+ 29 Don't give a Fuck.

ad

I feel cheated because I had written this reply to some 18 year old who pulled his post before I could post mine. So, because I still have a few fucks to care about. Here's a Fuck to all you kids out there... and to all you 20, 30, 40, 50 year olds. Basically anyone younger than dirt.

So here’s a message for you @stickyburner you'll be banned soon. And the rest of you? Fuck off. Just fuck the fuck off.

‐-------------------

Even if, (big if), you became a bodybuilding god you still wouldn't reach your goal. You'll just be a nerdish looser but with muscles. And you'll still feel like an outsider, a poser.

You can't work on your outside and think that will fix the inside. You will never feel seen. You will not be truly content and happy if you're always trying to fill a hole that can't be filled with the trappings of external things and relationships

You need to have the confidence and courage to be who you are. Self love and acceptance. That is what makes you attractive. That is what makes you seen.

Believe it or not, we all are living a pretentious life .(the act of pretending) We pretend we are better than we are. More secure than we are. More sure of ourselves than we are. More skilled than we are. We pretend with adult fear. That's the pretentious reality we all live in.

The kids around you are just better pretenders.

You're young. This is the time to learn how not to give a fuck. If you walk into adulthood giving a fuck life has a way of knocking that fuck right out of you.

Life has kicked the fuck out of me several times over the years. Each time I still managed to get back on my feet. Each time I had less fucks to give. Now, at 65 and near the end of my trail my saddle bags are empty of fucks to give. I am much happier now and at peace. Not much can ruffle my calm now.

Sure I still have a few fucks in my pockets and I'm giving you one now.

So take it from an old hand who has bit the dust more than a few times: don’t wait until the end of your trail to empty those saddlebags. Strap on your own boots, stand tall in who you are, and ride into adulthood completely unburdened by what the herd thinks. Real strength isn't built in a gym or drawn from a vial—it is knowing who you are and simply not giving a fuck.

People who are obsessed with their bodies can also be compared to lovers of piercings and tattoos) I think what’s more important is what you are like on the inside.

Thank you Greg. You should seriously consider writing a book if you haven’t already. I love your writing

Thanks for the post you old bastard. You're right though, I know a lot of us base our whole identity around things that don't really matter at the end of the day.

Wouldn’t being secure in who you are and knowing who you are and not giving a fuck about what others think be contradictory to the claim that we are all living pretentious lives?

Wouldn’t the acceptance of one’s self be an atonement that would free anyone from the need to pretend to be anything other than what they actually are?

Don’t get me wrong I like the wisdom but as someone who knows and accepts who and what I am I don’t feel the need to pretend to be anything I’m not so I would have to disagree with the premise that “we are all living pretentious lives.”

That last sentence, however….I have to agree with 100%. Very well said.

Aren't you just paraphrasing me?

"as someone who knows and accepts who and what I am I don’t feel the need to pretend to be anything I’m not."

That's a pretty pretentious comment right there.

Pretense is just the wardrobe of personality. I’m fully aware I'm riding this trail in a cowboy hat and boots, and I'm having a hell of a lot of fun doing it. The goal isn't to be some Miyagi Dojo master who thinks he's completely above the theater; it's just learning to laugh at the ridiculousness of the costume we're wearing, keep your saddlebags empty of fucks and simply don't give a fuck.

Respect Greg!

I was just talking with my girl about this... Life will humble you. Its good for us. Its good for Me! Let me speak for myself.

As humble as I can attempt to be, I can never shake my ego. Its always there.
Ive got 2 modes. I walk around in a state of Gratidue or a state of resentment. Im either...grateful for everything I have, This Life, or resenting all the things I dont have, resenting things that have happened to me. Its one or the other, and its MY choice, which state I want to be in.
Your post made me think of my first cycle, how cocky it made me. Im not someone who tries to get attention in real life. Im definitely more outgoing/social on here.
I feel bad for kids growing up in this era. The pressure to look good and fit in is greater than ever with social media. The way young people have casually accepted using needles at such a young age bc of peptides is very concerning.
I have concern for our country/society but I see ALOT of young Men in their teens/20s that have an impressive understanding of Life/The world. The internet has really educated alot of young people. This may be the first generation that knows more about the world than their grandparents and has accumulated more wealth than their elders. There are some insanely successful young people these days. If youre a young person worried about the state of the world/economy... if you can forget all that bs and focus on your goals, youre gonna blow everybody else out of the water. There are so many lazy people with mental health issues preventing them from working hard. If youve got any work ethic and any disciplin, youre gonna blow your competition out of the water.
Alot of people shit on Gen Z and... what is It gen alpha? Ive got hope. I see some really hungry savage Patriots amongst the crop.
If I would do one thing different in my life, it would have been sticking with kickboxing or some type of martial art. Getting the shit kicked out of me on a regular basis and running ever day was probbaly the best routine I ever ran, in my life.

Didnt mean to jack the post. Im babbling. Wanted to add to it. I felt that.

Real strength isn’t built in a gym or drawn from a vial—it is knowing who you are and simply not giving a fuck.

That one hit differently.

I think that’s something only time can really teach. We all chase the outside first. Then life has a way of showing us the hardest thing to build was what’s inside.

Props on the wisdom, @Greg.

Eroids always makes me laugh. Because it’s the first time I’ve used social media and actually felt connected to people. Get more off this site than I ever have through social media. Great post.

Yeah... I don't really believe you. You asked me multiple times to point you to the rule specifically stating the age rule..... as you put your birthday on a date that made you 25.... and then tell us your 18... while saying you didn't know it was a rule.
