+ 16 Steroids are NOT for GETTING into shape

ad

I have been looking through the cycle logs lately and one of the recurring goals I see is something like “I want to drop x amount of fat and get back into shape”. Many guys are proposing these cycles to get back into shape after a long layoff due to surgery or an accident that kept them out the gym or they are just sick of being lazy and are now determined to run a cycle to get them back into shape. I applaud everyone for wanting to get back into shape, that is the first step, but DO NOT use the steroids as a tool to get you back into shape. There is no need for it. Steroids should only be used as a tool for you to use to get to that next level AFTER you are in shape. “Getting into shape” is not accomplished by using steroids. It is accomplished by proper diet and training. There is a wealth of info and knowledgeable vets on EROIDS to get you into the best shape of your life without even touching any drugs. Use that info first and when you get into the best shape of your life, then you are ready for a cycle.

In my day people got into using Gear because they wanted to get big and strong, become that menacing looking MF'er walking down the street!

Thank you. I started my journey at 295 18months ago and through being mindful logging my food, started training a little bit at a time just getting a routine going. Never waiting till I'm starving to eat, eating breakfast and I stopped eating super late. I'd developed so many bad habits over the years hurting myself and after having my kids I had a major wake up call. I wasn't only hurting myself. I lost about 75-80lbs and my doctor suggested TRT I started that and lost another 10lbs and felt all around better. Then I got carried away using way to much gear trying to speed up the process only to find out I don't need it. My TRT and diet and training and good to go. Maybe in the future I may decide to use AAs but not until I'm already in primo shape and informed enough to use them safely

Reach yur baseline potential first then after ya plateau take the plunge - but only until you consume enough research research research!!! So many want to cut corners without putting in the time. SMH.

Fucking pussies these days! you know how many guys ive met lately who havent even lifted yet are now in the gym daily who started their first cycles, and that first cycle is a gram of test with a gram of tren and fkn dbol daily, no foundation no fkn clue, i had a go at some dim wit a few weeks back coz he actually stated and i quote " i just pop anavar everyday now year round coz you get the muscle benefits and its good for your liver" fkn cunt! The guy who sells to him had dbol, adrol or var and stated var is better for your liver than dbol/ drol and he took it as its good for your liver ffs! 20 yrs from now there will be a tonne ofvthese fucks dead alongside zzyz or who ever the fuck its pathetic, oh ive been outta the gym 6 months, i need 5 compounds and some gh to get back my abs man. Fucking mouths on twigs.

The Impastable's picture

20 years from now? I think you're being optimistic with that time frame.

Passito's picture

Exactly!
If you've been at a certain level it is quite easy to get back to your old state after a longer off time.
It will look like as if you're actually on steroids because there will be such a severe body recomposition.

So in that case, AAS will be kind of a waste. Rather wait a couple of weeks and as soon as you're old level, than you can consider of getting into a cycle.

Catalyst's picture

Eloquently made point.

Whitetrash's picture

This is so topical I thought it was a new post. Guess some things never change!

Kasinova's picture

Thanks for this reminder, I'll be sure to wait at least 6-12 months before venturing in another cycle now.

Drop-set's picture

I had surgery in january, missed 12 weeks. Stockpiled some gear. Might kick off cycle in july. Even after surgery etc, you need to get your base back first. I feel like im about back to pre-surgery conditioning finally.

Makwa's picture

I had surgury once and was out of the gym for about 4 months. Stuck on the couch for most of that time. Had a huge change in body composition. My weight was about the same but I lost about 20lbs of muscle and replaced it with 20lbs of fat. Figured I lost years worth of work in the gym and was very discouraged but I got back in the gym and about 4 months later I was right were I left off. So those years worth of lost muscle I was able to put back on just with training and diet and no drugs. I have to attribute it to muscle memory, which I think to many people underestimate the power of. It is better than any AAS when coming back from extended layoff due to injury or surgery.

Makwa's picture

Must be that time of year. Everybody thinking they can run a quick fix cycle to get buffed up for summer when the rest of they year they eat and train like crap.

Makwa's picture

BUMP

Been seeing to much of this lately.

Catalyst's picture

I've no idea what you could possibly be referring to.......

Funny I hear this so often from my friends "I want to get ripped and big". Haha +1

9/10 times their eyes glaze over when I mention diet and the other 1/10 have already lost interest in healthy living after the sentence is said.

