Naruto Shippuden - my favorite of all time. The MC is incredibly inspiring and watching him grow into an elite ninja is very satisfying. Very long, complete. 600 plus episodes but skip the filler imo.
Neon Genesis Evangelion - my second favorite. Bizarre sci fi/ psychological thriller type 26 episodes. Gets weird and hard to understand but I think you will like it if into sci fi or psychological illness.
Samurai Champloo great samurai era anime entertaining throughout and short and complete.
Sword Art Online - future tech allows people to use a device placing their consciousness in a simulated MMORPG game, but the catch is if you die in game you die IRL. Waited too long to watch this as it didn't seem like I would be into it, but this anime is fantastic. The story top tier and for a dude that's not usually into the romance aspect of shows, I really enjoyed the side love story of this one.

I was curious about all of them as well and thank you for providing a description on each. I added berserk to my original post but I was curious in watching Vinland saga, now that you said it similar to berserk I’ll definitely watch it. I left a few of them off because they’re completely disturbing to say the least but I’m interested in supernatural/demon anime.

Castlevania was awesome. It's not technically anime since it's American made but to me, that makes it better. Anime tends to have ridiculous and unrealistic dialog that sort of just kills the vibe for me. American animated series cut through the fluff and bullshit, the humor is better and it's less cutesie garbage.
Berserk is probably one of my favorites from my younger years, I just seen recently that they remade it.
One Punch Man is less serious but still entertaining.
I'd add Kenshin OVA to that list (not the tv series)
They continue the story with the 2016 show and the new remake, golden age arc is the true remake of the original 1997 series and animated brilliantly. Def worth watching golden age arc. Love kenshin too even the Og anime albeit a little slow.
