+ 23 IMPORTANT - eroids Integrity
We have had a problem, and probably will always have a problem, with gear whores. There has been lots of scolding sources for violations of the rules, but in this situation we have a list of members that all want to participate in an illegal PM promo and not inform MODs.
Integrity.
An interesting word, one that I personally value very highly in both my personal and professional capacities. In an online community such as this, integrity is a highly valued commodity, which makes me all the more disappointed to write this post.
Let's take a look at a scenario I've been investigating. An unverified source sends out a pm promo to a list of members offering freebies, quite a lengthy list at that. In the sources eyes, they're trying to get a head start on promoting their business. What should the member do? Apparently what a lot of you do is throw your integrity out of the window and accept the freebies in exchange for a review. It's a unverified source selling on pm, do I REALLY need to spell out the rules? Some of the names on the list are folks that have been here as long as I have. Folks that 100% know this isn't acceptable and won't be tolerated.
Let's consider what happens if everybody behaves like this. Plain and simply, it jeopardises everybody's safety. It's not just the mod team that are responsible, each and every one of you are a part of a unit that limits a sources ability to pull stunts. Just a few weak links in the chain can devalue our reviews process, you should all be aware that should you receive a pm of this nature you should contact a mod.
We will be cleaning up on this kind of behavior.

I think it is more rampant than what's been posted....Just look at all the new unverified sources and how many members run to their page screaming FR SENT....I Think guy's no exactly what they are doing because when they leave their reviews No where does it state they received gear for free....and that can be mis leading...Thats how scammers grow they wait for the huge following led by the high ranking members then dip out with everyone's money....And then those same high ranked members just nod and go "ah man its the business were in".....Look man money is tight everywhere and I can see where guy's can be lured in but what I am asking is for you question if it's worth ruining your reputation....You can say you didn't no it was a rule but I am new here and knew that was a rule I didn't need to read it to know that taking free gear and giving a review could be deceitful and is frowned upon....Take your lumps like a man and move on I know some of you guys will grow from this Good luck
Well I would like to apologize to the members here on eroids on this issue. I guess the lesson learned here is to not accept a fr from any source that i am actively not conducting business with. If this situation rises again a mod will certainly be getting a pm from me.
The gray area that I see is that unverified sources conduct business in the open here but in pm it is not acceptable. Again lesson learned. Sorry erodians.
I've spent the last half hour checking over the rules and I haven't found amyrhinf tha says 1) I can't accept free gear and leave an honest review about it or 2) I have to contact a mod if someone makes an offer. Maybe there is a place in the offical rules where it's started but if not how can you fairly take 200 points from me? I haven't even been here that long so Ivw never seen a post like this come up and even if it did unwritten rules are bullshit. If someone sends me free gear and it's shit I'm gonna leave a review saying it's shit. This is the first time this has happened to me and for the record he never even sent me anything, and I never heard back from him.
As an exp member we are expected to know and follow all the rules, but if we don't know that's a rule how are we supposed to follow it. I've spoken to some other exp members who were not implicated in this and they stated the same thing they did not know we have to contact a mod if this happens.
Look at this list, basically eveyone on that there got there karma from post pictures of there biceps while I spend hundreds of hours helping people. It's just not right. I understand you need to treat everyone equal, but not all adv and exp are created equal.
RustyhookerVERIFIED sources have long given extras or a few freebies to their regular customers. The integrity comes in by posting pics, gains, losses that prove or disprove tbe quality, pip, services etc. an old number one had a product that was gnarly pip....and i posted it. He didn't like it, but i didn't want folks thinkung it was cake.
UNVERIFIED sources will find ranked members that dont know better and use you as a sucker. It's knowledge bumps bro. I effed up in the past. Just dont repeat.
Ya it makes sense to me now. Took some thinking to understand what the problem is but i understand now. It wont happen again.

This is about purchasing, but the list is about not reporting contact from a source.
That post is for "purchasing" from unverified sources which has been stated by Mods is simply not smart, not that is illegal!

