WTF workout!!!
ad
I am stunned, which leads to annoyance, at many people's workout routines at my gym. I've never seen such asinine exercise routines and incorrect form in my life! It's so bad that it can get me off focus from my routine when I continually see this. What are they trying to accomplish? How did they ever come up with this? As a note, I work out at a "athletic club" and not a gym, so I know that is part of it. I've tried a few times to offer help, but most of these people are convinced that their dumbbell wrist twist is going to get them huge. I wish this didn't bother me so much, but it does. Anyone else run into this?

this post reminded me of why I hate internet forums. It makes me think, worry about stupid shit....
No offense op.
I've seen people with incredible bodies do exercises with horrible form, go figure...(arnold bent over bb rows)
These aren't people with in incredible body's that I'm referring to. They are those who would benefit from a good, solid routine, and form, but refuse to research any of it and continue to doing strange, ineffective stuff in the gym.
this is why theres a fb page called ackward gym moments lol, cause ppl will butcher all types of lifts and if you havent checked it out i suggest you do, shits hilarious. my personal fav to see in the gym is when guys end up doing some crazy variation of the worm when attemptng bent-over rows, or trying to do dumbbell curls and their whole body is rockng back and forth like theyre on the dance floor or some shit.
That would be funny to watch.
This is one of the many many reasons I have built a home gym. Gym idiots just tic me off.
Anonsame way people come up with their proposed steroid cycles.. too much reading on google and ill-education
I think its a complete piece together from google, their buddy, some exercise they saw a guy do once, etc. whether it's a cycle or workout, it's a complete disaster.
I have to get up at 5am to fit my workouts in and get to work on time. Point being I dont have time to jack around 1-2min rest then lift and move on. Equipment being used by someone completely wasting their time is my ultimate pet-piev!
Standing in front of the DBell rack doing curls that might as well be a quad/shoulder exercise I shit you not! Just one example. Now if the dude is doing it right waiting dosent bother me at all.
The trainers in my gym do on occasion piss me off. I was doing back extensions with 2 plates while the old ass trainer walked right infront of me. He would have walked into my head if I wouldent have dodged him. I dropped the plates removed my headphones and said are you fucking serious! It was almost as he did it on purpose.
ClassyChassisBut it was fun being awesome enough to dodge his stupid ass wasn't it?
ClassyChassisHa ha, I don't waste my time worrying about what other people do. That would be a never-ending job, and a thankless one at that. I've learned to let people be. As long as they let me be, it's all good.
Unless of course they're taking up the squat rack with their idiotic cheat curls. (-:
are you talking about people who turn their wrist outside when benching dumbbells? theres a lot worse shit i see going on at the REC on campus. people look like they fing invented a new exercise or some shit....
i think he means when people try to curl too much weight, they tend to pull the weight up and just twist their wrist and the top lol
I'm like WTF everytime I go to the gym. Its a large commercial type so you get every type, from young and old newbs to veterans. But there's always 2 or 3 who I see never gaining shit and doing the same old shit. It's weird to get pissed at it but I do, same with people using a squat rack to do curls or anything other than what it was made for. Busy gyms = lots of idiots!
I typically just go stand by them mirin while noddin my head.
StevebI see people squatting and they push off with their toes instead of their heal on the way up. That is a good way to fuck your back up quickly.
Yea you see too many kids without any foundation or direction it's sad. I also hate seeing guys that have used AAS in the gym and their bitch tits poke through their shirts, and they spend an hour doing tricep kickbacks. I'd say less than 10% have any sort of programming, and less than that is even worth a damn. BENCH SQUAT DEADLIFT SITUPS RUN only exercises you need if you're under 160 or not using AAS
What really bothers me is women on the leg press machine with 0-45lbs of weight doing 100 reps. THEY DO MORE WORK STANDING UP FROM A CHAIR!! Just retarded.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels this way. I guess what bothers me more is that the people doing it this way at my gym are adults. How about taking some time and researching things. I also gave my 18 yr old Arnold's encyclopedia of bodybuilding. He loves it and implements things from it all the time. It's just not that hard!!!
