Total and free testosterone
ad
I just had bloodwork and my total test is 2040 and my free test is 602. Does the free test seem high in comparison to the amount of total testosterone? I read a study that said taking 600mg of test e the free test range was around 275. I've been taking 500mg test e.

PcushionNot sure on the free test question, but overall looks low to me.
Yea I agree it's underdosed. I ran same amount last year from a reputable source and pulled 3600 total test.
I'm curious, do you think its more beneficial to have a higher total test or a higher free test than the average numbers? Say 4000 total and 300 free vs. My 2000 total and 600 free?
Nevermind I think I found the answer that total test is more important. The lower free test count means that a greater amount of testosterone will be bound.
PcushionFree test is what matters. The higher your free test the better. Your body can only use the free test for anabolic gains. Anything other than free test is converted to estrogen, DHT, or bound by SHBG.
Very good numbers. Keep your source lol
Alphamale500Were you being serious about him having very good numbers, or just kidding?
Nice !
Alphamale500In my last bloodwork I was using only a low level of test @150mg/wk, and my total test levels were 1628 ng/dl and my free test levels @315 pg/ml. The more free test you have, the better! Yours seems great actually! Are you also taking any other compounds that could lower your SHBG, thereby freeing up more testosterone and causing this higher free test level? Maybe something like Proviron, Winstrol, Anavar or something?
Something you should really be concerned with is if your gear is properly dosed. Granted, the test I was using with my bloodwork could possibly have been a little bit overdosed. But if you're taking 500mg/wk of test, then your total test levels should be in the area of 4500 to 5000 ng/dl. Typically in the avarage male, if you multiply your weekly testosterone dose by 10 you will get your approximate total test level.
Keep in mind that this is not an exact science, and the total test levels that certain doses will produce can vary in different people. But this formula will give you a good idea of your total test level in most men.
Even so, with the weekly dose you're taking, your total test level should be much higher than 2040 ng/dl. I would expect your range of 2040 ng/dl with a weekly dose of roughly 200 to 250mg. Btw, can you post pics of your bloodwork??
I dont think I've ever seen someone pull 5gs on 500mgs a week. I think most I have seen on 500mg was around 3500.
Im just going by bloods I've seen posted.
I duno about the times 10 theory. I dont really think doses are linear...
PcushionI pulled almost 5,000 on 400 mg test E from my source man. I agree with Alphamale. I think the op overall test should be higher running that much test. At the end of the day so many variables come into play when we pull our overall test levels. It’s hard to follow any rule of thumb or theory. Regardless I think the norm is for people to settle for less and quality isn’t what is should be with most sources.

Alphamale500Well said!
Alphamale500Like I said it's a rough estimate, and it's not an exact science. In fact, here's what I wrote in case you missed it:
"Keep in mind that this is not an exact science, and the total test levels that certain doses will produce can vary in different people. But this formula will give you a good idea of your total test level in most men."
Of course it's not going to hold true with every single man using exogenous testosterone. But as for the vast majority of men using testosterone it certainly is true. You would know that if you've been on trt and gear for as long as I have, and more importantly had as much frequent bloodwork for as many years as I have. Also, just from acquired knowledge from others in the trt community and through research. But granted, everyone's entitled to their own opinion.
But if you're just going by bloodwork that you've seen posted, and not by seeing actual clinical data from pharmaceutical doses of testosterone given under the care of an endocrinologist followed by bloodwork from a lab, then I don't even see how your comment holds any weight at all! So basically, all you're going going off of is a few lab posts from other people using UGL gear without really knowing any of the particulars like purity levels, dosage, proper injection techniques, other possible substances used, timing of dosages etc..?
Take a look at the beginning of your statements:
-"I duno about"
-"I dont think I've ever seen"
-"Im just going by bloods I've seen posted."
-"I dont think I've ever seen"
-"I dont really think"
How about stating something that you do know to be true, either from personal experience or something that you've learned through research! From these statements, it sounds like you really don't know shit about this topic! But that's totally fine because we're all here to learn and share what we know, and I'm not trying to purposely be hard on you or be a dick! But it's like when someone is trying to suggest that the sky isn't blue and you're looking right at it! So why don't you just try and learn instead of stating things that you "duno about"!
Btw, are you on trt? Do you get frequent bloodwork?
Have you had a chance to compare your trt bloodwork with others on trt? I'm assuming you're not on trt and do not get frequent bloodwork because of your previous statements. Also, because I've noticed that you've been a member here for about 5 years and you've never posted a single lab report. So I'd say you're not really the best person to contradict someone who is on trt and does get frequent bloodwork for many years now.
I was also running dbol from the same source although I'm not sure it was legit or it was underdosed as well.
Yea I was thinking the same thing about the test being underdosed. I had bloodwork last year running the same amount at 500mg/week and my total test was 3600. That was from a different source. I am running eq at 600mg and deca at 300mg weekly as well.
Alphamale500Do you have your bloodwork that you can post in your pics just so I can take a look? I'll send you a fr request so I can ask you something, so if you wanna accept..
I posted! The EQ I got from a different source which I believe is pretty legit considering my RBC
Alphamale500Imo, that RBC count isn't that high and could be at that level just from the test alone. So that doesn't prove your Eq is legit. I'm not saying it's not, I'm just saying that doesn't prove it is. Your liver enzymes are pretty high though! Do you take any liver health supplements? You really should.
A few good liver supps I'd recommend are Milk Thistle seed extract 80% silymarin content(250mg 3/day), Alpha-Lipoic-Acid(600mg 1/day), Phosphatidylcholine(840mg 2 twice/day), N-A-C(600mg 1/day), and Theracurmin[Turmeric root extract] 27% theracurmin(100mg 1/day). Theracurmin is a formulation of turmeric that has a very high absorption rate, unlike many other Turmeric/Curcumin supplements.
I use these supps with great results. You can check out my last bloodwork in my pics, and you can see I have perfect liver enzyme levels. And pretty much everything else. I take a bunch of different vitamins and supplements, lol!
Yea I've been taking N2Guard but definitely proves it's not working the best. I have some Tudca arriving Monday. I'll look into those that you mentioned.
Alphamale500Tudca is supposed to be good as well, but I haven't used it so I didn't wanna comment on it. Even adding just some Milk Thistle(80%silymarin content), should really help lower those enzyme levels. But the supps I mentioned, I can definitely vouch for. I wish you the best with that though!!
Appreciate all the input! Just trying to get right for comp next year!
Alphamale500All the best bro! Stay safe bro!
In my opinion a good number , test ist normally always 4-5 x higher than free test but most labs say only 100% or show >50.
