What are your thoughts on carbs postworkout at night say 1 hour before bed? Also should i do only simple carbs, only complex or a mix? I know to take the carbs if its morning or afternoon but i hear conflicting thoughts regarding night

I carb up throughout the day with every meal up until about 12-1pm. After that it's carb free for the rest of the day. However dossier31 is right; carbs directly after the workout is recommended (even if it's an evening workout). I also do casein right before bed too.
samick94CARB BACK LOADING!!! check it out. i eat carbs at night and binge on donuts, pizza and all the goodies b/t. i am down 3 percent from starting over a 1.5month period so far and have filled out and am harder then my start. i was originally doing the standard 6-8 meals a day and eating super clean, NO CARBS AT NIGHT, and was almost always flat and not nearly as lean as i am now!
When im bulking, the last carb meal will be about 2-3 hours before bed and then a casein shake immediately before bed, i think thats the best way to do it without getting excess fat
AnonI've been preaching casein forever. Nice to finally hear someone using it.
Yeah bro, i use it every night
Anonif your strength training session is in the evening, simple sugars can and should be ingested within and hour of completing the workout. after this, you should avoid carbs if at all possible. without proper portion control, quality, and meal timing, carbs during a time when we are inactive can easily promote accumulation of body fat.
Ok. Onething though say i eat carbs at lunch so at 12 thats fine right? I mean im inactive at that time but i will still be training later that day..would kinda suck if i only get carbs bfast pre and post.
