+ 2 Awesome Supplement Similar to Resveratrol
I've recently added Pterostilbene to my daily supplements, which is closely related to resveratrol. They're both polyphenol antioxidants found in blueberries and grapes. They have similar benefits but pterostilbene has much better bioavailability compared to resveratrol, with pterostilbene having about 80% bioavailability and resveratrol about 20%. Plus, Pterostilbene has a longer half-life. They do have a synergistic effect when taken together. Pterostilbene is known for having a potent anti-aging effect, among many other benefits such as;
-Slowing the aging process; where evidence suggests it may increase the life span.
-Another awesome benefit which is especially important to guys who use gear, is it's ability to increase levels of glutathione.
-It's also anti-carcinogenic, and several studies have shown it's ability to prevent and inhibit the development of a tumor.
-It's been shown to have neuroprotective benefits by boosting brain health and even preventing Alzheimer's disease.
-Pterostilbene may reduce your risk of heart disease and improve your overall cardiovascular health. It may also prevent atherosclerosis by inhibiting the buildup of LDL cholesterol.
-It helps manage diabetes and regulate blood sugar.
So, Pterostilbene has many functions that provide potent protection against developing cardiovascular disease, and can actually reverse cardiovascular disease that has already started to develop. Combining Reveratrol with Pterostilbene may offer the most cardiovascular disease preventing benefits, and anti-aging benefits.
Most studies suggest 25 to 50mg per day to help prevent cardiovascular disease. Reversing cardiovascular disease are said to require higher doses. Pterostilbene seems to be side effect free for the most part and likely safe for most people, but you should still talk with your doctor before using. The recommended daily dose is between 50 and 150mg.

Astazanthin is one of my favorites along with resveratrol.
I eat about 1/2 cup of blueberries a day. But after reading some articles pertaining to pterostilbene, I'm probably not eating enough to get the true benefits. They were also saying its helps lipid health also. It seems very new and apparently hasn't been cleared by the fda as a safe supp, as resveratrol has been. But we all know that doesnt really hold any weight...$FDA$... lol
Alphamale500Eating blueberries is very good for your overall health. Pterostilbene and resveratrol are actually very similar and work synergistically when taken together. Pterostilbene is definitely one of those super-supplements that have many real health benefits.
There are many effective supplements which have not been cleared by the FDA. And The FDA treats supps like foods rather than medications, so like you said, being cleared by the FDA doesn't really make a big difference in the effectiveness of a supplement.
Something very interesting about resveratrol, is a PDE4 inhibitor which is 30,000 times more potent than resveratrol itself has recently been approved by the FDA for treating chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD). And the road was paved for this basically through the investigation of resveratrol.
Resveratrol and Pterostilbene are both very potent antioxidants with many health benefits, including lipid benefits like you mentioned, among so many other. And imo, you can get the most benefit from taking them both together. Stay healthy bro!
I take a ton of antioxidants including resveratol. I have found them to be effective over the years! I take the Grape Seed Extract as well!
Alphamale500Yeah grape seed extract is a very good supp. It's also acts as a natural aromatase inhibitor.
I’ll have to check it out, thanks. I already take the other stuff. I’ve also read that you need oxidative stress for muscle growth, but you read something it says one thing, you read another, it says something else.
Alphamale500It's definitely worth checking out, for all of the amazing health benefits it has.
