40 year old guy looking to get into decent normal shape
ad
Hey everyone, I'm Matt 40 from the UK. I'm looking to make some changes to get back in shape and live a happier healthy lifestyle.
Mentally I've been better, I have some mild-ish anxiety and depression that effects my eating. I'm around 110kg at the moment, I'm not a slob I'm active but mainly due to renovation work I'm carrying out on our old house. I was a powerlifter so will be getting back into weights along with some regular cardio but need a push to help me get started.
Anyway that's why I'm here, I'm doing some research on starting out with low dose of Anavar, start slow/low and take things from there. Hopefully drop some fat, gain some muscle, look better on the outside and feel better on the inside.
All the best - stay strong.
Matt

DC TomWelcome to eroids!!
Quick update and another thanks to you all, I got my bloods back and while my T is low (10.6 nmol/L - free T is 0.233) I've got the typical overweight guy stuff going on too (high cholesterol, high liver ALT, high blood pressure, etc.) so me blindly going into Anavar would have been a BAD idea.
I've got an appointment with a UK TRT clinic in a few weeks to hopefully get that going and right now it's on to diet to start shifting some serious body fat and correcting some of the other 'fat guy' issues in my bloods. Looking forward to the journey, having bloods is MUCH more motivational than imagined it would be.
I'll head over to the diet and TRT forums now but thanks again for the constructive advice, it's been more helpful than you know.
All the best!
Matt
Welcome to Eroids Matt and take heed to the advice given by others below
One thing I've found that has changed my approach to training and diet is looking for sustainability in everything I do. I track everything I eat now (which I understand is not sustainable for everyone). Tracking has taken the guess work out of reaching my goals when it comes to fitness. When I want to change my body composition and add muscle, I increase my intake, when i want to lose BF, I decrease my intake. In both scenarios, my training is the same. Cardio 5 days a week for heart health, lifting for hypertrophy and muscle growth/retention. In your case, you should not add steroids to your life. They will complicate what you have not been effective at yet, which is maintaining your health/fitness consistently.
My best advice would be diet and training. I know you probably don’t want to here that, but I was you ten years ago, and after ten years of constant cycling different compounds, I’m only now starting to see real results because I’ve finally started to make my diet a lifestyle and not just a month long thing. It’s been a roller coaster ride of bloating up and cutting back down. No great gains until lately, and I know that it’s been due to diet, harder training, and actually cutting back on the gear, and realizing which gear works, and which gear was keeping me bloated and chubby around the waist. Trust me, chubby around the waste caused a lot of depression and broke my confidence and enthusiasm. I’m not going to get into which gear I’ve really been seeing results from over the past few months because you would probably just follow the same protocol and ignore the diet part of the whole thing. What I can tell you is there is a user by the name of Makwa on hear that I started following that gives a lot of good training and diet advice that has been working for me in a big way. Look him up, and take his advice seriously, and you may see the results I’m currently seeing. I’m finally about a month away from posting some self pics which I’ve been hesitant to do until now because of my ten year roller coaster ride experience.! Good luck, and diet and train your ass off!
True man, the whole things a roller coaster for sure - lot of ups and downs. Part of my issue is putting the blinders on and grinding it out, I'll go all in on cardio for months with little gain, same for diet too lots of effort then little to show for it. Funnily enough I didn't have that problem with lifting, the steady grind worked - I guess it's a results thing. Point noted though, I know it's the weight/diet I need to get on top of first and thanks for the link I'll have a read.
Congrats on your own efforts, look forward to seeing those 'after' pics.
This is some of his training advice that is really making a big difference for me, or at lest I think it is.

Wow, thanks for the responses guys - it means a lot to get such thoughtful feedback.
Thinking about what you said and doing some more reading up I'm going to get TRT, sort the general fitness/diet out and see where that takes me. Bloods are booked in for next week so hopefully that's the helping hand I'm looking for.
The GW501516/SR9009/SR9011 route is a new one to me (previously went ECA) but I'll have a look thanks.
I know there's no shortcuts but at least you guys got me pointed in the right direction - thanks again.
Hi Matt. Have you ever used gear in the past, you say you used to be a power lifter. From your wording it doesn't look like your hitting the gym yet. I would get to the gym consistently first, you should see positive results pretty quickly just getting back into the routine. It should also help with depression. I also have low appetite and something I do is make sure to eat when I wake up, I feel it makes me hungrier throughout the day. if I don't eat in the morning it seems I can go all day without eating. Have you had any tests done to see how healthy you are? Anavar can effect cholesterol and it can be hard on your liver.
Maybe start a little lighter. Looks like you're looking to cut some of that trim off. I agree that you should get your test levels checked and get a complete panel done, check vitamins, lipids, liver and kidney health etc, because why not?You should first try to get in moderately healthy shape and get your health in check. You're from the UK so you're probably D deficient to start, that can lead to lower testosterone and depression.
For fat loss, start soft. Maybe GW501516 and/or SR9009/SR9011 which I believe are available as supplements in the UK or of course there's plenty of online sites for it. They'll both help you knock down the fat and correct any lipid issues if you have them, very low to no side effects. great place to start.
Welcome to the site, you'll find lot of information here. Share your bloods if you get them for even more bro science feedback
Orals won’t do anything for you. They’ll probably make you feel worse.
IMO, find a TRT clinic.
At 40 your diet and gym work are going to have to be on point to get any results or gains even if you get on TRT.
You don't use steroids to get back into shape. You use steroids once you are in shape. You surely don't want to run an oral only cycle either. This will shut down your HPTA and if you are having slight depression now you will exacerbate it even more once your natty test levels plummet.
