The OP is right, I need labs done and they now say they have to comply to state laws and cannot do tests on anyone from any of those states.
Here's a following email I received from them when I noticed their online bill payment methods changed.
We are sorry but, in order to stay in compliance with mandatory changes within LabCorp, residents of NY, NJ, MA or MD cannot use our requisitions for lab testing in other states. The phlebotomists are instructed by LabCorp to ask for ID and, being a resident of any of those states, they should not collect your specimen.
So the problem is you can make up an out of state address but they will ask for a valid ID now unlike before you just walk in with your requisition papers and your good to go. They just changed this recently because I just had a test done on May 21st. They ask for a Billing Address with Zipcode, then your Home Address I wonder if they both have to match now. Now other Labs are doing the same.
Anyone know a work around this?
angusBrother I was just there 2 weeks ago and used a labcorp, they didn't ask for ID, and it says it right on the requisition that they're not allowed to ask for ID. I don't doubt that was your email but there are some inconsistencies here. I don't even use my name. Mike Hawk was the name I used.....("my cock" for slower members)
Alright that's sound to my ears, I'm overdo for blood work by a month and I'm here hanging by the balls wondering what I should do. Thanks brotha for that info, I don't know why they changed the payment process and outline that in bold red, but I'm not going to ask anymore ?'s. Was about to get a connect for a fake Driver's License of a nearby state just to get tested. Haha I like the name, you should add a big b4 the Mike.
What doesn't make sense to me is that if one works in a different state than they reside - they should be able to get bw done where ever is most convenient, which could possibly be near their work.
So, to me - as long as their Name matches the one on the sheet - I don't see why it matters.
angusYou have never been able to go to a nearby state to have it performed. You have to give them an address of some random place in that state. The billing address can still be in one of them though.
