+ 11 Food for thought

ad

It’s bulk season. Being a hard gainer and struggling to consume enough carbs I thought it might be an idea for us to post up our meals.this was breakfast followed by lunch for me today. Would love to see your meals, from weird to wonderful, delicious to gut wrenching, calorific cheat meals to broccoli, rice and chicken and everything inbetween. Let’s see your food whether you’re on a strict diet or shoving everything and anything down your throat

Bulking season starting with the basics: chicken and rice as usual. I’m aiming for a 250–350 kcal surplus, adjusting slowly based on how my waistline looks and how I’m feeling. I’m sitting at 220 lbs right now, and the goal is to hit around 230/235 lbs with quality mass and minimal bloat over the next 16–20 weeks. Diet-wise, I’ll keep running my usual carb cycling. Fat stays low … around 10% (30–40g). I just don’t feel good on high fat, and for me there’s no real benefit. I’m very aligned with Big Paul’s view on this. My approach here is definitely more old-school.

Looking huge bro. That’s a serious bowl of chicken and rice. Best of luck with your bulk blast. Can’t wait to start mine and lose my bulk blast cherry!

Pandateston's picture

Appreciate you, Big!
That first real bulk is always the most fun … everything hits harder, strength jumps fast, and you actually feel yourself growing week to week.

Enjoy that first ride, man… you never forget your first bulk blast cherry getting popped
Keep me posted when you start. You got this, brother man !

When I bulk usually for 3 of my meals the carb portion I grind down basmati rice into the texture of cream of rice and add some bowling water to it and drink it so much easier getting all the food down.

Last meal before bed is always the same. 1.5-2 cups Greek yogurt and some granola. Easy 60g+ of slow digesting protein that tastes pretty good and doesn’t require any cooking.

Or when im craving something sweet I’ll crush a pint of Ben and Jerry’s cherry garcia. But the macros are so bad so I try to limit how often I do that. I can’t ever eat 1/2, of it, I have to eat the whole thing.

Good stuff, brother

Meal 4 is usually just the basics … rice and chicken.

Boiled or grilled chicken, no oil at all, just salt and Cajun seasoning.
250g

Jasmine rice cooked in water with salt (again, no oil, nothing added).
300g

C 85g
P 65g
F 7g

Super simple. I just adjust the amounts and macros based on my current goal.
If I add veggies, it’s usually asparagus, broccoli, or spinach.
Sometimes i like to add 50-100g pineapple chunks to helping digestion..

If I switch the carb source, I go with potatoes.

Pineapple chunks aye? Good idea

All that food looks like it's low carb.
I'd have to post to much for mine between all the cereal yogurt and lil things throughout the day. You'd think I'd be able to roll down the block. Lol

C’mon Big Mikey…
At least bless us with ONE monster meal so the mortals here know what real fuel looks like.

But honestly, anyone can (or most people) “bodybuilder-ify” ( but it’s not easy … and very genetics dependent IMHO ) basic food if they really want to:
Chicken, rice, potatoes, steak, yogurt, oats, eggs…
Just slap 500g chicken,800g rice,100g oats, EAA, some dextrose 40g…
and then add some MK-677 + GH + of course “those we do not speak of”…
BOOM … Instant mass.
LMAO

Bbq pulled pork and Mac and cheese.
One of my favorite fuel meals. 610 cals 42g protein 45 carbs 30g fat. I always eat a couple of these a day of different varieties. They’re so much easier, faster and better tasting than prepping all of my own meals. The rest of my meals I or my wife cooks.

Milfpounder's picture

What brand are those ones buddy?

irongame427's picture

Fuel. Best calories and Macros I’ve found and plenty of protein sources other than chicken. I think factor is the best tasting, but they only ever have like 1 beef option for what’s included in the price and if you want to add extra beef meals it’s like $12 each which is absurd. I usually pay around $6 a meal with fuel. And factor meals doesn’t have enough food for me. A 450-500 calorie meal doesn’t fill me up and most of the time theirs are only 30g protein. Most of fuels are 50g.

Korean beef with rice and zucchini is another one of my favorites. This one’s about 800 calories. Meal prep services were a game changer for me.

Milfpounder's picture

Hmmm I always thought those meal prep service places were more expensive. Not exaggerating when I say that I spend more than that per meal with 1/2 pre made frozen, plus what I add to it. I have been getting vital pursuit and adding a bunch of chicken to it. They are $5 each and I'm sure I add a few bucks in chicken to it.

I'm gonna check that place out. Thanks

irongame427's picture

The most it ever is is about $10 a meal. That’s if you have no discounts and pay full price which I very rarely do. Pretty much all meal prep services give you 50% off first order. Then the next few after are like 20% off. Factor gives you a discount on your first like 5 orders. You get more than you’ll eat in a week and freeze them. Then cancel it and theyll start sending you offers again and you turn it back on for 5 more. I always find a 40% off coupon for fuel when I order. And they have a pretty good points program as well. So ya I think my 20 meals for last week cost me $123. It’s hard to beat that.

Milfpounder's picture

Oh I for sure spend more than that now. And I am so tired of eating the same shit every day hahaha.

Thanks man I really appreciate it. Looking at fuel now.

irongame427's picture

I feel that. It makes it really easy to stick to your diet and hit your macros when you don’t have to cook every single meal, the food tastes really good and it takes 3 mins to heat up. I usually do either 2 or 3 of these a day and then make my other 4 or 5 meals. The only meal I actually cook is breakfast. 2 of my other meals are Greek yogurt. Wife makes dinner and makes enough to have it for lunch the next day.

I’d still do it if I had I to pay full price (which I’ve done). It’s worth it to me to not eat my shitty chicken and rice meal preps multiple times a day lol.

High-carb day … Meal 1
Nothing fancy, nothing pretty, not even that tasty… but it gets the job done. lol
On low/moderate-carb days I cut the cereal completely or drop oats from 100g down to around 40g. Some days I don’t even touch it. So this isn’t an everyday meal like good old rice and chicken.

Oats: 100g
ON Whey: 100g
Cheerios: 28g
Cinnamon: 10g

Macros:
P: 98g — C: 98g — F: 14g
Total: 863 kcal

Going to have to try this. Love all the ingredients separately so why not?! Professional set up on the scales big man. Putting us all to shame lol

Pandateston's picture

Hahaha bro, if you like all the ingredients on their own, mixed together they hit even better.
And the scale setup? That’s just my inner OCD bodybuilder trying to keep me from eyeballing 300g of oats by accident (got this habit to track everything before eating lol)
Give it a try, brother man … it’s ugly food, but it works. Btw you can add whatever you want,
Banana does work just fine, pineapple would be great for helping digestion…there are so many variations, you named it.

RobertB80's picture

Sounds good bro. Will be trying combos of this rather than calorific giant ice cream protein oats peanut butter shakes and bowls of Cheerios or crunchy nut cornflakes before bed!

Milfpounder's picture

You eat that hot or cold? As In do you let the oats soak or cook them? Looks bomb.

I struggle to eat enough PWO sometimes and I end up running out of gas. This would probably get me going. Or tren.

Pandateston's picture

I usually cook it … microwave or pan, whatever’s fastest.
If I add banana or want it thicker, I throw it in the fridge and eat it cold like a little tart lol.
If I’m rushing, I eat it hot.
You can make it thicker, softer, sweeter … whatever helps it go down PWO. (Or post workout)
Super easy fuel…
…but yeah, Tren works too LMAO
