Getting the amount of gear dialed in during a bulk
For those who’ve run multiple bulk phases, how do you think about total weekly mg relative to food and training?
If someone has calories, protein, and training intensity fully locked in, is staying around ~500 mg/week total (e.g. Testosterone + another compound) limiting progress?
Or does the diminishing returns curve still apply regardless:
• Big response up to ~500 mg
• Slower returns beyond that
• Increasing side effects at higher totals
At what point does increasing total mg actually translate into noticeably better growth during a bulk? I am doing a bulk with a friend and he is pushing 1200 a week and making great progress. I would say that I am making progress, but not at his pace.
I was listening to a podcast with Todd Lee and John Jewett where they referenced Broderick Chavez and mentioned a guideline of around 15–20 mg per pound for PED dosing. I’m assuming this would mainly apply to higher-level or professional bodybuilders, not the average lifter. Curious how people here interpret that—does that seem like a “top-end” framework, or something more broadly applicable?
(I also realize that this subject might have been beat to death over the years).

If everything is "dialed in" on a "bulk" & you can't get bigger....
1) Eat more
2) Eat more
3) Stop training like a total Wuss.

If you can’t look impressive with Test only 500-750mg (Gh and reta great additions too) that means your training isn’t dialed in and your diet sucks. Just the facts.
Wait what? LOL 20mg per pound.. so a 250lb man needs 5,000mg?
I’ve seen people lock in with everything and their 600-700mg test a week is plenty. Then I’ve seen guys last 1.5g a week and look awful.
You really don’t have to push drugs until you’re at a point you’re on stage for a pro card. Tbh.
99.9999999999% of us on Eroids could be just fine on 750mg test, and GH. But it’s more fun to talk more drugs. You could run 500mg test, and 4IU GH over and over and make great progress.
Even then, they didn’t necessarily run as much as people think to get there. They’re pushing it to get that even 1% edge to get their pro card/win. I’ve seen people on legit gear run everything stupid high and look like complete fucking shit lol. Legit 3-4 times the amount I ever ran.
Yep - I think the philosophy is to ramp up the test and add a lot or primo or masteron (and now DHB) because they are more mild. I think Jewett mentioned he was around 3500mg getting ready for a competition.
