+ 2 Anti-depressants while on gear..Good or bad?

ad

I am about to be put on Zoloft 50mg everyday. I do get a little depressed sometimes depending on the cycle. I also get anxiety. Who has exp. with this? This thread is mainly for depression on or off cycle and how we can combat it safely. Wether we want to believe it or not. What goes up must come down. How far down I don't know. I do not see a lot of articles on this so lets get it in.

If you want to fix your depression take psilocybin.
It works overnight. You would need to be off zoloft for a good few weeks first tho.

Psilocybin is a miracle.

Simples.

Ketamine works within minutes. Truly a miracle for me. I go to the doctor about once a year and take about 10 less pills a day than I used to from one infusion. No need to get off antidepressants if prescribed too.

giardap's picture

Ketamine is an exceptional psychedelic for improving brain plasticity.
They were going to run a trial this year for borderline personality but covid paused that. Looking forward to seeing the results when they eventually kick off.

If we were measuring dicks (no homo!!), psilocybin is a better improver of plasticity.

Have you seen the news on mdma? Goodbye ptsd!

Johnny Bravo's picture

My data was used in a ketamine study a few years back when I first got the treatment. Personally the dissociative route works better for me than the psychedelic route but everyone is different. I did a short report in college about psilocybin and lsd uses in treatment resistant mental illness and the results of the studies are nothing short of astounding.

I have a colleague that attended a MAPS conference to present their work and I heard good things about the mdma results.

giardap's picture

I well believe you re: K efficacy for you. Genuinely delighted for you. Different routes. I am exploring nmda agonists now and maoi's for borderline.

Yeah the p2 results from maps show 12 months + delivering 67% of participants no longer qualifying as having ptsd. Amazing. I am hoping it applies to cptsd too.
Its a different world now. Thankfully

I saw some similar results in an lsd study with 90 something percent remission after 6 months and 60 something percent remission after 12 months from just one treatment. It was with terminally ill patients with death anxiety though, not ptsd. It’s all very interesting stuff. Good to see someone else experienced in this topic as most are still in the dark about its medical usage.

They can also work within hours (in a negative way). And have you contemplating things you’ve never dreamed of. Sometimes pills aren’t the answer. You can try lot’s of things first like diet change, meditation, training yourself to think positive.
But I do agree professional help should be sought after

PCP hand those things out like there candy. And they are not experts in the field. They are usually general practitioners.
See a psychiatrist to try and get the proper meds. Most have Black Box Warnings on them. That should make you do some research and think hard before you thing you are just popping some pill. Its not the same as just taken a hyper-tension med.
Psych meds are srs stuff and have srs sides. Its changes ones brain and effects other organs.
IMO avoid unless you are at the end of your rope.

Duloxetine was a total game changer for me dealing with anxiety and depression. Beyond that it compliments my cycles really well, my sex drive is usually off the charts and it kinda reigns that in. I feel more energized and have no trouble getting out of bed and hitting the gym whereas before I would skip gym days just to lay around in bed for an extra couple hours. I personally have not had any negative interactions with test, eq, tren, deca, anadrol, dbol, or var.

There are better ways to deal with depression than Syria's
Fuck SSRI's
Fuck zoloft

Right

Only thing i would say is that if someone already takes zoloft etc and goes on tren, they could bump that dose up during.
Thats what i do now but ive also been on meds since a teenager and i know my reactions etc.
For me it helps.
In saying that ive only done it once ( up my zoloft dose on tren).
Def stopped the severity of my overthinking.

Alot of dudes get - obsessive compulsive retroactive jealousy thinking especially with their lovers.

I found that upping the zoloft a tad cuts the head right off it.

Zalewski's picture

I’m like you as in I’ve been on Zoloft since I was a teen, but weirdly I never needed to up it with Tren, my dose seemed to more the same. That being said I’ve started to not like Tren due to all the other reasons

giardap's picture

It's good you know how you react, that's something that comes only with time and exp.

Cant remember if I ran tren on zoloft. But I was upping the dose every few months over 3 years. Never worked for me, only sides, made the black dog verrrrry dangerous in the end. No ssris worked.

The retro jealously is possibly linked to borderline
Borderline is horrific.
It eventually makes tren runs a disaster

I miss tren!

TheFlash85's picture

Tren affect serotonin.
Decreases it and makes a chemical imbalance.
Zoloft counteracts it.
Do i recommend people use it as a supplemment to use whilst on tren? Fuck no because if it causes you that much greif dont fk with it.

