MUTHAF@#IN PAIN !! SCIATICA!!
Ok so I have issues with this on and off for two years. Normally some anti- inflammatory drugs a little rest and im good to go. Well my latest flare up has continued for over a month. It is also by far to most painful i have ever had. I mean sitting in a car or sitting on the shitter damn near puts me in tears! Feels like a knife in my right ass cheek and shoots pain down to the middle of my calf. I have many injuries from sports but this is by far the worst. Ok so i finally went to see my doc.this morn. And she prescribed prednizone, motrin and vicodin. Also was referred to see an ortho surg. On the 31st. My question to everyone is what treatments have worked for you. She was talking about cortizone shots, and surgery. She thinks its a bulging disc because im not having muscle.spasms or injuries in around my core. She def. Mentiones my core being in great shape so it isnt lack of support for my body. I really.dont want to.fuck with surgery on my spine im only 30 and wouldnt a cortizone ahot only mask the problm?? I appreciate everyones input as im finally rebuilding this.castle.of mine to only.be.set back by.this and want to mend my condtion asap. Thanks D_III

For sure I'd give an acupuncturist a shot. Like anything though, make sure you research and find the best one around. The downside being lots of insurance companies don't cover it and you have to pay out of pocket and it's pretty pricey. In the long run though it's well worth it at just about any cost to feel better.
I talked with a good dude from the gym tonight about a quailty chiropractor, i guess there are different level or certifications of chiropractors. He recomended someone within my insurance plan which is a must. He has been going to this doc for 20 plus years and would not steer me in the wrong direction. I have nwver been to a chiropractor before so should be interesting. As far as mri goes im schedule for one on the 31st. However hopefully i can see a chriopractor before hand. And concerning the prescriptions, i am to only take prednisone for 7 days, and may use the vicodin at nite. I have had my run around with painkillers about 7 years ago and this is the first time since 2006 that I have taken any sort of opiate. Put it this way for you, im on cycle now and check Bp daily and never have i had high blood pressure until, yesterday it was 140 /93 and at docs office today it was 140/108. Like i said pain was excuraiting. With a pulse of 116. So this doc wasnt just pushing drugs. She is a great doc and has been physician for 15 years.
Joosemanthis combo will tear your body apart brother.. docs just pushing drugs for the hell of it
Did you get MRI?
Ace VenturaI had, quite possibly, the best chiropractor in the state. Great credentials, tons of experience with both auto accident injuries and sports injuries. My sciatica started at age 30. Chiropractor didn't work, two different places for physical therapy didn't work. I had two mri's over six months apart and it showed that the bulge had gotten worse. I tried an injection, which gave me some relief, but only for a day. After all this failed, at age 31 I went for surgery, an L5/S1 micro discectomy. I'd do it again if I had to. I still have slight discomfort from nerve damage, which is probably permanent, but nowhere near the pain I had before surgery. Couldn't sit on a couch etc etc. Life basically sucked. Now I'm squatting, dead lifting, whatever else. It took a while to make it back, but I'm glad I didn't wait any longer.
Short and simple answer....find yourself a GOOD chiropractor. I'm not talking any run of the mill joe blow in a strip mall. Find one that will take a good history, exam, and X-rays. If you look hard enough you should be able to find a sports chiropractor who has experience in treating hundreds of cases similar to yours.
