+ 4 Hair loss

ad

---Minoxidil 5% foam or liquid---

It works by increasing blood flow to the hair follicles thus promoting regrowth. 1ml needs to be applied twice a day everyday for life or else you'll lose any regrowth you've had.

A pain in the ass to be honest but if you have the patience to do it everyday for life it works well.
I got great results from it but I don't use it anymore as I just shave my head with a razor Smile

Foam would be better for people with long hair as it's not greasy like the liquid.

Side effects I got were dark circles under eyes which is common and itchy scalp.

---Nizoral 2% shampoo---

It works by blocking Dht at the hair follicles, use 2 or 3 times a week and leave it in for 10 minutes and wash out. It can make hair very dry and brittle. I prefer the 2% but you can get 1% too.
No side effects after years of use, liver values always came back fine.

Another use I found for this is if you have acne on your chest or back on cycle lather it on and leave a few minutes then was off. It's an antifungal.

---Finasteride 1mg---

I used to use it at 1mg a day, maintened my hair and had some regrowth. Like minoxidil if you stop using it you'll lose any progress within 6 months.

No side effects for me but common side effects are sexual, like harder to get an erection etc.

---Dutasteride 0.5mg---

This is what I use with nizoral. The half life is ridiculously long so you can take it EOD or even e3d. This is better than finasteride, had some very good regrowth while using it.

No side effects for me but sexual side effects are common.

Just shave your head. Problem solved.

I shave my hair aswell, I just take medication because my self esteem/confidence is so low anyway so that's why I don't want to lose hair.

Bill1976's picture

That’s what I do and I like not having hair. Hair is a pain in the ass

Great post. I still have a full head of hair and it doesn’t seem like it’s going anywhere (doesn’t matter anyway I shave my head now after briefly testing a Mohawk in quarantine lol), but my younger brother has been losing his hair since he was like 21 and I was just telling him about Nizoral. I’ll tell him about the Minoxidil too. ++

IrishWOLFhound's picture

Yeah it would be worth looking into minoxidil, it works well on its own. I'd always recommend using it first on its own and if it doesn't work maybe add something else

++ or the mohawk lol

Good post. I use fina and minoxidil. It has helped but maybe I will look into Duta.

IrishWOLFhound's picture

Even in clinical studies 0.5mg of dutasteride worked better than 5mg finasteride and that's 5 times the recommended dose of finasteride for hair loss. It would be worth looking into to it.

Luckily the patent for Dutasteride expired a few years ago so it used to cost me around 100euro for a months supply, now the generics are around 25euro

Beware w/ Duta’s. It gave me minor ED & killed my sex drive! I was only taking it twice a week too. I quit taking it & problem solved! If you do decide to try it. I would keep taking the finasteride and doing what you’re doing w/ Minoxidil (get 12% ) & maybe just add one Duta a week. Also Dutas are more toxic than Finasteride!

This is the best protocol I’ve seen online:

Finasteride did the same thing to me minor ed and no sex drive at all but I also got the dam brain fog I stopped taking it I was only on 1mg I feel bad for the people that have to take it at 5mg as a medication

That happens to everyone when they go up

I’ve used all that. I have used microdermabrasion with .5 mm roller on my scalp it is supposed to increase blood flow to the scalp as well. I’ve also used peppermint oil cut with water same reason increase blood flow to the scalp. If you don’t cut it enough it will feel like your scalp is on fire. I also have a laser cap but I don’t think it does much, but it’s also supposed to stimulate the scalp. Scalp massaging is supposed to help as well. Some people use only microdermabrasion and minoxidil it’s supposed to be twice as effective as the drug alone. I have a shampoo that has the same stuff as the nizoral plus caffeine and saw pamaleto (DHT blocker) peppermint oil all in one. Caffeine is also supposed to increase blood flow to the scalp.

Yeah I've used a dermaroller before too, yeah it's supposed to make minoxidil even more effective.

I'll never be "that bald guy"
I will be that guy with the huge beard

IrishWOLFhound's picture

I can't grow a proper beard haha I have my head shaved most of the year, I let it grow in winter

maddogg's picture

That’s the next thing I’m going to try. Did you notice any side effects? I read somewhere a guy used it and it gave him some kind of heart problems Or at least he thought it did.

I've only listed things I've used myself so I could list my experience with them plus it hasn't been researched as much as the others.

IrishWOLFhound's picture

No it's not, it hasn't been studied enough. If it was that good all the big pharma companies would be producing it. Finasteride, minoxidil, dutasteride are clinically proven to work

IrishWOLFhound's picture

I can't even take that seriously, anyone who has used those for years knows that at best they slow down hair loss<

Wrong! I've seen regrowth and thousands upon thousands have too.

Also some of those products you listed are clinically proven to give you bitch tits and a limp dick.<

We live in a very vain society, I've never had any side effects

it has to be stored a certain way it can't just be sold over the counter.<

Lol if you buy the powder and pre mix enough for a week you can store it in a dark place at room temperature for a week.
Another place that sells it says its stable for months at room temperature.

Big pharma couldn't possibly manufacture that. Imagine the billions of dollars they'd make on this wonder drug.

maddogg's picture

Yeah, limp dick for sure. Only have to take it 2 days in a row and it starts for me, plus I felt it took a little out of me at the gym. Some guys it is permanent. Luckily I wasn’t one of those. Some guy said 1 mg a day of finasteride was to much, I should take .5 eod. I might try that because I have a ton of it laying around from a prescription 5 mg I have to cut up. That way my monthly script only cost me 80 cents. Because the 5 mg is used for benign prostate enlargement. If you get the 1 mg it’s over 70 dollars a month. Pharma companies really rip you off if they think it’s for your hair I can’t imagine taking 5 mg a day, I don’t know if anyone could get it up on that.

maddogg's picture

Yeah, I don’t have that yet, my Dr was just helping me out prescribing it that way for me after I told him how much the 1 mg script was going to cost

You could try minoxidil on its own, people get good results from it. I did when I was younger. It's better to start off with that, cheaper and no side effects hopefully

It's a lifelong commitment though

IrishWOLFhound's picture

I'd use liquid becau it's cheaper but makes your hair very oily so if your hairs a bit long I'd go with foam

maddogg's picture

Liquid is way cheeper than foam but like he said liquid is slightly oily. Costco store brand of the foam 6 month supply is $49 I think and their liquid which I only see online anymore is only like $20

Owes a Review × 1
IrishWOLFhound's picture

Yeah liquid is very cheap less than half the price of foam
