Description, concerns and expectations

Time for my summer bulk. If I can hit 225lbs at the end of this bulk then I'll look at nationals and hopefully my pro card for next summer. If I'm not happy with the weight, then another year of bulking. Probably wondering why primo for a bulk?? Well I was impressed with the lean mass that it put on me while in a slight cal deficit (nearly impossible) that I want to see what it can do for lean mass in a cal surplus. It will also be interesting to compare the results of this cycle to my last cycle. Really the only difference here is I'll be swapping out the 1-TC and replacing with primo (well, a few other ones but close enough). Gained 25lbs last cycle (only dropped 5lbs since then) so will be interesting to see what comes from this one.

My diet strategy for this cycle will be cyclic bulking.

My last cycle was a constant cal surplus but given the nature of primo and building lbm while in a deficit, I'll implement the cyclic approach and see if I can actually lose some bodyfat in the process. Guess you might term this a recomp, but let's just stick with calling it a bulk for now. I am hoping that the week i drop cals will reset insulin sensitivity and actually provide for accelerated anabolism/nutrient partitioning during the bulking phase (turbo-charging the bulking phase). I'll be monitoring body composition weekly to keep track of progress and to adjust diet accordingly. This will also let me know when to implement a mini-cut to reset insulin sensitivity.

Going to kick things off with the adrol right away for just the first couple of weeks to get things banging right away then I'll finish the cycle with tbol at the end. A note on the sust: the Dragon pharm sust is basically 300mg of test e/c and 50mg prop. Not true sust blend but I'll make it work. I shouldn't need to use any AI with my test just slightly above trt dose. Provi should help a bit with that also. I just feel better by running my test low and not having to use an ai. Don't really know how to explain it other than my body just feels more crisp and energized without outrageous test levels. Doesn't appear to hamper gains either since for half of my cycle last time I was running zero test and still put on 25lbs. If gains appear to be coming on strong yet, I'll continue the cycle out to 16 wks.

I originally intended this to be a bulk, and then my nephew signed up to do his first show so about a third of the way through the cycle it switched over to a comp prep mode so that we could diet and train together to help give him some motivation. it is nice to have someone to suffer along with you when you are prepping. Ended up pretty good for me. I dropped over 6% bodyfat and bumped my weight up to 212. I was nowhere near stage ready since I wasn't going to take it that far just for shits and giggles for me but it was the biggest and ripped I have ever been. Nothing close to my neph who ended up placing first overall and now has a bunch of sponsorships. He ended up 220 sub 5% at 5'8", Kid is a natural and is now looking at junior nationals.
Then I ended up with lyme's disease which knocked me out for a good long while and now trying to make a comeback. Not as easy anymore the older I get. Probably not going to be able to compete this spring since I lost alot and I need to gain that back and then some. So now shooting for Spring of 2019 to make my run at nationals. My nephew will be schooling me by then. lol

Any chance of you doing a write-up on 1-test? You seem to have the most experience with it going over the logs and there doesn't seem to be a very comprehensive info source on here. It's sort of an underground compound still.

I liked the cycle but I would probably drop the tbol if I was to run it again. I just don't seem to get much out of tbol for some reason. I would add the drol in at the end next time instead. I just seem to keep getting gains from drol the entire cycle if I pulse it. I still would like to run some primo for a bulk yet though. Think I'll just be running some test/deca/drol this winter but I'll have to kick about the idea with some folks around here about adding some primo into that mix maybe. Haven't come across a primo/deca bulk before but maybe there is a reason for that. lol

I like this a lot, bold and primo will go great together. I'm saving for a primo cycle. So far I have 4 vials lol. Need 6 more to run 700mgs ew for 14 weeks. Or more if I wanna go longer. But I'm definitely kicking with tbol also, don't know about adding bold though. Thinking 300mgs test 700-800mgs bold.and of course 50mgs Provi and some gh. Maybe next spring. Kinda sick of wet drugs likd nandrolone and high test. Even with my diet spot on and an ai I get so damn watery. Looks like a fun cycle bro.

Edit, my phone fucks up the format, i like the drol kicker, you could go 3 weeks with it since youre only running it once, gains will stil come during week 3 and 4. im thinking

I really like this plan. It is very similar to what I have been planning for when I next cycle - which could be a while out still. I won't use any orals and will run my test a bit higher at 250mg per week but apart from that it's basically the same other than I will run for 16 weeks.

I completely agree with you in that the IGF-1 LR3 is a game changer. I was recently experimenting with the DES with low calories and I felt it helped with muscle retention and fullness in a calorie deficit but the hypo sides were terrible. I can wait to run the LR3 again after th success I had on my previous bulk. It's really seems to be mass that you can hold onto easily.

I am thinking about picking up a kit of DES with my next order just to see if I can tell a difference compared to the LR3. I was actually thinking of pinning it post workout. That way all the receptors are ready to soak it up and put it to use. I kind of think that by pinning it pre it will be in and out to quick before all the receptors are ready to use. Something to try might be LR3 pre and DES post.

Aha yes you and I are definely thinking similarly. I have some DES left over so when I do run I will run the LR3 for 6 weeks at 50mcg on workout days. Take a 4 weeks break and then run LR3 for the last 6 weeks (16 week cycle) pre workout same dose and a smaller dose of DES 15mcg each side post workout.

Another thing I am interested in your macros on this cycle. I will probably run protein at around 400g per day, fats at no more than 80g and the rest carbs mainly around workouts. Then when I run my 2 weeks low calories I'll drop the carbs right back and trim a bit of the fats. I've worked out for me given my age my metabolism is pretty slow so I don't need to run calories too high to see solid growth.

Maintenance for me is around 3500 cals. I keep my protein pretty consistent at around 300-325. My fats stay pretty consistent around 100-125 also. I just manipulate the carbs for bulk/cut. Bulking I'll bump them up to 450-500 and for cutting I'll drop them down to 200 or so. It is getting harder to eat more the bigger I get.

it just amazes me why some you of you guys dont taper down towards the end of your cycle?.. I mean sus has some long esters. I'm guessing you cruise with test if not ill recommend a taper near the end. what about pct? dont wanna seem like a know it all just want to know your point of view.

I'm on trt. If I wasn't I would drop the sust at least a few weeks out and finish with test p taper.

Yeah, it went way above my expectations. Figured I might as well keep on bulking. I'll make a decision this winter if I am going to make a run for the pro card or keep putting on weight for another year or so. My buddy who is 5'8" is doing his first show in a few weeks and is looking like he'll come in at around 215 stage weight. I would love to be there but I think I could beat him if I came in at 205-210 stage weight. So that is my goal. If I put on another 25 with this cycle, I think Ill be there. If this weight comes easy this cycle I might just keep on going to see what my actual limit would be and then start showing it. Time will tell.

Yes, it is 50mcg/d. I have tried it both pre and post. I actually like taking it pre. It is systemic so I like getting it into my body so it is there and ready to go while I am working out and afterwards. I also like the pumps from it. If I was going to do DES, I think I would do that post workout since it is so short acting and it only makes sense to pin after your workout when all the satellites are ready to soak it up and put it to work before it is all metabolized..
