+ 3 No Grunting, No Spitting, No Dropping the Weights....
Yesterday I watched Generation Iron. Phil Heath, made a comment, that pissed me off; "Those days off the hoodies and the dark gyms are dead". I really never like the guy, this is my opinion, I'm entitled to it, feel free to disagree. Moving on, I personally love the dungeons, I fit right in. I go to a "fitness club" and they stare at you, and as soon as they get the opportunity they come and cry about stuff. It's truly a pathetic site, to have someone say you can't do this exercise...or calm down etc.. In the dungeons, we feed off of it, your scream, your cry of pain, powers the next guy. Play time is over, it's time to get big...I wanna know where you like to train... do you like the dark hole in the wall, or the nice and clean fitness centers...

AnonBuild your own gym..do what you want!
Prefer getting down to business rather than the show pony affairs that are beciming the norm..aslong as there is a fan close by..I need that shit!
I have a good mix of both worlds. Its a big box gym, nice and clean, new equipment, dumbbells up to 200, pool, hot tubs, showers, 5 squat racks, 8 benches. And when me and my workout partner roll in with our chalk and belts and smelling salts, dropping weights and slamming shit around, NOBODY CARES! Of course there's the average gym goers that like to stare and are probably intimidated. But those who know us know that we're the nice guys in the gym, willing to help people learn and grow. It may not be Dorian's temple gym. But I do love where I lift.
I love my gym, the walls are cinder block and tin. Its definitely a dank, dark cavernous dungeon. Heavy metal always blaring, grunts, screams and sweat. Mostly all free weights and most machines there are plate loaded. No bumper plates everything is raw iron. The owner is cool as shit to (with gear and all). In all honesty I wouldnt have it any other way. Im not worried about lookin pretty with my snapback and those big headphones win I lift. I wanna flip a truck over!
I keep to myself when it comes to aas. I don't like the attention... work to hard for the little I have and don't want "the man" taking a piss on my life again.
We dont walk around boasting about or nothing but he knows whats up. He's old school on his ways dude is 60 and still in good shape but I see what your saying brotha maybe I should have worded it differently
I understand dude, im one of those people if one person knows, thats one too many.. lol
Lmao.....I understand bro
I like nice cardio equipment but wont sacrifice a concrete or rubber floor for a carpeted one that is pastel colored and has some bullshit easy easy listening playing from some cheesy muzak station...just saying ...when you lift on vacation at a resort its ok, but when its every day no way need dirty gym.:)
just walk inside with a handful of dirty and start covering stuff with it lol
My gym looks like a jail house gym the iron is so old they write the numbers with a marker. But it's the only hardcore gym in my area. I left golds gym and joined that no name local gym because it will force you to go hard. Everyone in their is a beast.
The owner won't even let you join if you can't bench minimum 10x265lbs or dead lift 315lbs. Sign every were that say if you racked it and you hurt your self it's your fault and remember you signed the waiver.
Sounds just like my spot bro....I love it there
Yeah same here kinda.. mostly powerlifters... lots of old beat up shit.... big tires, hammers all real iron.. no lat pull down, you do weighted chins LOL.. two cable towers bro... all free weights... use to be an old storage unit. knocked down all the walls and badda boom... hardcore shithole...LOL
Not a real people person here. I'm just not good with new people. I'm more of an introvert. The shy type I guess so I'm happy to workout in my attached garage. I sacrificed my parking space for it but it's well worth it. The only real downfall is I never have a spotter. I listen to what ever I want. Watch whatever I want. Wear what ever I want. Hell my favorite workout outfit is a pair of pajama shorts. I'm pretty happy with it. No drama, nobody watching you. I'm guilty of putting more weight on than I should be working out with I admit it. I don't do that in my garage. So I have more quality lifts. I don't know it's just my opinion....... Oh yeah it's well lit too. Lol What I need most is some mirrors so I can watch my form. This would help. Not a big mirror person though.....
I use to be stuck in the mirror bro, every set, had to look... it took a little time to realize, how foolish I must have looked, but I don't care what people think of me now... it's about me and my dreams, to hell with them LOL... I can relate with watching form in the mirror to bro, over time I started closing my eyes, during sets and really concentration on the stretch and contract. I really don't concern myself with how much anymore, theres a million powerlifter where I train and they are beast... so its a competition I'm not concern with... it's somewhat appealing, and I "cross train" both strength and muscle development. I am following the 70's everything about it, minus their terrible cycling...lol... but thats cool bro, no gym dues and bottom line no BS.
It's nice and I think the positives of having my own place way out weigh the negatives. I hated having a routine set up only to have someone using the equipment you need so you have to wait or do something else. It wouldn't bother me as much if they were working hard and trying to get through because they knew other people needed it too. It's the effing snot nose kids that do 4 or 5 reps and then sit there and text for 5 minutes in between sets that piss you off...... You know what I mean?
LOL.. I do know what you mean... sometimes I envision myself drop kicking them off the machine.. but usually I'll eye it for a few minutes, if they dude isn't serious, I pop the question, how many more sets bro? Mind if I work in, start piling weights regardless... 4 more turns into 1 more LOL
Lol wish I had a hardcore gym by me live in a tiny area so I'm forced to go to a gym that listens to Britney spears. Give me a place where I can scream if I break a personal record any day instead of having to wait for senior citizens to get out of the way
Yeah that is a totally boner dude, must get some killer pumps listening to Britney Spears LOL.. I would get some head phones dude... I don't train with music... focus on the exercise and my goals. It distracts me, lose my pump and then it's all downhill...
Just an example they listen to what my gf listens to ta dance lol got head phones without them my workouts would suck that music kills the mood for me lol
lol I could only imagine how much a distraction that stuff can cause.. I walked into on a friend benching and as soon as I walked by him the song "I got the power" came on... I yelled it and fucked his set up LOL.. dick move, but it was worth the laugh bro.
U can't joke at nice gyms lol they would clearly come over and tell u roughens to calm down
I kinda liked planet fitness... so many women
Jesus Christ...
It's awesome when you bag the attendant's. She took me out one weekend. Smoking lil Italian chick. We went to a nicer planet fitness. Worked up a good sweat. SHe took me back to her home, then I tossed her under the coffee table and trew her a good sod.
I don't really have a dungeon style gym within range, but I think I would prefer it to what we have. I do like nice equipment tho.
That sucks bro... I'm running for president.. hardcore gyms for EVERY county in the country... LOL... Up to yesterday I had a membership with a nice gym and a hardcore gym... Got kicked out of the nice gym today.. so I'll stick with where I belong... I only really used the nice gym for the tanning booth, had a few friends.. fudge it.. I want to open my own gym bro, an old airplane hangar... hardcore dirty.. maybe an airplane hanging from the ceiling. I have the vision bro, just have to chase the dreams.
