+ 1 46 yr old knackered woman considering Anavar to kickstart

ad

Hi,
I new here.
I am 46 yrs old and used to do some weight lifting and had pleasant results, but I never knew a thing about diet back in the day, and also had youth on my side LOL.

Present day - I had a child (only one) when I was 40 and have not built since. I am now 172cms height with 138lbs weight. Skinny arms (though still have the old muscle that re-pumps nicely) and legs - age related muscle decrease everywhere :( and surface fat increase :((

I have spine arthritis now so heavy lifting out of the question. I have to do lifting lying down to avoid spine compression. I can do squats and dead lifts with low weights. I can't jog/run because of the arthritis, but I can walk briskly and cycle.
I also have auto-immune hypothyroid, treated well with 100mcg levothyroxine daily presently.

I appreciate my results (if any) are going to be reduced/minimal because of the arthritis limiting my training.

OK, questions:
I have Anavar at the ready and have read GRRRL's posts so intend to start 5mg/5mg.
What should I be eating and what training would you recommend for fat reduction and muscle toning?
Can I still achieve any fat reduction with Anavar and modest excercise/diet regime or is this only going to be solved with diet/exercise routine? (I guess I mean to ask is Anavar going to do anything at all in my situation?)
I'm ot expecting miracles of any kind (I know I'm past it), but just would like a bit of a boost or helping hand from the Anavar - or am I being completely newbie-naive about Var's capabilities?

Any help greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Hey Beatrix

Honestly I feel a little bit self conscious to chime in around all these experts but coming from personal experience, consider using anavar after ECA or clen cyle. They both have muscle sparing properties, you can bypass catabolic effect of dieting. If you also add 40/40/20 diet and green tea (especially matcha) into equation it work wonders:)

I'm not perimenopausal (yet), so hormonally, I am fine. Regular as clockwork ;-)
body fat currently around 23%
Diet:
breakfast: protein shake with milk, blueberries and yoghurt and almonds/brasil nuts.
snack: banana, nuts
lunch: chicken breast grilled, or tin tuna and salad with quinoa
snack apricots/dates and nuts
tea: fish/scrambled eggs, cottage cheese, avocado, veg/salad , sweet potato mash and protein shake.

Var 2.5/2.5 or maybe 5mg in morning.

What do you think?

Did you have a hormone panel pulled or are you just going by your monthly? Your diet needs work. Did you read through the comments here? When I have time later we can adjust your diet. What are you looking to accomplish with anavar, gains and goals? You say building muscle and toning, well that comes down to diet and training , anavar can make your weight rise and help speed up recovery and you bodies ability to break down protein and shuttle it quicker so to speak. But you have to get your diet in line and training in line and work with that for a few months or your going to be let down. The gains that will be noticeable at this point will be minimal at best. Real changes come from carb cycling , proper diet, proper goal orientated training focusing on goals, cardio , keeping rest periods low etc etc. Remember these drugs are not used to get in shape , they are used when you've reached a point where you've tried a ton of other options with no prevail, not saying your not in shape but don't put the carriage in front of the horse if you know what I mean.

Thanks, what a nice reply.
Just going with my monthly. No blood tests done. The NHS doesn't offer them I dont think (I'm in UK).
Please do help with my diet :-) I'd love that.
After having read quite a lot of replies on different forums, I am thinking 5mg daily on a 4 week cycle as a site said this was a good length of thime...then other sites have said anything under 6-8 weeks can cause problems.
How confusing!
What do you think about cycle length?

Gains and goals : tone up old muscle, lose some surface fat esp. on abdomen.

I think once you have your diet ironed out you will be amazed at what it will do for you ... food is SO important .. more important than the steriods. at that body fat percentage you aren't going to notice much in the mirror as far as fat loss and if that doesn't freak you out then maybe being thicker won't either. When you take var it will build muscle much faster than it will assist in fat burning and in all actuality var does NOT burn fat but more muscle willl. So you WILL be thicker in through the waist ... you can't think to take an agent that was meant to build muscle and prescribed for muscle wasting diseases and think that you can tell it where to build muscle. IF that doesn't bother you and you don't mind then more power to you as most women will freak about the added numbers on the scale and the feeling of thick ness. Now for cycle length why would you even bother with 4 weeks on a dose that you probably won't even notice much... 4 weeks in you are just starting to roll and get everything working together and then you are going to quit. Plan a cycle for 8 to 10 weeks unless of course you are just trying to dip your pinky toes into the water and see if it is hot or not. Do some reading. I spent a lot of time reading the mens stuff just because there wasn't a women's forum and the ones that were out there wouldn't share much beyond a 10 week 10mg per day cycle .... Do some soul searching be honest with yourself .. if you are using this for a way to lose fat that isn't an issue but come to it with an understanding that you are going to gain weight and be thicker LONG before you are going to lose the excess fat that you want to.

Thank you for your great reply!
I'm wanting to lose some fat, and would be very happy to be thicker. I've become too stringy lately and lost my butt :(
I am kinda dipping my toes in the water, but am also very happy to make it an 8-10 week cycle - as long as it's safe.
I'm trying to do plenty of reading, but so much info seems to conflict and it's boggling my mind!!
Would you help me with my plan? (pretty please?)

have Tony help with your diet .. he's much better at it than I am .. I tend to throw food at things and then adjust from there.. safe is relative quite a few people will tell you that juicing, especially for women, is not safe etc etc.. .. plan? follow the beginners cycle it is VERY mild you will find the sticky at the top of the forum .. if you have more personal questions you can send me a pm I ll be happy to help

Seriously, look at your hormone levels... testosterone, estrogen, progesterone, etc before taking any steroids. I've been reading up on hormone replacement for women ( my wife is about to start BHRT) and perimenopause and menopause can wreak havoc on a woman.... leaving her feeling knackered.

Look at some of the books by Susanne Somers on hormone therapy. A proper balance of your real hormones will do so much more for you than anavar ever could.

kodiakGRRL's picture

you hit that right on CB .. I d give you my points if I could ;-)

CBBurrr's picture

Thanks for pointing me and the Mrs in the right direction. I'm reading one of S. Somers books right now.

I can point all I want but you made the choice to listen ;-)

Welcome to EROIDS. Post BF% after determining what it is. Tell us what u eat on a daily basis and we can modify from that point.

CBBurrr's picture

How are your hormones? Perhaps look into BHRT at a clinic.

Sorry to hear about all of your health problems but don't count yourself out just yet. You're expectations for what Anavar may do for you are setting you up for disappointment. I'd spend the money finding the best physical therapist you can and start with that. Don't settle for a good or average one, keep looking until you find a great one. They are out there and can do wonders to improve your strength, quality of life and eventually your appearance. Anavar isn't going to get you anywhere close to where you want to be.

X2, find that long term fix.
