Protein shakes with meals for increased fat loss?

Supposedly no difference in lean mass. Might operate along the same concept as intermittent fasting. Any thoughts?

The study in question is a meta-analysis of a number of pieces of different types of research which have then had their conclusions qualitatively analyzed. I wouldn't be putting too much credence in their conclusions.

What about upping the protein ratio in the meal to match what the protein shake brought to the table?
When did they exercise in relation to the meal or shake?
Why drink a protein shake with a meal , why not just eat a chicken breast or a steak or a piece of fish with that meal instead .
It takes longer to pass through your intestines and you absorb more than you would if you would drink it on an empty stomach
Six weeks really isn’t long enough to make that claim imo.
I’d like to see longer studies as well. Just stumbled across this one and thought it was interesting.