Very helpful, thanks mate

Plenty of guys out there that are like yo can I just do a cycle of dboll for a month? Will that work? No clue of the hard work and time to put in and that aas needs to cycled and when you try to explain it they look at you like your crazy...the response I love the best is I dont want to inject anything, can't I just do dbol...lmbo..whatever bro!

outofacomic's picture

" if I was on what he was on I could look like that too. Bullshit!!!! Never mind the hours in the gym, the face shoveling of food several times a day, proper rest and so forth. Some uneducated folk think that all it takes is the shit and anybody can look like that. Not the case at all!!!!

^ THIS!!!

I only just started my 1st cycle two days ago and am going into this not expecting ridiculous gains. I know it'll take a long time to reach my goals even with aas. There are plenty of guys out there that look absolutely amazing and people think that if they take aas they will look like that too..lol, they would be lucky to look half as good.

DoctorDaz's picture

Take a peek at my profile images, and when they were taken. I am into my 2nd cycle, was tempted, very tempted to do more, as I saw a big change when using gear. FORGETTING that I was in the gym 6 days a week, 2 hours a day and near on killing myself. Once you are there or thereabouts, then of course, move onto sculpturing your shape, and using gear can accentuate that for you.

Diet, TRAIN HARD, try and rest (not easy for most of us, sleep is a luxury enjoyed by a few)

Do not think that gear WON'T help you it will, without doubt, but a lot of that is mindset, and the absolute thrill feeling of "Superman" when on a cycle... Believe me, I know ;-)

outofacomic's picture

Damn! impressive progress bro.. keep that shit up! 6 days a week at 2hrs a session is what i was doing before i started my cycle. I did not see any noticeable change in my physique in the last 3-4 months training that many days at that many hours with the programing i had set up. Time for some tweaks! am now doing 4 days training with 4 days of fasted cardio in the morning. Much less volume and exercise selection and more focus on intensity.. taking everything to failure and then beyond.. then one more push, one more, one more.. can't move 2 inches. DONE!

DoctorDaz's picture

Now THAT is impressive. Tweaking your training mid cycle take balls, as you know what you USED to gain, well done ;-)

Tell me more of your program, as I think I'd like to mix my shit up too.. Hey, just seen a pic of me that someone else took, of my friend and I, you know the friend, the one who you always look at and think they are MASIVE compared to you? Well, pictures don't lie, and I am a lot bigger than him.. Took someone else pic for me to see that... You been there?

Training to failure is something I've been doing with the lads I train with.. DESTROYS me.. feels good too!!

outofacomic's picture

These changes were made before cycle started. not mid cycle. Haha yeah I know what you are talking about.. the guy you thought looks awesome but is now nothing compared to you lol. FR sent

Good for you man, what a transformation! As you well know like Mak said this thread was intended for the person that doesn't have a pre-existing condition as your self. Guys that think shooting gear will solve all their problems, sure they will get gains anyone would, but imagine if they were in shape prior to then started to put the armor on. Guys are trying to make sure and educate the younger ones before they cause them selves some major problems. As for yourself I'm sure you took the right approach and feel like a different man, you look it for sure. I'd be walking around with that chest out my man. Hard work and dedication!

PIN_CUSHION's picture

I'm sure you took the right approach. I'll bet that was a trip picking it up in Mexico, I wouldn't even know where to begin. I'd end up dealing with cartels or something, lol

PIN_CUSHION's picture

Nice, I know when I went there for my honeymoon, it was no problem getting a hold of "herb" at the time I was't even messing with roids.

mwagner630's picture

myself and my woman mwagsgurly i think are both exceptions to this, we both have health issues, i have had multiple surgeries, brain and spinal, she has been through hell and back, cancer and complications from surgeries and cancer treatments. AAS is used as a quality of life and to get in and stay in shape. but again the exception to the rule.

superman75's picture

goes to show you can't know what's going on in the inside of a person's life by looking on the outside, happy to hear you and your lady fought your way back to health bro.

superman75's picture

now I'm going to chime in with the exception to this rule. just follow me on this brother, I agree with 90% of this, the exception being your middle age man who is testosterone deficient. yes all the anabolic, androgenic derivatives of this hormone is not a wise choice to use while trying to get fit, however a man deficient in testosterone will improve his quality of life and chances of getting and staying fit by normalizing this deficiency. remember brother not everyone using aas are doing so for bodybuilding purposes.

superman75's picture

way to go Bucky, that's a long time to be feeling sick, congratulations on your dedication and health brother.

Makwa's picture

Good point, there is always an exception to the rule. TRT definitely is a special case where it is actually medically needed in order to just function like a normal man. I was just recently put on TRT myself. I guess the point that I was trying to get across is that anyone with normal T levels should not be using AAS to get into shape unless it is medically needed.
