Effects of Corona

ad

The Virus situation turned already into a horror scenario,
the whole industry and commerce is already destroyed, at least 50% in my country.

I'm a part of these 50% and lost my work, at the moment for about 12 weeks. I work in a big company and most of the parts we need come from China (Asia) and because they've cancelled 90% (!!!) of all flights, we get no more parts they're necessary for our production.

A very hard time , we've a daughter , we've a dog, 2 cars, a lot of monthly bills and the Goverment supports us just minimal to none.

I pray daily that this shit stops soon!!!

I hope that u guys will never come into a situation like mine, stay healthy, safe and keep care brothers!

When I got back from the Arnold classic last month, I developed a sore throat, body chills, fatigued and bad headaches.

I went the very next day to Urgent care and they told me I had a URI (Upper respiratory infection). Literally a day or two before they announce full lock in the states. I sweare my chest felt tight and no over the counter medicine helped. I immediately called the department of health and they told me they can't test me because I didn't develop a fever.

Well, fast forward to today symptoms eventually went away from my last URI but as of yesterday I started developing a very bad sore throat again (no flem), upper chest feeling tight, and sinus issues but no discharge. I haven't had a cough, no fever yet (knock on wood), and bought theraflu, cough drops for my throat.

I read reports alot of people went through Coronavirus without fever or any of the harsher symptoms.

Side note: last year I caught the Influenza A and felt fatigued and tired but absolutely no fever. My doctor advised me some Dayquil and Nightquil and bedrest.

We are all in this together guys, to Stairmaster, Spark, and everyone else dealing with situations, my prayers out for all you, I mean it. We will become stronger and things will get better for all of us.

Stay safe my Eroids family

Prayers to u and ur family, i hope she recovers and get back healthy again, stay strong bro, this virus hit a lot of us hard

jp82088's picture

Prayers bro.

Situation is really bad for everyone :(

Spark's picture

Wife has the virus. Doctors offices are closed here. They do the visit over the phone or video chat. After the doctor heard the symptoms and made the decision that my wife had the virus. She had to call back the doctor who used a satellite phone so the conversation could be recorded.
She is a nurse and of course they have not been given them proper PPE to protect themselves at work.
Today she has to get tested for the virus at a drive through site.

Yesterday she felt the worst. Before that it was more similar to a bad cold with a fever.

Spark's picture

Fuck my 10 yr old now has a fever and the other symptoms. Cant get tested until Weds.
Plus there is a back up in test results. Takes 4 days to over a week to get results after getting tested.

Really hope its just a cold and not the virus. My wife has being crying since she got this over fear of the kids, me or her mother getting it from her.

jp82088's picture

Prayers bro.

Hoping everything will turn alright

Spark's picture

Thanks. Wife is still sick and had to go for a retest. She is still home and dr has her on meds. Daughter got tested on weds. But she seems to be doing better.
The first test they did on my wife they didnt swab her nose properly and it gave a false negative. In the US they are coming back with as many as 30 % false negative.
So between people that have it or had it and never tested, people they refuse to test, states that arent even on lock down or testing, test results are backed up between 4 days to almost two wks, people that dont want to get tested, and the false negatives.., the confirmed cases in the US is extremely higher than what they list.

jp82088's picture

I know brother

Spark's picture

Hope you feel better soon. Yeah its tricky with the flu, bronchitis, and the covid virus to know what you have/had. Could be the covid as symptoms vary. Notice the media isnt reporting the flu cases/deaths at all.
Stay safe brother!

And for anyone that gets the nose swab covid test it should feel as if they are scratching your brain to get a proper sample. Thats why on the first test my wife had she know it wasnt done properly. The person barely swabbed inside her nose.

jp82088's picture

Likewise brother.

Stay safe

Ozninjaguy's picture

Hopefully she is young and fit and will beat it. My thoughts are with you mate.

Spark's picture

Thanks. I think she will be fine. She doesn't have pre-existing conditions and is otherwise healthy.

Its is mind blowing how many people have this virus and dont know it because they are doing a shit job at testing in the US.
Today in my state.., "hits 6,876 cases with 81 deaths. Another 2,492 positive tests in huge single-day increase."
Only 9 million in the state and the number one for most densely populated.

So the stats on the cases of people that have or had the virus are completely off. Going by that is a poor indicator here in the states. More important is the death rate and if healthcare facilities can handle the influx of new patients esp. ones requiring ventilators.

Mightymike's picture

That's terrible. Hope she gets through it okay mate. I have a few people I'm worried about getting it

press1's picture

Really Sorry to hear that bud - Did she have the really bad nausea that I keep hearing people get initially with it?

Spark's picture

No. I see the UK is getting hit pretty hard now.

press1's picture

Ohh Yes, its because up until yesterday/today no M'Fer has been taking it seriously enough. When I went to the supermarket today though everyone seems to have changed - EVERYONE is keeping their distance from each other, face masks/gloves the lot are being worn. Security gaurds inside patrolling making sure customers aren't chatting and lingering about etc. Think now it has touched the royals everyone is thinking Ohh shit - perfectly healthy young people here are now dying from it within days of catching it too.