That was not the case here. Were all getting docked for not contacting a mod about this after we were sent a message from the source accepting the offer or not it doenst matter. This loss of karma was for not contacting a mod after he messaged us.
I'm not trying to bust your balls here. I only posted that because you said above that you didn't see that it was a rule. You're right in saying it's not in the official rules, but it is a "sticky" in the rules forum. Just an FYI.
This does suck and I'm sure your intent wasn't to break any rules. It's a harsh lesson, but I hope that you stick around and keep contributing.
at the very least people who did not accept should not lose any points. I accepted so take mine but nobody knows they need to contact a mod when thay happens. It's just not right to take huge amounts of karma for a unwritten rule and you're gonna take the same amount from eveyone. I see one other person on that list that acctually contributes something to this forum the rest don't. They reached there levels of karma by posting pictures while I spent way to much time answering repetitive questions and making sure people don't fuck them selves

There has been post after post of this happening though, I believe Roid had a huge one up in the past 6 months and so did hllywood. Its not unwritten at all if you do a search you can find it at least a dozen times. You give solid advice so you will gain it back quick, just chalk it up as lesson learned Bro.
Ya I guess you're right. It just sucks look at that list. How many of those people are in the forums helping and earned there karma that way. I worked my fucking ass off for mine answering stupid basic questions that are easily answered by a quick google search and writing out 10 minute long paragraphs to young kids about why they shouldn't be using steroids. And most of these people got all theres from posting pictures of themselves and gear. its juts not the same for them losing karma. Hence why nobody else is saying shit. Ive never done anything else wrong.
Relax. Remember where you got it from and that knowledge alone should make you feel better. Come out of this strong and keep fighting the good fight.

Besides the huge issue of integrity, I just don't understand why anyone would want gear from a source that isn't well vetted. Doesn't anyone care what they're putting into their body by dealing with an unverified, unknown source? I know we're all taking a risk with UGL, but with a little research, you can find out who has consistently put out clean and quality gear. Why risk you're health AND your integrity to save a few bucks? I just don't understand....
Come on guys. I see a lot of good guys on the list a above. I know it's tempting, but free gear isn't worth being put on blast like this. We have great legit promos here so sit back and take advantage of those. Then you won't have to get involved with the shady ones.

If you're a source and want to promote yourself, then get approved, develop a great product, then get involved with the promo program here on eroids. The EBC was a great tool for sources, and it gave members a sense of accompishment as well.
Online steroid sales have absolutely skyrocketed over the past 5 years. You used to be able to count the number of legit sources on two hands. Now, the vultures are lining up. At some point one has to wonder when the hammer is going to drop, and all it will take is some kid sitting in a JR. High locker room injecting directly into a vein...who happens to be the son of a cop or politician, popular, wealthy, or a star player. Once the media snags it, there's going to be some fire, and these maggot scammers will make it hot for all of us---at least for a while.
Great job MODs......but I have to admit that I do at least partially understand the members accepting free gear (I said I understand....not agree)... We are in the middle of what will ultimately be viewed as an economic collapse, and money is getting harder to come by----people sometimes do things they wouldnt otherwise do. I always try to work with people who are a little short.

I just have a habit of ignoring anything that looks like an FR from a SRC...I always find it weird why a src would want to FR me if I've never chatted them before...and in the past I have actually turned them into vike especially when they have a website etc posted in their about...

I got offered some freebies but just ignored the PM, I didn't respond. In hindsight I should or contacted a mod. The unverified source was banned a few days later, and the PM disappeared with him.
I take this place seriously and have tried to help/contribute best I can, I've even been exceptionally critical of members involved in sketchy looking shit like this in the past. So to see my name tagged with "no integrity" and "illegal PM promo" makes it hard to swallow my pride and hold my hands up to the above statements when not all accusations exactly fit, there is no doubt i obviously didn't have the best interest of the site and members at the time.
I also know no one wants to hear excuses or the word 'but' during an apology so to all members and Mods I apologise for fucking up with this unverified source and breaking an eroids rule. Punishment is accepted.

Good to know the mod team is looking out for us. Thought the whole idea of this site was to make sure we have a place to rank sources and their integrity kind of hard to do if the majority dont have any integrity anyways. I was always told if you get something for nothing what do you have, youve got nothing. If i was offered something for free it would worry me why it was free just saying. Sucks cause theres a few of these guys who really contribute to this site . Hopefully things start to change here for the better if they dont the system will start to fail and the site that many have grown to depend on for information about our lifestyles will go down the shitter and the scammers will run rampet. What i dont get is why not run a regular promo to receive a free bottle of prop to get your name out or to boost your sales in the promos section instead if sending shit through pms begging for good reviews if your product is good the reviews will come right?
Probably the fact is that it is an unverified source and it's probably unverified for a reason. You see it in the gear pic section someone posts a pic up of some gear from an unverified source and immediately you see a bunch of people asking for friend requests. I dobwhole heartedly agree with you about this being a site that many depend on. The amount of information at our fingertips is unparalleled. Plus the actual advice available from all the personal experiences. You can't get it anywhere else. So for that I thank the mod team for looking out for us.
