I've been browsing for a while and not logging in so I figured I might as well get involved again. I just starting hitting weights and eating right about 6 months ago after a series of health problems took me out and I went from 200 pounds down to 170.
First I tore my left labrum doing squats of all things. Not being able to lift I got real stressed when life happened and my BP skyrocketed to 160/110. I came back with an abnormal EKG and the cardiologist suspected LVH or cocaine myopathy (I was a bad addict for 10 years up until 4 years ago). Luckily the stress test, monitor, and echocardiogram went well but the wall is a little thickened. I was diagnosed with athletic induced LVT and told not to lift for 6 months. Being sedentary and malnourished I developed cubital tunnel syndrome to the point I needed surgery since I had no feeling in the left arm. After starting mild exercise once I got the clear from the cardiologist I managed to get feeling back and avoid surgery.
Been mostly uphill since then and I have to thank the forums for all the diet and training topics to gt me back on track again. Up 15 pounds just 15 more to hit my first goal weight.
