+ 5 Self bleeding

ad

I'm lead to believe gear users should try and donate blood every couple of months or so to try to counteract the negative impacts of steroid use.

Unfortunately I cannot donate blood in the uk as I have tattoos and unable to make the impossible appointment times.

There is another gruesome option out there for me and my fellow gym rats and that's self bleeding. Anyone out there regularly self bleed or have even tried it? How sucsessful are/were you and what protocol do you follow?

giardap's picture

This is the rig i used. 60 ml into a 3ml
This allows you to dram somewhere about 80ml a time
If you lower needle arm pool builds again (hold pool with straps or tourniquet, and raise limb if pool empties or hand gets cold)
Job done in a few mins with maybe 5 or 6 draws

Gentauni's picture

You're fuckin crazy bro hahahaha. I could never.

giardap's picture

LOL
Needs must pal!!

Faster than a bleedbag brotha, little messy though haha!

Gentauni's picture

Haha I got you, I can hook myself up to an IV, but drawing blood like that.. ahaha, tough.

Dextermorganlv's picture

for your own safety, I would suggest a collection bag kit next time. Just my thoughts bro

giardap's picture

In what sense?
Collection bags are good, just want to understand this safety concern?

Dextermorganlv's picture

I just think it would be easier to self administer a collection bag and draw needle over a syringe. I have never done either, so I am just assuming.

Huggybear1's picture

My balls definitely aren’t big enough to be doing this to myself. And no I don’t mean because of the steroids either! Lol

Check out the bleed bags 1174 posted
Look the biz

I pull a pint every 6 weeks now, I had really high hema, hemo, and rbc, and could not donate so I did some research and decided to do it myself, as everything I found states the only real way o lower these numbers was a blood draw. I am pulling a pint today actually.
buy blood collection kits here!

Wish I had known about this site last time I tried self bleeding. Thanks for sharing.

GrowMore's picture

Very informative bro. Thanks for contributing the photo I'm sure many will find it helpful.

On a side note thank my lucky stars I can donate through the NHS!

giardap's picture

Some people seem to bash the NHS, but mate we are extremely envious over here in Ireland

It's like something from the stone age here!
If you were a kid or youngish and spent a year in the UK (during crazy aids years) the Irish blood guys outright ban you. Its fkn insane. (Not that i have aids lol)
Get a tat and it used be banned for life but now its half a year ban or something.

My iron goes a little high in cycle = you must be dying of hemachroma blah bla - banned! Lol

Give me the NHS any anyday!!!

GrowMore's picture

I'm sure you realise the bashing of the NHS is either people with a side agenda or undereducated people.

We love the NHS, I just wish it wasn't bloated and being crippled by the obese and elderly.

Don't forget the millions of migrants who haven't payed a single penny into the system claiming free prescriptions and healthcare

Just like in good ol USA. Dont have a job? Dont want one? Have 3,4 5 kids, you will be the life of the party. Free food, free healthcare, free cash allowance. But "Oh, you over there, you have a job that barely pays your bills?" "Ah that sucks, we cant help you, you're just gonna have to suffer, yea your heat may be turned off or you have no phone or maybe your a little hungry tonight but think of all the poor fucks that rely on this system. We cant take away from them. We cant help you because you are an active human being! Become a lazy fuck, rely on the government for EVERYTHING and then you can get everything you want....no charge"

Yes sir!
that pretty much sounds like the UK.

And good honest people who can't even afford a day off work when they are ill are treated like scum, while the real scum live like royalty and have everything they could ever need.

Gets me so fucking mad bro

It's a dip in the ocean compared to the monster companies avoiding paying corporation tax back into the uk system.. amazon, apple, boots, Barclays to name a few..

If apple paid tax for one year it would be enough for 6 secondly schools..

People on benefits are small time compared to the big companies.

kibby's picture

Definitely mate 100% agree.

And just for the record I'm not getting at all people on benefits......some people have no choice and can't stand it (I was one of them).

It's the ones who see it as a god given right and a way of life that gets me.

But your definitely right mate these big companies, celebrities, and politicians are all avoiding taxes like the plague.

Juicebox, Jay, check out a tv show called;
"benefits street"

Good for a laugh!

GrowMore's picture

Yes we can't leave them out either.. wouldn't be fair if we didn't include them in something they haven't paid into right??

kibby's picture

Agreed!!!!!

This subject really gets to me mate......the scores of fat cunts and immigrants (a lot here illegally) bleeding the system dry.

