Reviews and legitimacy

ad

My 1st question is shouldn't both positive reviews and negative reviews be accompanied by blood work ? The reason I ask this is what if Jon A writes a positive review about a source and says his test is the best he has ever had. Then Jon B says his test from that source was underdosed or bunk. Who do I believe ? What if Jon A only has 1-2 cycles under his belt how does he know the difference between real test vs vegetable oil. What if Jon B had a horrible diet at the time and an awful training regimen.

My 2nd question is about the censorship of negative reviews. I thought Eroids was the equivalent of YELP for steroids. Why are all the negative reviews downvoted or deleted completely. Shouldn't myself as the consumer be able to see both the positive and negative reviews and make an informative decision without any bias. I feel the decision is being made for me when all the negative reviews are being downvoted or deleted.

So basically my question is why all the excessive censorship of negative reviews but no censorship with the possible false write up positive reviews?

This post is not to single out any source, this post is not to single out the mods, I actually wrote Pale and told him about this write up. I'am just very curious as to the answers on these 2 questions. Maybe there is something I'am not seeing or maybe overlooking.

I thank you in advance for all your replies, and greatly appreciate it.

Yes you did ask me about posting, but posted before I ever answered. I also believe I already explained to you why it seems more negative posts get flagged. Nine out of ten times they get flagged because they either did not wait 30 days or they never bothered to make contact with the source to try and remedy an issue. Second we are usually contacted by the source of the review is bullshit, so naturally we have to investigate. If the review passes it stands, if it doesn't it gets flagged. Greg and I are judge and jury, we were not just randomly picked to do this, our character and record here are why.

Also positive reviews far outnumber negatives, so the ratio is overwhelming.

Now I would neg you for this bullshit, but I figure everyone can have their say.

I post bloods for my test reviews and include a link in the review. But there are a couple reasons that you can’t require them.

  1. It’s not easy for everyone to get bloods. You know the states I’m referring to if you’re a person that gets bloods. And that’s just the US. Not all countries are easy either

  2. And this is the big one: not all reviews are for test. What do you want, people throwing up fucked lipids for a tren run? Or “the superdrol is FIRE, my liver values are in the hundreds!”. We just simply can’t test for most compounds.

As far as the flagged reviews go. They’re flagged because people don’t read the rules or are clearly fake. Period. Not really fair for you to assume they’re all negative. They’re either “pack landed can’t wait to use the gear!” Or “G2G!” Or “gear is FIYA!”... or my very favorite... reviews that reveal stealth packaging techniques and shipping locations.

Edit: I just read what inspired this post. You didn’t deserve any negs, BUT in all fairness, I’d have bloods if I wrote that AND it wasn’t flagged, was it?

The reason people down voted you was because you hadn’t contacted the source and you weren’t a member when the order was placed. I’m not one of the guys that down voted you but I think Pale made the right call. It looked odd. May not have been but it looked that way. The guys that hang out on si pages and promo pages don’t carry the clout that the guys I know from forums. That may be right or wrong but that’s what my judgement tells me..

People make orders all the time that aren’t Eroids members, but as far as contacting the source goes, If I was in that position of bad test I wouldn’t want replacements either. but I’d reach out to see how they handled it and include their response in my review.

If they were super cool about it and offered to replace it, you could say that in the review, even though you didn’t take the replacements. It shows good customer service. Same goes for if they were dicks about it, you could say that they were dicks about it even though you weren’t asking for anything.

Plus, if you made contact, it shows that you actually ordered the products.

Either way, like Sam said, you live and you learn.

Live and learn bro. Sometimes it’s best to cut your loses. The only way to get a guarantee is your Dr and local pharmacy..

People post good reviews with no bloodwork to back it up. Was it a great review? No. But I don’t think you deserved a neg. bloodwork would be ideal and nessasary if you were trying to get a refund or something, but you did provide detail of what you experienced. That’s just my 2 cents.

lol glad I could be of service

Mandating that blood work accompany a review would see the number of reviews plummet followed quickly by a lot of bogus blood lab post for the mods to have to sift through and flag. I think things like the promo whore thread and the reviews being scrutinized much more closely have made the reviews more accurate and honest than they ever have been. You know I was talking to another member about how things have changed so much in the past 2 or 3 years. Mostly I was saying it was negative change. I see that’s one positive I’ve been missing. Things like reviews, hi karma guys doing dirt with impunity and scam related BS from either end of the spectrum are under far better control than ever before. Hell yeahs!! for the MOD MOB.

My 2nd question is about the censorship of negative reviews. I thought Eroids was the equivalent of YELP for steroids. Why are all the negative reviews downvoted or deleted completely.

Flagged reviews (deleted) are flagged because they did not fit the requirement of being a review. (e.g. ordered but not yet used or other required details omitted) They tend to be good and bad reviews. Obvious fake reviews are flagged as well. Imagine having to sift through 3 pages of "good to go" reviews to read just a few helpful reviews.

So basically my question is why all the excessive censorship of negative reviews but no censorship with the possible false write up positive reviews?

That is a complete and utterly false assumption on your part. If you go back and look critically you'll see both good and bad reviews remain un-flagged. reviews are thumbed up or down by members for their usefulness just like amazon, google or yelp (did you find this review helpful?). Like yelp you'll see a cumulative rating from members (stars) saving you time from reading several pages of reviews.

