+ 5 Just got back from my Acupuncurist...

ad

So I just got back from my Acupuncturist, elbow tendon is getting kind of serious...I know many of you guys troll around in the eroids back alleys looking for pills but I am a "solution guy" not a "quick fix guy"

So YES my tendon is fucked, YES after a single treatment it feels a helluva lot better (will continue once a week til I am back on track) and YES Acupuncture really works!

Now the interesting thing was what my miraculously wise Chinaman had to say to me about causation - I'm out of balance due to over training upper body and need to do more legwork (Sound familiar fellas?) His recommendation through Ancient Wisdom to me was - MORE SQUATS! LMFAO!

So all you guys who are pussies when it comes to legs (myself included) chicken legs are not the worst of your problems. When body parts are unbalanced the body tends to favor the stronger muscle groups which causes wear an tear on the weaker muscle groups which will not only cause disproportioning but can lead to injury.

Acupuncture is awesome i go every week religiously..it helps enormously with injuries and overall immune support and even the herbs they prescribe are wondrous....i suppose there is something to be said for 3000 year old medicine

hey stranger... My point exactly

Cool, I always wanted to try one, but my VA benefits wont pay for Eastern-Medicine type of methods, so no herbology or acupuncture reimbursement. They did let me see a chiropractor while I was in. I guess it was something new they were trying out, but you have to go to them long term for the effectiveness. I wish I could find one in my area that doesn't charge an arm and a leg for out of pocket expenses.

brother if you are in this for the long haul (and serious) we are already into it for $100's of $ per month

Would have never fingered you for an acupuncture guy. I spend alot of time in China, going back next week. Broke my back playing hockey when I was young, had back pain all my life, was recomended by a local contact there10 years ago and I go back everytime I'm there. No more pain, better flexability and an overall feeling of well being. I hit one here as well if it's been to long.

NoPain's picture

I've deal with back pain for many years (bad car accident) and recently been having more problems. The only thing I haven't tried is accupuncture. Do you think it is worth it for back problems?

HllwdBdBoy's picture

look bro, nature has the uncanny ability to correct itself... poison ivy (oak and sumac) all have plants that grow in the center of them to counteract the reaction most have to these plants... Surgery and pills have been around for a cpl hundred years - Acupuncture and herbs have been around for thousands of years. Western civilization is conditioned with arrogance, prejudice and fear of what we don't understand.... A billion Chinese can't be wrong ;)

I agree. There is the old saying western medicine helps to prolong illness while eastern gets to the root to cure it. The majority of western medications are given to treat the symptoms not get at the systemic issue. I have had acupuncture for 23 years, for mobility and pain it works almost instantly.

What made you decide to go to an acupuncturist for this pain? In what I have looked up for the exact same thing nothing suggested acupuncture. That was 1 of the reasons I used TB500. Nothing short of going to a Dr was all I found to be a permanent fix. That or quit doing what was causing the pain. TB works but it cost and I'm not 100% either. I don't like Dr's I rather try Alternative medicine any time less it's a true emergency.

Eastern philosophy, wisdom and medicine is logic and fact based bro, I've never been to keen on the "how to's" of the western ways

manbearpig's picture

i could picture a little old chinese guy telling you to do squats. lmao great stuff.

I'm glad you posted this I was just coming over to the forums to search tendinitis quick fix lol cause HGH isn't helping. I guess I'll give this a try. Btw I workout my legs so I don't know about that I'm really staring to think my tendons are just at their limits as I'm always inflaming, pulling or straining them.

VIKING EVOLUTION's picture

Your man cant help me bro.. he tried but he bent all his pins on this cast! its like fkn concrete and doing my skull in already lol... all i can do is pec dec with forearm pads and legs...... so thats 2 of us FUCKED for a few weeks.

Missing the odd training is more acceptable than missing a meal though..... keep the cals up bro i promise your weight will stick around until you can go into full attack mode again.

Yep, I have the same problem. The tendon in my left elbow is shot and it was coming to the point where I thought I was going to have to leave the gym. I decide to quit lifting heavy and just focus on squeezing, pumping, and contracting the muscle with moderate weight. My ego and pride went down but so did my joint pain. Had the same problem with back pain till I started working on abs and legs. Balance is very important. Good post, will have to give acupuncture shot next go

Is it the tendon that you feel on the inside of the arm more on the forearm side? My left side has been acting up for awhile now, wide grip pull ups end in pain. I know of an acupuncture place not too far from me I am very interested in your results.

HllwdBdBoy's picture

The inside, the outer is the ulna nerve and I'd be surprised if anyone on this site didn't have that problem... Acupuncture will do wonders bro, but also for ulna nerve reverse curls light bar only does wonders to fend it off

Pale's picture

I have been doing the reverse curls first for biceps now for at least the last 4-6 weeks, it does help.

tonytulo's picture

do they do acupuncture for back pain etc? or just for tendon muscle damage.

HllwdBdBoy's picture

Acupuncture is FULL BODY - muscles, tendons, joints, circulation, digestion etc.... everything bro!

tonytulo's picture

I deff might look into this would help with my lower back for sure. had an accident way back at work backs never been the same chiropractor has made it feel a little better wonder how this would do. thanks bro

treadinontren's picture

I'm in the minority I love doing legs...hope your tendon gets better bro...best wishes

How long was the treatment ?

Owes a Review × 1
HllwdBdBoy's picture

1st treatment was about 45 minutes, I have some micro pins on a few key spots to keep on for 24 hrs

Gymjunkie01's picture

I've often thought about it for my shoulder but never put a lot of faith into it.. I might have to just try it

The body truly is an amazing thing. Traditional squats hurt my knees so I've switched to front squats, seems to help. Another exercise that I really feel is a split leg hack squat? I'm sure there's a proper name for it but basically stagger your legs with the barbell in between them and perform a squat like you would a hack squat.

HllwdBdBoy's picture

I'm mid 40's bro, hacks all the way

PIN_CUSHION's picture

lol, at least you can still "hack" it

tonytulo's picture

its called a Jefferson squat when in between your legs.

PIN_CUSHION's picture

thank you for that

tonytulo's picture

np I swear by hacks tho I do them tom plats style got a lot of growth from it.

PIN_CUSHION's picture

I like em. Also one that is over looked but is great for stretching the quads are sissy squats, it's actually pretty damn hard to do.
