I don't think this is so much a platform specific problem but rather a gaming problem in general now. Studios are so he'll bent on hitting release dates that are predetermined that they will churn out an unfinished game for the sake of making the deadline, patching it up along the way. The worst part about all of this is that consumers somehow deem this acceptable practice nowadays, and keep buying and preordering this shit rather than forcing studios to push back the dates until they can put out a finished game.
This didn't exist back in the day on consoles (not sure about PC) because you simply couldn't connect to the net and update the game. You bought the game, and it remained unchanged for the duration of its lifetime. Nowadays people are constantly connected so patching along the way is feasible. I just can't see why the fuck they can't put out a proper game, finished, and patch the minor issues and tweak the game then, instead of shipping somewhat broken experiences.
Rockstar Games is one of the few companies that says...."it'll be done when it's done"..although they have produced a few abortions as well.

Oh no. These days console games are being released buggy and/or unplayable as well. Far Cry is seemingly one of the few that launched without problems. I suppose I'm using some hyperbole, but the new Halo remake is fucked up, Assassins Creed was seriously flawed...and a few other big titles that slip my mind at the moment.
I loved BF3 but BF4 has just been too many let downs and half assed gameplay. It is supposed to be fixed now but I never have the time to commit to playing it anyway. Truthfully I don't know why I even keep buying game systems. I hardly ever use them.
