Bicep Exercises
ad
Hey Guys
Ive put this in the general section so i get more feedback
After some advice please..
As i get older i find a lot of bicep exercises painful around the elbow area, its not like a huge pain but it can sometimes prevent me from really thrashing my biceps.
Are there any exercises you do that help prevent this if you are having the same problems as me.
Ive been in this game for along time but sometimes fresh thoughts or different thinking can really help.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

lifting is all about the "movement".. not the "weight"... what you
might try is working your "movement 'more... once you get that right..you
then increase the "weight"....
I LOVE hammer curl combo with normal curl...works great for.. drop sets.. another plus.
Preacher curls.. BIG plus.. low weight.. long sets.. I have just picked up some of those
heavy rubber bands..( latex ones).. and i use them on my shoulders ..i dont have anything
wrong with them.. I just tend to abuse them more then I should and I do preventive stretches now
to make sure I dont have problems when I get older...slow down the sets and see what happens..
Thanks for all your advice
I will give all these a go and see which one sits best with me.
Its just a pain in the arse as i have always loved barbell curls but it looks like those days a long gone.
Cheers guys
I use dumbells on a sitting curl machine. I put the seat high enough that my arm fully extends I got to where I can curl 50lb dumbells. I do this one arm at a time. This gives me a great pump. Also there is a p90x bicep workout that is awesome. Get your dumbells and stay standing let the dumbells hang straight down and curl then move them to the outside an curl. I count 1-1,2-2,3-3, ect.... That gives a killer pump. I do these with both arms at the same time.
Bro I got this from a 70yr old gym rat about 10 yrs ago (One Buff MoFo). I used to wrap my forearms because I had ulna nerve issues. He approached and new exactly what the wraps were for and suggested I do bar only reverse curls... it sounded weird and a little counter intuitive but he pointed out several members he had helped with the same issue and I talked to them and they swore by it... I do 100 bar only reverse curls with every warm up now and issue is handled
BigBmajI did bi's using the lat pull-down setup the other day. I bent my head forward a tad and went light, squeezing the weight behind my head. I went very light actually and got the most amazing squeeze. Almost like a drag curl. I did a 2 to 3 second squeeze on each rep.
It was a little awkward at first but by the second set I was into the groove.
Wasn't hard on wrists or elbows.
I 2nd the hammer grip for taking tension off the elbow joint.
hammer grip really helps me avoid joint pain so I can go heavy as hell.. I have a screwed up elbow and wrist.. Normal or reverse grip can be very painful for me at times
I will give them a blast