Ozninjaguy's picture

All the supermarkets here have guards anyway, but they now have benches lined up outside with an' X' in the middle indicating the distance to sit from each other. Then when you line up to go in, there are red lines painted on the footpath to maintain social distance. They are also only letting people in, in lots of 5 as long as you are wearing a mask and the temperature check they do is normal. The checkouts also have lines on the floor where you wait until the person in front of you is served, and then you move up a place in the queue.

Being a 'senior citizen' - I usually don't have to line up outside for too long :-).

press1's picture

You seen Prince Charles has just been announced as having it now?

Mightymike's picture

Yea they managed to get a test for him. My girlfriend's sister is working at the hospital and they don't have tests there they are really overwhelmed there. I hope they can get more tests out to people

press1's picture

People keep mentioning the testing kits but isn't it more important to find a vaccine/cure for it?

Ozninjaguy's picture

Test kits identify the virus. They are relatively simple and easy to make once the elements of the virus have been identified.

Vaccines hopefully protect against the virus.

To develop a vaccine takes a couple of years because there are several medical protocols they have to satisfy such as animal testing, and human testing for adverse reactions. Then, there is the whole logistical issue of having to manufacture and distribute the vaccine.

So yes, vaccines are important - but test kits are also important in the first stages of a new disease as they allow medical authorities to at least identify those affected and quarantine them, while a vaccine is being developed..

press1's picture

I ain't gonna question you Oz - I'm damn sure its an area you know a hell of a lot more about than me Lmao ...

I guess I thought we were fairly close to a vaccine as they are coming out with quite a few possibilities already that seem to be fairly effective against it such as other remedies against the Chinese flu & High dose Vit C.

Ozninjaguy's picture

Nah...I know fuck all except that there is no vaccine, and other remedies are experimental with a lot of alleged results being anecdotal. Chloroquine is showing some potential, but is as yet, unproven. It's an antimalarial drug which MAY have a limited effect on the Coronavirus....no-one knows yet.

Vit C is not an antidote - all it does is increase WBC, which supports the immune system - so taking it is a good idea - but taking too much only results in diarrhea as your body can only use so much and can't store it. So - being dehydrated by O/Ding on Vit C thinking it will protect you isn't really a good idea.

Limit social contact, regularly wash your hands, take alcohol with you when you go shopping, wipe down anything you touch - shopping trolleys/baskets/all tinned goods/fruit and vegetables, and it should be fine for you. Take care Bro. Looking forward to lots more chats here.

Mightymike's picture

I think there will be a while before they make a vaccime/cure for it. They need tests at the hospital badly - I know friends and family working at hospitals and they can't get tested but prince Charles and idris Elba can lol. That's what they keep saying they need more of now.
I'm assuming that if they had enough tests everywhere they can get people quarantined more effectively and have a better chance of limiting transmission. They could possibly test everyone even people who aren't showing symptoms yet, and people who have had it and got over it.
Once they can do that it should slow down cases significantly and they will have a lot more time to work on vaccines. Also knowing more people that have had it and how it affected them might help them with finding a cure as it seems to be affecting different people in different ways.
Let's hope they can stop it.

Have you had any results back yet bud?

GizmoDuck's picture

She said it will be a few days till she does. Hopefully it’s negative. But with all going on odds are no

At the hospital I work there is only 1 confirmed case, but that is far away from me

GizmoDuck's picture

Dude, my ex has a fever and a cough now. She lives in New Jersey/York. She got tested yesterday. Gonna find out. She also takes care of my 11 year old girl. Hopefully results come back negative, but odds are it prob won’t.

Hello,
thank you guys for all the comments, sorry that I don't aswer every single comment. My actual situation is very bad, the company extended yesterday to 16 weeks! So yesterday and today I was at the job center and hope that they support me a bit for the next 3-4 months , actually the situation is very hard, I hear it daily in the morning news that more and more companies close. Even McDonalds has closed - that's really crazy!

Prayers to all concerned!

Stay safe and healthy brothers!

Cochise's picture

Bro I hope and pray everything gets back to normal soon so we can talk about sources and what’s the best this or that
This wasn’t in the plans for all of us (not even knowing someone with it) to be suffering financially and mentally
I say mentally cause you know worrying takes a toll on our mental health and if there is not one adult here worried at least a bit, you ain’t human

True everyone is worried. We have to stop the idiots out partying in groups and going on in life like nothing is wrong and the jerks hoarding essentials so the elderly cant even buy toilet paper or wipes. We have to keep in mind of all the sources here that are going to take a financial hit and still need to feed their families.

There is a night curfew in most cities in the Phils. Some young drop-kicks were stopped by the police in Manila and a stupid dildo thought it would be funny to start coughing - all the while filming a selfie. Bad decision. Arrested on the spot and now in a Filipino gaol (3rd world gaols aren't nice)...then crying on SM saying it was just a joke...boo-fucking-hoo...I hope the dildo is locked up for a few months.
