+ 8 Have you told anyone you're on PEDS ?
ad
Hi everyone on Eroids!
I was just wondering if anyone has told their loved ones, family members, or spouse that you're on steroids.
I haven't told anyone and don't feel comfortable doing so. I'm just worried I'll be severely judged for it. I can't tell my doctor because I'm afraid he'll flag me as a risky patient and my insurance will go up.
I can't tell my family because none of them would understand. I can't tell my close friends because they'll judge me or talk about me behind my back.
I'm just curious if anyone has disclosed their steroid use to someone and how that conversation went.
Much love and respect! I love this community and how we look out for each other!
Kind regards,
Em

Share your personal matters only with the person who loves you,if they deserve to know. The rest will only betray you; it’s just a matter of time.
I think I could tell my partner and my brother, I think It'll be fine not a fun conversation. They'll have loads of questions.
But anyone else nah... I'm good, I'll just say I'm eating austrich eggs everyday. Like Mike O'hearn.
Tried to hide it from my ex wife but when she found out it was world war 3, we stayed together but after she tried to ruin my character by telling all friends and my family that she found syringes and tried to out me equivalent to me shooting heroin. My current wife i let know before becoming serious. "Its like the estrogen you take for birth control, i take testosterone for my fatigue control". Dont tell my doctor as i dont have that type of relationship and if i have say a real condition i want it treated equally like any other patient, not "stop taking steroids and we can test in a couple weeks" or "its the steroids" and come to find out later its a real heart condition or brain tumor and needed to be treated months before. Every single symptom will be blamed on steroid use even if it isnt. But never hide from the one you're committed to.
I'm sorry you went through that with the ex. That must have been rough.
On the doctor's side yeah they'll blame everything on steroids. Specially in my country we are not known to be very advanced with endocrinology.
I’ve been pretty open about it with most people in my immediate circle. Anyone i have ever dated, i usually bring it up by date 3, because if it’s going to be a problem i need to know then because i am not changing. I have told both my reg dr and my endocrinologist. My endocrinologist knows exactly what im doing and i have been incredibly fortunate as she is willing to write me for blood work, AIs, and even Caber should i need. She would prescribe me trt should i decide to no longer run cycles. I’m also a member in a 12 program where about half the people call it using and the other half don’t. But at the end if the day Im 42 years old and the greatest thing about getting older is every year that goes by, I care less and less what other people think.
That's so cool to hear you have that kind of realtionship with your doctor ! I wish that was possible for my case. From what I've experienced in my country it will be hard to find a doctor like yours. I sadly have to lie and say I have relative with prexisting heart conditions. I know that's not good at all but I need for them to take my concerns seriously.
I was incredibly lucky. Most people’s experiences here in the US are not like mine, i was just fortunate enough to find the right dr.
Grow some nuts. I have a shelf of my current goods that the wife knows about in case something ever happens (ie medical emergency). You need healthier friends if you think you’ll be judged.
I know the feeling, and I'm in the same exact boat as you are, and it can suck. You feel a bit isolated almost, cause there is a part of you that you don't talk about publicly. I guess this is how closeted people feel. I have told one friend already, but he is chill and wouldn't go around telling others, he is a very isolated person and keeps to himself, so it felt like telling him would be low stakes. I came to the conclusion though, if someone asked me I would just say "yeah I am, so what". Eventually if you take it far enough, your gonna get to big, and people are gonna notice it anyways, there will be no hiding it. Or you could just laugh it off, like I've had many friends of mine already joke about me being on steroids, this was when i wad completely natty, idk if they was joking or was probing for a real answer or not.
Thanks for sharing my dude. We're in the same boat.
Definitely not Something to hide from your partner. I can understand not telling every single person that is involved in your life. Your partner is your #1; if you’re not telling them. They are not your true number 1. Addressing the AAS is nothing compared to the elephant in the relationship. As for your doctor , I am required by employer to have yearly health physical. My doc knows TRT. I don’t ask him for anything related; nor does he pry. I know he has researched more about peptides - especially bpc157 after he had a hockey injury. I’ll find out in May if he tried any- at least I think he will admit either way. Point I’m saying is we are all living this together. Help is worth more than judgement.
