+ 12 Not to be alarmist or anything... but, this might save your life...
My mate (no, honestly, it was my buddy and not 'my mate' aka me!) called me 2 days ago to ask if a batch I was using was giving unusual PIP or other issues. It wasn't.
We have been running very different cycles, but have used 1 brand/product/batch in common. I have no probs, he does..... it's not the oil is what I'm getting at.
Long story short, his left pec looks like it has a baloon in it, swelling/inflammation/redness etc. etc. I knew the signs and brought him to the doc quick who gave him a referral to the hospital immediately upon examination. By the time we reached the hospital the redness / pain spread up his neck and into his face.
Turns out to be a cellulitus infection that 'somehow' got into the muscle... of course he used the old vit b 12 shots ploy but meanwhile he was put on an emergency antibiotics IV. Why? Because he was about to lose his sight and develop sepsis which might kill him fast if they couldn't control the infection. They did and he now receives daily home visits from a sexy nurse to admin his daily IV which they will do for another week.
Meanwhile... i quizz my buddy, who is an experienced fella, in great shape, moderate with his approach and use of compounds, knowledgeable on the do's and dont's etc. He is also a PT and has competed. All the good stuff. Well.... upon investigation... he had worked the night before as a PT, didnt shower due to tiredness did his shot the next morning. He didn't swab the bottle, the inj site or swap draw pin for new to inj. He didnt even aspirate. What he did do successfully was to collect bacteria in the pin... probably from his own body and the pin brought it down into the muscle where the infection began.
Just to reiterate and emphasise.... He almost lost his sight and could have DIED..... No exaggeration folks.
It really is the small things in life that count... like personal fricken hygene. Doesnt matter who we are and what we think we know... hygene matters and that is why these steps are a fundamental part of the ABC's of AAS usage.
Take heed folks, dont end up like my buddy.

Jesus flash! You don't do things by halfs mate.
When you say from a sponge do you mean the gear was suspended in an actual sponge???
The yellow sponge source bro. Not here anymore.
LMFAO!
Sorry mate I've never heard of them. I thought it was a very good form of stealth gear
Exalent post brother!!!!
Keeping us on our toes as usual....luckily I'm sort of OCD when it comes to hygiene lol The wife fucking loves it LMFAO
Long live OCD Kibby!!!
Clean fingers, happy wife LOL!
Lol!
I feel sorry for the hoover mate ;)
Last year I ended up getting a sterile absess. It happened because I forgot that I already pinned one of my delts and pinned it again. After training my delts I heard a popping noise and a few seconds after that my delt started to swell. I went to my pcp and he drained it with a few injections and then gave me antibiotics. I was told that this occurs when you inject your med and it gets kind of "stuck" in between the fat and muscle or even too much in one place and your body startes to fight it. I was lucky that it was caught when it was or I would be like your mate or even worse. So my lesson learned was always make sure I know where I injected last and keep the amount injected to the doctors standards.
Ouch. That makes sense... a sort of autoimmune response.
I think its a bit more than just being lucky though. You clearly had the smarts to get to the pcp before it got worse. We see people on here everyday that flat out refuse to go to the doctor for serious issues, let alone bloods and of course that stereotype of men thinking they dont need doctor has truth behind it too.
I must say actually... im totally guilty of completely ignoring the volume per muscle group recommendations in the past. It was actually one of your posts a good while back, about delts i think too, that got me focussed on not overdoing it. I didnt even answer that recent 'whats the most you have ever pinned?' thread - out of shame! But since reading your posting on max volume and doing some research into the various groups etc, Ive not looked back since and had no uneccessary pain/down time from idiotic injections. Thanks for that.
I knew something was wrong when my delt swelled 3 times its size and the next day I was at the docs office, I saw too many videos of the scarring and muscle wasting an infection can do. I follow medical journals about the dangers of too much medicine in one spot. I see a lot of people here that ignore it and inject over 3cc's in the delt or 5-7 cc's in their quads/glutes and it may be fine for a bit but some day it might creep up and bite them in the ass. Thats how a sterile absess is formed, too much in one spot or injecting without waiting at least 6-7 days. Hence why there are so many injection points to use on your body. I saw a post where one person was just injecting in their glute and that was it and we are talking every day injections. We warned him not to do it and he had a fuck all attitude. Fast forward the member no longer logs in here and we haven't heard from him since. Some people are too proud to admit when they were wrong. Anyways good post about your mate, some people have to learn the hard way.
It's easy to get complacent, I have done similar myself. Or on occasion just plain forgot.
Hopefully your mate will be back to his usual self before you know it.
Absolutely. I am sure we are all guilty at times.
