Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly have put out these statements. “58 Million patient years” LMFAO

The respective positions and rebuttals put forth by these big pharma companies include:

Novo Nordisk (Ozempic & Wegovy)Rebuttal Statement: Novo Nordisk has explicitly stated that the personal injury lawsuits filed against them are "without merit" and that they are "vigorously defending" themselves against the claims.Data Defense: A spokesperson for Novo Nordisk highlighted that semaglutide has a "well-established safety profile, supported by robust clinical development programs, with exposure from post-marketing use of over 58 million patient-years".Lack of Causality: The company points to a large, company-funded study analyzing randomized controlled trials of their GLP-1 medications, which found no increased risk of patients developing NAION. Their medical teams have maintained that data from internal assessments does not suggest a causal relationship.Eli Lilly (Mounjaro, Zepbound, & Trulicity)Rebuttal Statement: Eli Lilly has taken a more reserved but protective stance, stating that "patient safety" is its "top priority". While they have declined to comment extensively on active litigation, they state they will "continue to review data, including any data regarding ophthalmic issues."Legal and Clinical Argument: In court filings, Eli Lilly has asserted that current medical studies do not prove GLP-1 medications cause the condition. They maintain that their drugs are entirely safe and effective when used as directed.

This happens often with new drugs. Nobody knows the long term effects until long term comes. This is the reason I never jumped on the GLP train. There is still very little data.

That said, Im curious if other health markers may push certain populations to this issue. Like how many of these blindness case are among a healthy(ish) gym going group, vs fat lazy fucks that havent changed anything about their lifestyle apart from the GLP.

EDIT: I just want to add something. I know many people in this community use GLP drugs. But are they really that necessary? Dudes have been getting jacked and shredded for decades without them. Yall dont need that shit. I know its a bit hypocritical considering all the other stuff I (we) are using, and probably a very unpopular opinion, but I had to say it. And I respect if you disagree, but I havent and will never touch them.

Agree! Per research it appears as if its aimed towards diabetics. But considering the modern fda and newer to market. On point!

We are gonna have to wait and see how the evidence shows, and what Big Pharma's defense against the claims is, but im personally already decided.