I couldn't Imagine trying to hide it from my wife. When I decided I was hopping on I told her I was jumping on and aslong as I was being safe she was fine with it. She actually done all my injections my first cycle haha. That would be he'll hiding it sneaking off to pin and hiding it all the time you should talk to her and tell her it's better to be open about it than her randomly finding your used needles thinking your some sort of crack head. I'm open about it to everyone though I see no problem with steroids, all my family know, friends are all meat heads like me, even my work colleagues and bosses know. If anyone judges I just come back with the old steroids vs junk food and alcohol Comparison put my argument across and explain I'm probably physically fitter and healthier than 95% of the population
I've been open with everyone, all my family know, friends too. Also some of the guys at work know because they're interested and want to know where to get peptides. Was asked in the gym the other week and I'm not really one to lie about it. I'm in the UK however so no real worries for me telling anyone.
Sounds exactly like me. I mean I'm pretty sure just looking at someone you can tell they are on gear anyway I don't even get the are you natty questions anymore because I'm clearly not
Honestly pal, I really WOULDN'T broadcast it and assume everyone shares your positivity and passion because there will be envious fucks out there. If some snidy fuck has it in for you all they have to do is tip off your local post office with your address or customs about the packages you are receiving and then you are fucked. You also don't want Feds assuming you are hoarding a tonne of gear in your property and getting a search warrant for it. The clever ones keep it quiet and lay low mate.
yeah I never really thought about that to be honest however not getting packages delivered isn't a real big worry. I don't stay in the house all my details are registered to and get my gear delivered to another house. Thanks for the tip though, chicken and rice from now on!
How's your recovery going? What's the timeline for you being able to get back in the gym and train properly again?
I didn't even think about that ! Thanks dude. They tip of my landloard. Shit I gotta be real careful !
This is me 100% I'm not going out and telling everyone. You just open yourself up for judgment cause no one will understand it, as well as possible legal trouble.
Exactly mate - why does anyone even need to know anyway apart from your partner? None of their business.
Bro tell your wife for sure. Like @SeeOhShow said if you can’t have an honest discussion with her it probably not the right marriage. Everyone else it’s up to you. I pretty much run everything by my wife. She doesn’t care, but just wants me to get blood work and be smart.
I told my parents, but they don’t really care. Friends that up to you, close ones yeah, but it’s your private information and don’t have to be public about it.
If you can’t tell your wife then you’re in the wrong marriage. No one else really needs to know unless your friends are doing it with you. But under no circumstance should you hide it, or anything, from your wife.
You are definitely right I should tell her. I feel like drug addict hiding my gear and peptides. I'll work up the courage to do so ! It's probably not going to go well.
My parents though uh... They think creatine is a steroid. And that protein cause kidney issue. I think I'll hold off for now.
That's why you tell your girlfriend and not your wife.
But kind of seriously. My wife knows I do TRT, my work wife knows exactly what I take.
My wife is the only person who knows or will ever know. There’s no reason for my parents to know. Or friends.
Those don’t sound like friends brother. So I told my wife some years ago that I’m gunna be hopping on a cycle. She threatened to leave me, we were together for about 2 years at this point. We argued for about a month and that was when I said fuck it. If she really doesn’t wanna be with me because of it then it wasn’t meant to be. I remember when I got my pack she was just looking at me in disgust. She made a few comments the following weeks to come. Whenever I would get mad she would say how it was because of the steroids lol yanno just talking shit. Soon the comments stopped but she refused to acknowledge any progress I was making which was a considerable amount. Any pictures or videos I would send her she would not give any positive reaction, just like it or heart it. But once I started to put real size on something changed. Sounds corny but she couldn’t resist. She loves it now, helps me with my pins, now full circle she’s in the gym with me and buying her own peptides. So man don’t let what other say stop you. Just don’t go around telling people. If they ask it is YOUR choice weather you say yes or no. Bc honestly who really knows besides you an us? It’s our secret don’t worry I won’t tell anybody.
Jokes aside the point of this all is if they are really supportive and care about you, no matter what it is you’re doing as long as you’re being safe and smart I don’t see how they could have an issue. Again it isn’t that cut and dry, people are different. Hope it all works out bro a people don’t see you for the things you do but who you are.
