First lab draw on TRT - hematocrit came back high?

ad

It's been 10 weeks on TRT and my labs came back - nothing horrible but I am very health conscious and want to have great labs. That said, a few markers were high and I'm curious as to how I should address them. Provider has me prescribed at 120mg/week split up into 3 injections per week. Around week 5 I started doing 150mg/week because I felt nothing, so I'm well aware that could be why some of the labs are off... going back down to 120 lol..

I'm attaching everything that Labcorp marked as "High":

Red Blood Cell 6.07 x10E6/uL
Hemoglobin 17.5 g/dL
Hematocrit 53.9 %

LDL Cholesterol 125
(Just for reference, my total and HDL below)
Total Cholesterol 185
HDL 41

Testosterone Total LC/MS 1101 ng/dL
Testosterone Free 293.3 pg/mL

DHEA-Sulfate 598.0 ug/dL
Estradiol 37.8 pg/mL

The only ones I'm truly concerned about are the RBC, Hemoglobin, and Hematocrit values. Cholesterol is just diet which I am changing up. I really do not want to donate blood, or need to rely on that consistently. I will say, before TRT when I was natural I have had similar levels of Hematocrit/RBC, then again they have also been perfect, which is why I'm trying not to get hung up on these numbers because they could just mean I was dehydrated.

I'm already back down to 120mg/week and honestly would be fine to drop to 100mg/week. 1101 total test is insanely high lol.

360mg per week is NOT TRT.

If you are drawing blood at your low point (early morning before pinning) Then you are frequently, if not consistently, OVER high normal range and that is why you are elevated across the board and destined for other maintenance drugs.

For TRT you want to test where your low is within the 600 - 900 range. Your high will be within normal range and you WILL NOT have all these, "silent but deadly" sides.

No no no!!

120mg/week . I pin 3 times a week so only 40mg 3 times a week - adds up to a total of 120mg

Also this lab draw was the day after training, and I train in the evenings. So it’s likely the thick blood was from dehydration the night before since I’m pushing food

How much water you drink before the blood draw? Also more frequent injections. I'm more or less a noob but on 210/wk, pinning daily, crit came back 48

Most doctors don't consider hematocrit high until it passes 54-55%. My doctor didn't say anything or cared after I asked when I was at 53.5. If your that concerned - lay off red meat, vitamin C and carbs.

Get that test down towards 800. 3x a week pinning is insane on trt. Hydrate. Donate blood.

No problem sir - I can drop to 100mg/week honestly. Not an issue for me. I thought the more pinning frequency the better ?

Ill hydrate but not donating blood just yet

every person will tell you something different about pinning frequency. some say its better to pin more frequently because it is more natural for your body little bits of test more stable levels. and others will say to pin 1 time or 2 times a week. its really personal preference. there may be some sceince to it but youll be fine either way

Half life gives a week to peak and when the esters cleaved to useable testosterone. Then by science theres the breakdowns of halflives. On trt 1 pin a week is fine so your not going to bottom out. Cycles we do biweekly on a simple test only run to keep the peak to trough on a tighter level. @cryhavok has charts, graphs and citations to delve deeper. Click on his name to then click his forums

Donating. Thats fine to not donate yet. Folks get too hyper to donate too often. Then the body senses the low rbc level and starts boosting production and making the problem worse. Theres forums on when to donate with links.

My RBC and hematocrit and hemoglobin was initially high on TRT, I donated a couple times to try to keep it in check but it's a hassle taking time off work every 8 weeks to donate blood. I started drinking a lot more water I try to drink at least a gallon a day and I stopped taking the multivitamin I was taking because it had iron in it and started buying vitamins individually and I make it a point to not get too much iron intake. My levels are on the upper end but now they are in the normal range.
