More risk ordering to a small town?

ad

I have a question about ordering and location. I live in a small Midwest town of about 18,000. I had planned on ordering to my house but I'm wondering if there is more scrutiny in a town of my size when receiving packages. The source is international, so I'm worried about my postman getting suspicious and local Barney Fife's with something to prove. I moved here about five years ago from a major metro area and it seems like the local LE waste their time on things that LE in a big city wouldn't even bother with.

Is this a non-issue? Would I be better off renting a mailbox in a metro area about an hour and a half away from me? Any help or advice here would be greatly appreciated. I just want to make sure my family is safe as I have a wife and kids.

do like I do and use receivers to collect your mail.

Small town! Mine is maybe 300. Lots of online ordering here.

You have got no problem there-my neighbor is a mail carrier in a small town, and he says that BECAUSE it is a small town-they mail order more stuff because he gets to deliver packages from all over the world to this small town! See what he means? Youre good to go man..

I appreciate everyone's replies. Yeah, maybe I'm being a bit paranoid but I feel like it is better to be overly careful versus reckless. It helps to hear reassurance from people who have experience! Thanks guys!

I can't control what someone sends me in the mail. When I hear about my source go down on national news then and only then will I be worried.

Small town of 18,000. That's a metropolis. In my small town I ride out to Sturgis with the whole police force (all six of them) and if I'm not home when the mail lady comes she just comes inside and puts my packages on the counter and leaves some dog treats for my dogs. Never had any problems with people questioning packages.

Lol! I used to do that until I realized that I had the same mailman all year round but for about 3 seperate weeks out of the year Phil Miller got a shit ton of packs at my house. That looked suspicious as fuck.

I think it's safer, I live in a smaller town, I know all 5 cops and the cars they drive.

Internet buying is so prolific theses days no one is going to bat an eye about international mail.

Your probably good man, people send shit in the mail all day long lol in my personal opinion I try to avoid international orders because of course there comes US customs and lots of other obstacles than just ordering US domestic. Which is smooth most of the time and gets to your door really quickly. But yeah man you should be good, you'll be tripping out until that pack is at your door...it's the scared American in all of us lol

you are just paranoid, people get mail all over, ask the mailman he couldn't care less about your package as long as its delivered ...

Jeeeeuz! "Small Town" of 18,000? WTF? Come to Britain! I live in a small town, well village really. Around 3,000 of us. And I get shit from all over the world. Unless you aren't telling us something, then don't panic brother :-)

Don't take this as gospel but unless anyone has a reason to believe you are up to something shady then I would say it's fine. People get mail. People buy things online all the time. If it makes you feel more secure, rent a box but there is risk no matter what.

Order domestic. Plenty of great sources.

I second NoPain on this. I am sure there are many of us that live in small towns here.