Damn bro me and my wife was the exact same way! Lmao. But I don’t have her on that level yet. She still thinks the pinning is gross. Hopefully one day I can get her like that.
Don’t hide it from like a your wife definitely that’s just asking for problems everyone that knows me knows I use them my family the people I work with even my doctor and it wasn’t even like a ackward conversation I’m just open about it my wife has given me a deadline to be off of the harder stuff like tren and Superdrol after the baby’s born they have to go but I still get to use test and hgh and other fun stuff my health insurance is through work so I don’t have to worry there
My buddies know, they don’t approve of my actions but they know. My parents live with me at the moment and my mom has opened one of my packs and I’m assuming she looked up what the names of the substances were. That paired with the amount of packages I get they definitely know we just don’t talk about it.
Dam the stigma is still present ! Keep doing you my man ! Just be safe out there.
The Only person that knows is my Doctor - we don't have health insurance in the UK so it doesn't affect anything, its better that they know I am as a lot of the issues I have seen them about are AAS related over the years, and when they didn't know I used them they were wondering why on earth these things were happening such as AAS induced Liver Hepatitis (running Tren and Orals), B12 pernicious anaemia (Trenbolone altering/depleting vitamin uptake) etc. Never told any friends or family as I would indeed be judged and criticized for it, although tbh I have been accused of it many times anyway after gaining 70lbs using them. In todays bitter world if you look good and have any muscle on you anyway you WILL be accused of being on them by many people behind your back whether you know about it or not.
All I would say is once you admit to using them - you can never go back on that statement. It will circulate and be used as a discussion point among people. I would just deny it as you can't win either way - not admitting to it still leaves an air of uncertainty over it in peoples minds rather than full bore admitting to it.
Honestly I wish I could tell my doctor. It would be so helpful. But most of them would be as clueless as me. Endocrinology isn't a well renowned practice of medicine in my country. They just look at the reference range and say you're good to go !
Like the other guys are saying which I forgot to mention - if you have a wife or girlfriend then really you HAVE to tell them as it will come out sooner or later, or they will catch you out when they come across you injecting your arse in the bathroom or ordering gear Lol Once a woman realises you are hiding things from her ........ Well, you know the score. Also realise that if a woman is against it all and doesn't comment on your progress - its likely because she feels threatened and jealous that you are looking really good now and possibly getting A LOT more attention from other women. She is likely feeling insecure about herself in the process unless she works out herself. Ultimately I would say always do what makes you feel happy in the end as long as it doesn't negatively or hurt others in the process.
Honesty is the best policy man I went down this road when I was younger and it all come out in the wash as the day. And it’s a lot worse being “found out” and if you are doing it “right” they are going to know.
I don't know how much you want to share. What happen ? How were you found out ? If you don't feel like revisiting it no problem.
Thanks for sharing regardless.
Well after reading through everyone else’s responses I can redact my statement slightly in the fact that the most important person to be honest with is yourself and then your partner.
For me I knew that my ex was not fond of ped so I chose to withhold that info from her, my thought was well if I just don’t say anything it’s not lying. Truth is it’s lying but omission it took me 10 years to figure that shit out. But anyway once I went from 185 to 215 in 3 months it was very obvious I wasn’t natural. Fast forward she started being suspicious it still hadn’t asked me then the day came where she asked if I was taking steroids and I denied it meanwhile she was asking because she just found my stash and was seeing if I’d be honest. That rocked us it rocked me sent me into a mental spiral and as I stated she’s an ex and the was my “first true love” but I had to ask myself did I love her if I could lie that easily. The truth is yes I did love her that much but I was too insecure to be honest with myself so where the love was lacking was with me. Today I really could give a fuck what anyone thinks about me if they don’t like it the doors right there.
But Alina’s others stated there’s no reason to go all out telling everyone you know you’re running gear. Privacy is still a priority for me but the ones who are in my inner circle know what’s going on.
But the judgement comes from ignorance the boomers remember those after school specials that said steroids are bad and that’s it they’ve made there mind. After educating some close family members I happened to help them find some peds to help them maximize their health so that’s been my journey man. Best of luck to you and I get it being honest about shot can be hard sometimes because we don’t wanna hurt people or we don’t want to see the truth. If we are being true to ourselves and the ones that matter we will live a beautiful life brother
