+ 1 Steroids Addiction

ad

I've read a few dozen articles where they say steroid addiction is a real thing. That it's a psychological addiction similiar to crack. I've also actually read about rehabs and detoxes that actually specialize in treating steroid addiction.

So my question is do you really believe steroid addicition is a real thing ? Or is this just another way for businesses and Dr's to make money ? Do you think a steroid addict would really suck a dick for a bottle of Test E ? They seem so different to me compared to heroin and crack addicts. That I personally don't believe it but still curious as to what all you guy think on the subject.

Thank you in advance for all your replies and feedback.

What next. Shaun is addicted to porn. Growmore is addicted to buying more gear. I am addicted to eroids. What's your thing?

Ozninjaguy's picture

I'm addicted to motorcycles. Played on an old Triumph underneath my Granny's house as a kid and bought my first one when I was 17. Never been without one since then. When I sell one and am in the process of finding another, I get depressed until I buy one. My escape from the realities of life is to get on a bike and go for a long ride alone, and I usually feel much better by the time I return home.

fusebox's picture

If that's an addiction then I'm addicted to hunting and fishing. Haven't gone longer than a couple weeks without doing one or the other since I was a kid. However our addiction is healthier than Shaun's. Lol

Yeah, some addictions are worse than others I guess. Don't know Shaun, but an alleged addiction to porn..I kind of get it, but it's not for me.

I don’t think steroids are physically addictive like crack or smack, but yes indeed they can be very addictive psychologically.

And not all addicts suck dick bro, only addicts of expensive heavily addictive substances. I’m addicted to nicotine and i dont blow fags for a fag lol

And not all addicts suck dick bro

Agreed. Some aren’t any fun at all.

Hi.

There was a interview here in the UK done by the guy who done that experiment and movie called: " From Monster to freak". Basically they guy( who is a PED Expert and starred in the movie mentioned) he interviews admits he is addicted to steroids but on a psychological level.

The mentioned dude started by a 6 months course of dbol and he became huge. He said he "cruises on 1 gram of test" .

Let me know if I am allowed to post the youtube video with the interview.

So I personally think it is a mind/psychological addiction not a drug like one where you will do anything to get it.

Living life...its addicting.

IrishMack's picture

Yes it is addictive, if you been around here as long as I have you will read about a lot of the members that joined were ex junkies, anyone with an addictive personality is susceptible to getting addicted. Shit I see so many that decide to just not stop and "cruise."
You replace one addiction with another. Take a look at the pics section of blast and cruisers that look like they just picked up a weight, they like the way they feel, that's addiction taking a grasp. Like any drug, if you abuse it you will become psychologically addicted as it becomes a habit. It's one of the things we learned in psychology. With my current classes in endocrinology the reason test is addictive in men is because it's a hormone that controls a shitload of functions. There are a couple articles about it floating around from the very same detox clinics that studied the men that go to the clinics to get off test, believe it or not. Most of them recovered and although their natural levels did not go back to normal, they did go above minimum. They also live normal happy lives once they got over the psychological aspects. I have class in a few days and will try and see if they are published on the net.

Anything can be turned into an unhealthy addiction. I believe steroids can very much be turned into something unhealthy. I’m actually a perfect example of that. I started running steroids very young and definitely not worried about my health. Running tons of different compounds and never coming off cycle. I ruined a lot of my natural hormone output. Not just testosterone. I think anything you do blindly and throw your health to the wind is an unhealthy addiction.
I do things a lot different now. But if you educate yourself. Come off when your suppose to come off. Help your body re establish its natural hormone output. Then steroids can be used in a healthier manner. Just my 2 cents

I think it's psychological. I have an old buddy who I quit talking to. He would always say he needed pinned to get in shape, pinned to lose weight and he would swear if he wasn't on gear he couldn't achieve gains or size or weight loss. It just turned into a joke. It was all in his head

Being an addict from actual hard drugs with some extended clean time I’d have to say no I don’t think AAS addiction is anything like that of heroin. However I would say I am addicted to the way I feel and how it makes my body look ever since my first cycle I planned on cycling AAS for as long as my body could handle it. I’ve never met someone who just did one cycle and said never again so there’s a slight mental addiction but nobody’s going to be knocking over liquor stores to get some test. Doing AAS improves most aspects of my live I’m more driven in all things I do so I would never put them in the same class as hard drugs

It's not about sucking pickles for test, it's what you just said, you plan on pinning for as long as you can which means you replaced one addiction with another. I have met people in my travels that cycled once and never did it again. They do exist.

It depends on what you consider addiction. It can become an obsessive compulsive habit, which could be considered an addiction. You can develop the same with coffee, porn, using your phone, a relationship, sugar or street drugs. I highly doubt there are many straight guys out there willing to blow another dude for some test though...

Ill contest to the porn addiction its real bro and its a thought one to kick.

I remember watching some show a long time ago about a kid that would just pin test and go clubbing..he didn't even lift.. I would say that's an addiction.
But I say what most of us do is definitely nothing like crack... I'm more addicted to lifting than to steroids.
