Had distal rupture about 3 years ago. Permanent screw to reattach to bone. About 3 month rehab. Arm is back to 18 inches and responds to training but not as strong as use to be. I rarely go over 40 lbs on dumbbell curls now. But at 44 if I don't need to go heavy and still grow its a win the way I see it. Just go slow buddy.

Had this surgery last year. Your looking at around a year for full recovery. 2-3 months before you start working it again at least for me. Expect some numbness in the forearm area that could last up to around 9 months. Have them use an endo button. That thing is strong and in a year (or less), you'll be able to work that mother just like before. While I did make a full recovery, it has screwed me mentally and I still don't handle the weight I used to on some exercises in fear of another tear but I'm working on it. It's the negative/eccentric side of the exercise that I'm concerned about.
Having your bicep sitting high on your shoulder is not a pretty site as you well know, but once they pull your tendon back down and screw it onto your bone it will be exactly like it was before so no worries there.. You'll be fine, but here is where your patience will be tested.

I was scheduled to have distal bicep tendon surgery 2 years ago. It wasn't quite a 50% tear according to the MRI but the surgeon wanted to cut it all the way through and bolt it back onto the bone.

I told the doctor I had access to HGH and could I try that before the surgery. The surgery would have had me out of the gym for 1 year. He said he could not ethically prescribe HGH to me, but that it could work and it was worth a try. He said that American medicine just hasn't caught up.

It took about 3 months of 4 IU / day HGH and the tendon scarred over and healed according to the second set of MRIs. It is 100% as strong as it was. I also took glucosamine and chondroitin with the HGH to give the GH material to work with.

Just FYI.

Sorry to hear that bro. Not a lot of options with that. Mine was not rolled up so I got lucky. I tore it picking up a 30 lb. dumbbell that was on the floor to put it back in the rack not preacher curling 225 or some such heavy ass bull shit.

Wow that's pretty damn amazing.

Any idea how HGH is at healing poorly blood supplied areas? My meniscus has been torn twice in the past, and I have had surgery done before. I'm still not 100%, and when I bottom out in a heavy squat it hurts like hell. Then I limp for a few days, and eventually the pain goes away.

Edit: PM sent