Bill1976's picture

So when you come off tren do you feel like shit mentally? Like coming off extacy or withdrawal.

Not a good idea!

If it's ONLY during the cycle it's probably due to the hormonal imbalance and anti-depressants are not answer. Besides they take two to three week to start to work in general.
I'd suggest to abort the cycle and have some bloodwork done. Especially E2 and Prolactine.

Based on my own experience I'd say don't play with it without a doctor's follow up, seriously!

Like a couple posts down...while i am NOT a paranoid schizophrenic, i do find that test does decrease my anxiety, perhaps i have had lower than average test for a while now? used to get trt from a doc, but he went down, so iv been self prescribing and i'm soaring the ranks at work.

Squirrel's picture

want to upvote this, better methods first before drugs(besides aas of course)

Vitamin D helps you make serotonin which does affect mood.

Get bloods if your suffering from depression you’ll see he’s telling the truth.

I've been on SSRIs and antipsychotics all my life. I never knew what true relief from my depression and irritability felt like until I got on testosterone replacement therapy. Heck, I say try gear before you try antidepressants. I take Zoloft as well at 100mg/day and I've mixed deca, dhb, and hgh into the mix without any problems. I was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia at age 19 and I find that gear actually has a calming effect on my anxiety due to the increase in confidence. Mental illnesses take a huge toll on one's self-esteem and steroids really help with that. However, this is my own personal experience and everone reacts differently.

Squirrel's picture

Please never try Fast acting tren hehe

mommas boy's picture

I have mixed zoloft and test, and i think they have a synergistic effect on mood. I cant tell you if its safe or not, my trt doctor was aware of the zoloft and didnt really give it a thought. Before i was on zoloft i had a tendency to snap at people and be an asshole. The zoloft helpef that somewhat, but when i went on trt i really calmed down, i even smiled a few times

I am on 350 mgs of welbutrin.50 mgs of trazadone for sleep issues and 40 mgs of lexapro. Being on cycle while taking my medication has no affect on me. It makes me feel even better. My depression is major. I explain it to people like this...for those who have watched the showtimes series dexter..know the major trauma at a very young age. Mine too..was engrained and has taken a long time to deal with. Lots of therapy and later steroids. They have helped alot. I would say my body is at homeostasis while on cycle. Everything is well balanced.

Dickkhead's picture

Bro, if you are using a SSRI like Zoloft to combat the psycho active character of some steroid compounds all I would say is absolutely not. I have not seen much in the way of any credible writing on serotonin suppression from AAS. Zoloft is used to treat a native deficiency in serotonin production in the brain which is what your doctor is diagnosing here, not combat your feelings of depression when using certain PEDs.

Sort your metal health issues out before you cycle again in my honest opinion. It's wreckless doing otherwise.

Can't believe no one else has stated this.

TimberDog's picture

I second this.
They say you can't address and process underlying issues when you're masking the underlying feelings with alcohol or drugs. Based on my experience, I'd say the same could be true for AASs.
Prolly not the answer you're looking for, but for all we know, the AASs could be a crutch.

coolcat's picture

i dont think he said he had mental health issues we all get down from time to time at least i do i guess thats life but we all have to learn to take the rough with the smooth and carry on and try looking on the bright side when push comes to shove we dont really have any other option bro

kodiakGRRL's picture

If you are taking and or prescribed anti depressants it would be safe to say "mental health issuse."

coolcat's picture

ok im not here to fall out with people everyone has mental health issues in one way or another though it just depends on what people see as normal i guess as in the general public i have my moments of issues which could be classed as mental health problems if i rage or do something out of the ordinary but that is just the way we are as people no disrespect to you i think its just so many people wanna be a shrink and put it down to one issue which is never the case

GrowMore's picture

People see mental health as a dirty word but it most certainly is not and depression falls under mental health.

If he's having to take an antidepressant and states he can get worse depending on the cycle the obvious answer is lay off the gear.. which there is no denying can effect your metal well being, both positive and negative.

Start trying to address the areas in your life which you're not happy with and do what you can to improve them. Best of luck it'll be a tough road and one you'll most lightly have to travel alone.

coolcat's picture

thats pretty accurate but depression doesnt mean your mentally ill as such its just a brief state of mind for some. you can feel down and not be depressed and wake up the next day with a better mind set sure if you are feeling suicidal then go see a doc and gear is definitely a no go