Like yelp or any other review board it all requires you to do your homework. Know the reviewer, filter out BS claims (I gained 15 pounds of lean muscle in 6 weeks) and don't buy based on your own bias when all the signs are screaming Don't!

This website is a single tool in our arsenal to make an educated judgement call. Blood work is always a great addition. I will state that I can make my blood work show whatever I want, from hematocrit to LH.

I think this is a legitimate post however you just went through some bs on one of your reviews. You have to ask yourself is it personal? I think saying the negative reviews are censored is a stretch. There are far more reviews that are positive that are delete imo. If you don’t beleive me look at promo blacklist and ask one of those guys. I’ve also seen high ranking sources have reviews deleted for buying reviews.

Sam I Am's picture

I don’t think it should be deleted but in your review you said you should have taken bloods. Now you have a forum up saying bloods should be taken with reviews. That leads me to beleive it is personal. But honestly if the reviews were censored as you say wouldn’t Pale have deleted yours? Think about it. Nothing personal and I’m not saying your review was bogus but that’s how I see it.

I think you have good intentions. I actually didn’t do an order based on one of your reviews but I just don’t think things are censored like you say. PM anytime...

Very valid concerns, but I don't think the mods censor reviews bc they're negative, I feel like they do an awesome job sorting through the b.s. of shill reviews and reverse shilling.

That being said my strategy has been to ignore the 1 karma reviews and spend the time scrolling through and looking for reviews from the vets I know and trust on here. Then I'll pm them and ask what their current thoughts on the source are. And that's worked well for me. You can ask stairmaster for example, I pm'd him before asking him about certain products I know he's tried, and he's always been very gracious with his replies. Same goes for several other members.

I was doing this post mainly for newbies who won't do their homework

Why? I wouldn't, let them learn the hard way that research and homework is key in this game.

I have to agree. We’ve all made mistakes. Live , learn and don’t carry grudges.

Well said, it should be eroids slogan lol.

"Live, learn, don't carry grudges"

Or perhaps make a small banner at the top of the page lol.

herpjunkie111's picture

Very true, especially about not carrying grudges around here, several people I've locked horns with in the past here have become my best resources and favorite people to interact with.

You have to put the time in to sort the wheat from the chaff. Read page after page and look at the SI. Who’s writing what. Find a few guys who contribute solid info on the forums and see what they use. PM these guys after you’ve narrowed down a source or two. Eroids will not spoon feed anyone, but it’s the best resource out there, if you’re willing to put in the time and effort.

As for negative review being down voted, it does happen, but usually by fanboys of that source. Sometimes legitimately and other times not. I’ve been here a long time and I’ve NEVER seen any bias towards any legitimate source here by management. Again, it’s up to the member to put in the time and effort to sort the wheat from the chaff.

stairmaster's picture

Read the negative comments! They are mostly from "one day users" or written very bad/ too short/ too less detailed and so on... . There are also positive reviews which get downvoated, cause they are not detailed enough or simple include the sentence "very potent gear, great source, fast T/A" or "ordered product a , b and c" but haven't used jet.

Regarding quest one, no matter if u already ran 2 or 10 cycles u know if you have potent gear or not. If you're not sure, for whatever reason, do bloods (and post them).

Bloods are always welcome here, they are not only good for the members, also sources like it when you post bloods!

Sam I Am's picture

I agree.

There are a lot of trolls they write negative reviews. That’s why they get deleted. I’ve never seen a user with good karma, brings insight to Eroids and can legitimately prove he ordered from John Doe, leave a negative review and it get deleted. If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it’s prolly a duck. At the end of the day, you can go off reviews, but as we all know, we are all different. Trial and error my friend. Good luck.

You can PM me and I can tell you my trusted sources. Just like everything in this world, you need some experience and you get respect. Karma isn’t everything but I won’t read a review from someone with less then 10 karma, put the time in and you will get credit.

Karma doesn't meant shit and that's the truth. If you've been here long enough then you can tell the difference between a 1 karma member with an issue versus a 3karma member just here to drop a bad review to hurt another source or dropping a false review to boost a source. It happens all the time. There has been high ranking karma members who sold out for gear dropping shit reviews to get gear or trying to hurt good sources. So you can't go by the number attached to a name you have to research and trust your gut. If you do your homework you will be just fine picking a good source

JARHEAD2's picture

So basically my question is why all the excessive censorship of negative reviews but no censorship with the possible false write up positive reviews?

There is no censorship that I’m aware of at all. The only time a review is removed is if it’s premature or the op is trying to shill to gain free gear or to smear the name of a given source as a blackmail & either/or he has no legitimate complaint & can’t prove he purchased from the source. The fact that reviews are negged or given karma is supposed be due to the details or lack there of. That’s not to say someone or some people don’t abuse it, but that’s the purpose. Bloods are not required, but they are very much encouraged by both us as a whole & legitimate sources. While I agree it would be better, it’s unreasonable & unrealistic due to the amount of inactive members that blow through here & might not ever get bloods period & it would be cheating us & the source about an opinion, which is all a review is. It’s for that purpose that I only trust certain reviews when I’m inquiring & I encourage the same for others.

JARHEAD2's picture

No problem bro & your view is definitely relatable. Also I agree with the new folks needing to know this, there would possibly be a lot less scammed that way!!! I see folks complaining on an SI that’s not verified & has no credible reviews & wonder what they even were thinking! Lol
