+ 5 Self bleeding
ad
I'm lead to believe gear users should try and donate blood every couple of months or so to try to counteract the negative impacts of steroid use.
Unfortunately I cannot donate blood in the uk as I have tattoos and unable to make the impossible appointment times.
There is another gruesome option out there for me and my fellow gym rats and that's self bleeding. Anyone out there regularly self bleed or have even tried it? How sucsessful are/were you and what protocol do you follow?

I use canine blood bags from ebay.
5 minutes is all it takes to get to a pint
I do it every 8 weeks.
I'm flagged for another 4 years because of melanoma.
Could you possibly list the steps on how to do it mate?
easy
put bag on the ground, set a timer or have something in eye sight that keeps time.
insert 16 gauge needle that comes with the bag.
5 minutes should be plenty.
when you remove that needle youll want to be ready. blood will pour out of your arm and the needle.
you can weigh the bag before filling and after to see exact amount. so you can know if you need to go longer or shorter.
Awesome man + Thanks for your help
make sure you buy a bag with anti coagulant. a dry bag wont work
Couldn’t find them. Are you USA?
not finding anymore there

Solid contribution fella
Look at us lot talking on a 'Self Bleed' forum - We look like bloody Vampires Lol
Good post mate + I'm looking to do exactly this atm as I can tell it needs to be done. What pieces of equipment did you have to buy as when I've asked my medical supplier where I get pins from they won't advise as they aren't doctors as such?
Check out 1174’s post mate. He’s sourced a bag, tube and needle all for the job rather than making a DIY.
Take photos and share your experience mate
Mate I left a big post and asked him for his advice and help on the subject but he never bothered responding thats why I thought I'd ask you.
Basically just a collection bag, tube and the lovely big pink needle is all you need?
I’m sorry mate I can’t be of much help here as I didn’t participate in self letting myself. However to my knowledge that’s all you need.
Personally I would try and find a source in the uk to buy a designed blood letting needle, tube and bag.
I found it easy to donate with my local ‘blood’ team. Just don’t mention you use steroids, have had any recent tattoos etc.
I can post up a link if you want mate when I get home??
I bought 20 blood collection bags.....they work perfectly
Great stuff pal - you wanna PM me the link for the supplier?
Yes mate np
I'll hit you up after work ;)
That would be brilliant mate.
Np mate ;)
How long did the whole procedure take? Uuugh lol
From the blood donation? About 45 minutes in and out.
I think I'll stick to donating lol
They have an app now for donating blood. It is the bee's knees.
Sweet. Nice tip boss. I’m gonna look for it now
I remember there was a guy in my gym, his rbc was so high, that his whole body was tomato red, they brought him to hospital, doctors thought he had cancer lol, the idiot didn't tell doctors about the gear hes taking, is donating blood necessary when on primo? or it doesnt increase rbc?
It is a good practice whether you are on gear or not.

Can you get a doctor to write you a script or something? Fuck DIY blood letting. I’m not man enough for that shit. I’d be afraid I’d end up causing a blood clot or some other goofy shit I didn’t think was possible.
I was close mate, got everything ready but I couldn't do it.. these guys are tough fuckers doing their own blood letting.
I'm sure a local phlebotomist wouldn't mind doing it in a safe environment for a little cash if you explained the situation.
Yea that would be my move. These guys are way more man than I am.
I took me and my pink fluffy handbag to the donation centre.. ain't no man in me willing to try what these fellas are doing.
Great informative thread though and plenty of knowledge which is what eroids is all about.
I’d be right behind you with my purple glitter bag lol
And agreed all the way around. Glad you got it sorted boss
Haha. Right on brother, or should I say sister !
No you should say no homo. Lol. Both of you.
Ed...........Ed.............Edddddddddddddd.......
LOL
I refuse to no homo any of that. I stand by it. Lol!
LMFAO
Lol
I thought Queer Eye was being filmed in Atlanta, not Philly...
Hey man I didn’t even know it was being filmed at all, let alone where. Looks like I’m not the one that needs a no homo lol. Now that I know though, I hope they’re close to my work so I can audition on lunch!
I gotta go clean my heels, it’s been raining for like 3 days... ;)
Yep I am just not ready for the hard core stuff yet.
Lots of good information just in case I get drunk and want to give it a try. I will be content to give it to my local bank for now. :-)
Thumbs up anyway hahahah
Area-1255Nah, I'd like to keep my blood my own...besides, the recipients would likely be opening themselves up to some unsightly effects...or so they say ;D
AnonPretty confident I would be found in the bathtub, naked, a noose around my neck and a gerbel named Jerry in a cage next to the sink. I figure if there's a chance I would bleed out and die, I may as well set the scene for my family to wonder what the hell kind of weird shit I was in too.
Rofl
Never trust Jerry the gerbil to spot you when blood letting.. always ask someone responsible.

Perfect. Great share.

Good thread, good bump. +'s
I took a pint out 2/3 weeks ago as some antiquated rule prevented me donating.
Jimmy rigged a connection with a 3ml barrel into which i would put a 60ml syringe tobextract the blood at about 80ml a time. Used BFR straps and raised limbs to create pooling. Taped the 3ml and 19g vein needle in place so the 60ml'er wasnt moving and bruising the vein. Took out somewhere between 4-500ml.
Best tip to avoid bruising after the job done is a well pressed/then secured sterile bandage to stem needle hole bleeding and taped well in place. Ill try get a butterfly connection with a valve for next time.
Think ive a pic on the mobile I could post