To be fair most of the old people probably played there fair share

Ooops. Kind of old thread. Oh well

randys52's picture

I did yest. First time. Blood bank keeps missing or only getting 200 ml before clot. So. My shit is high and I have til feb 20th until they can "try" again

Dont rec this method but worked for me in about 15 min

I took a 22 ga catheter and with right hand started it in my big radial vein x 1 attempt. Snap needle back and advance cath all way (1 ") and then using only my right hand I hook up an extension (hardest part with 1 hand) and then took 10cc empty syringe and screwed onto a clave connection on extension. I quickly took 400cc with 40 syringe fulls. My only mistake was draing into sink. Got a massive nasty clot outerspace shit in my sink. Next time will use jar or coffee can then seal in plastic bag or put in large platic container and seal to throw away. Dont ever want to expose trash collectors to needles or bodily fluid.

Guess what? I feel terrific. Even a 10% excess in hgb/hct makes me so sluggish because arterioles cant receive as much 02 because of high blood viscosity. Like trying to run big complicated water statues with jello

Feel great. Freaked out RN wife tho. And she sees the diff in cognition. Scary kinda.

Pale's picture

I have been struggling to get one cup before I clot the last couple attempts. I am going to consciously get really hydrated before my next attempt.

giardap's picture

If you keep the tourniquet on and raise limbs somewhat (but lowering the needle arm a bit or periodically), the pool will keep building and wont clot... if you are drawing rather than bleeding

Pale's picture

Yea, I have always just let it free flow. I think I am unbanned from giving blood now and am not going to mention traveling anymore so I should be able to give.

giardap's picture

Id take that option too
The abbatoir look isnt all that!!!!

GrowMore's picture

Great share brother and I'm glad it worked out. Crazy how great you feel after you donate!

I'm realised that I'm able to donate over here in the uk and have done 2 times now.. booked my next appointment already.

I wish I was brace enough to do it myself and have mini blood let's inbetween the blood donations.

kibby's picture

Just think mate.........youve possibly saved two people's lives??????

AWESOME MATE!!!!

Honestly mate you won't regret it......in my eyes it's one of the most selfless things a person can do for a fellow human being.

You could be saveing a child's life even ;)

I guess one has to what you have to do. I give every 8 week's here and thank God I'm able to do so and it's used and I'm healthy.

I don't think I could do the self bleed thing, my big ass would be on the floor in the fetal position crying for my mommy.
.

GrowMore's picture

Couldn't be much worse than pinning quads could it?! Saying that if it was that easy I would of done it when I first thought!

zeb0312's picture

I never had a issue pinning quads I know some have. I was a little nervous that was about it.

Clemenza's picture

Ain't so gruesome. 16G pin with a 3ml barrel with the plunger removed. Used a 4 cup measuring cup and filled 2. Can't find solid info on gear not being passed on through blood to anyone that might receive it. Gruesome or ethical?! Every 8 weeks like a champ!

GrowMore's picture

I still haven't got round to it! Annoyingly enough placed an order for a years amount of pins and barrels. Should have looked at getting some 16G. I will update soon haha.

Clemenza's picture

I first tried it with a 20G pin because the thought of goin' larger wasn't cool. It was too small. When I bought the 16G, I was eyeballin' the 18G 'cause I still wanted it to be easier. Skipped that thought 'cause I didn't wanna keep sticking a vein only for it to clot up because of a small pin. I did mine standing up in the bathroom over the sink with the measuring cup in it with the cup turned so I was able to read it without having to move around much. Seemed like a good idea. I didn't time how long it took but it seemed too long. Back started tightening up. Sweating like crazy. Really need to be in a comfortable position. Maybe the bathtub? I bought 6 pins 16G from a well known Tractor and farm Supply store.

Pale's picture

I use 18's, it does take a good twenty minutes and can be uncomfortable after that long. But you get used to it.

Clemenza's picture

It took long, for me, with a 16. I didn't think the 16 was as bad as I imagined it would be. I would prefer donating and having someone else stick me. The only info I've come up with is being able to donate double red every 16 weeks on a TRT dose as being approved donating material.
I really wanna be proved wrong...serious shit.

Harley1969's picture

I just did a practice run of this and only drew out 2oz which is 1/8 of a pint. Used a 60cc syringe which seems awfully big and I would have had to fill 8 of them for a pint! I had my daughter do it who is in the medical field thank god.. I would not try this procedure myself! Went well although I was a bit queasy. Funny, I've gutted many deer but when it comes to my own blood I get the queasy feeling.

GrowMore's picture

Handy to have a daughter there who is qualified! Congrats anyway mate for your success.

Pale's picture

Yea bro, I just pull the stopper on a regular 3cc syringe and let it drain into a large measuring cup. The first time is a little scary but after that it is a cake walk

zeb0312's picture

If all else fails amputate right? :-)