Yeah hes on the mend now after a couple of treatments and the swelling is starting to come down.
Ive made him swear to sign up here and read Rusty's pip forum etc. So hopefully he will listen now
Good write up broski. Have to be clean or else. Hopefully someone on here reads this and it saves some pain. Always keep hand sanitize around, its better then nothing, throw some on a tissue, swap bottle top, pin location, and again after you pin.
This is exactly why every time you pin you have to take it seriously one mistake and you could either have a serious hole from an infection or as almost happened to your friend lose your sight or even die it's life and death for playing with it's not a game everybody be careful I hope your buddies okay man
Yeah he is in great form now buddy. It literally scared the crap out of him and rightly so but its safe to say he wont take any shortcuts again... which is a good thing!!
Wipe the the bottle, wipe your skin and swap pins.
Boom. And it's just that simple
Pale, you swab the pin itself?
He is talking about swapping pins after the draw.
no.
RustyhookerExcellent post!!! Whats on your skin is kept out BY the skin....until punctured.
Exactly! Its the same message as your PIP forums really Rusty isnt it. No shortcuts, do the basics or suffer the consequences!
RustyhookerThen reality can kick in and tge brainfart happens. We know better but get too relaxed on the prep.
GREAT post. Hygiene is SOOOOO IMPORTANT. I'm glad this story isn't a eulogy. Good reminder to all of us. +1
Eulogy. .... its frighteningly true Zeus
Good post as always mate! Safety first! I always have a hot shower pre and post injection always swab the area and the vials with different wipes! Can never be to careful or to clean!
Absolutey J!
AnonThanks for sharing man, I know it's easy to get careless when doing this stuff for awhile.
Give them a vote if you find it helpful.PermalinkAbsolutely. Nobody is immune from complacency so a timely reminder is only a good thing
Great post I’m sure we all have done risky injections before so this is a good reminder +1
None of us is immune really but man oh man, talk about being brought back to earth with a bang!
Great reminder. Injections should always have the same protocol and safety, each and every time. It’s when we’re “tired” or just flat out lazy, that we take shortcuts, which can be dangerous and even life threatening. Pinning can be tedious, but it’s part of the “game” and should always be done by the book.
Glad your friend is ok and you were there to help.
Thats it fella. People get caught up in the fun side, give it their full focus.... which is only right.... but forget the fundamentals. Sadly it only takes one bad pin to be in a world of pain
Thank you for sharing & thank you for the reminder!! It only takes on mistake for something to go horribly wrong. +1
Ill be straight with ya man, i dont think it was his first mistake. I know we can all get complacent with different things at different times but still....
Its one thing i wont be orgetting myself. The size of his oec was ridiculous and the speed at which the infection spread.... man oh man
Good post brother hope all is well.Cellulitus can be a terrible thing. My sister was in the hospital for three weeks with it on her leg.Started from a tiny scratch fro working in the garden.
Sorry to hear about your sis. That is frightening, how easily it can happen
Thanks man.She was fine after a few thousand dollars in pharmaceuticals. The bad thing is cellulitis can be resistant to many antibiotics. It can cost you big time.In my sisters case she was allergic to the first round of treatments. This a very good post and the little things we overlook can actually kill us!
Dam! Really glad he is ok. You're a good friend to have helped him out like that. I never want to hear bad news about someone but when we do it serves as a good reminder
Yeah well it was a kick in the ass reminder to him and me too. A scary one but those doctors were really good, they knew what they were looking at atraight away apparently
Must happen more often than we think
Must happen more often than we think
I'm sure it does. Its like anything in life thst we do regularly, we can become complacent until something like this happens and snaps us out of it.
Great post . We can never hear that enough.
Damn bro that is crazy. Respect to you for taking him to the Dr ASAP smart move so really you helped save his life man. Im so anal with every pin and get nervous every time just due to reading post like these. It only takes one wrong pin to screw ourselves up. Being anal enough already ill be even worse now. Hope your mate is feeling better and I hate he had to learn such a major lesson but at least he has learned it. Thanks for sharing this its a perfect reminder to us to practice safety safety safety each and every pin each and every time.
He is in flying form now dude. The anti b's seemed to work straight away. That said, how fast it spread up his neck to his face scared the bejaysus out of me. Hearing those words... could have died... seems to have scared some sense into him though which is a good thing
Close call though
Glad you're alright and feeling better.
Haha yep, albeit with an extra booby
Also got the doc to give me a 'John Travolta chin' while he was at it
Nice . Know you have three pecs and two buts...
And a bad attitude Sam! Dont forget the bad attitude is part of the package haha!
