Injection sites for 29g 1/2 inch

I feel like im doing something wrong, almost every time i try to aim for ventrogluteal i end up with a somewhat painful bump, no PIP, but it is irritated and hurts to touch, if i put it more toward the center of my back, no pain, lower down in the dorso, also no pain, no bump either, just a kinda marble sized deposit that isnt visible and has no feeling at all. Same needles so presumably same depth, i want to use that spot so i can rotate more but i cant figure out how im messing it up. Injection angle? Do i need a 27g 5/8 for that spot in particular? Anyone elss dealt with the same? Input is much appreciated

@Pandateston just gave you a great write up. Look, after all these years, and to be fair the years before, I was never a competitive bodybuilder, I do this shit for general health and vanity. Both glutes and both delts should be all you need. You’re trying to get in shape in look good? Or basic TRT? Or maybe a little more? You don’t need 27 injection sites to pump 4ml of oil a week into. If you’re basically at 2ml a week, just rotate buttcheeks, you’ll be fine. Your ass can handle 2ml every other week, just don’t poke the exact same spot. And personally I go deep, 1.5” for glutes and 1” for delts. I will do small injections with a S pin but that’s usually for masteron for e2. I’m not being hard on you bro, enjoy what you’re doing, but at the same time don’t make it too complicated. Your body will be fine.
jitterbug128Yeah i just movin around switching asscheeks, i dont plan on staying with .2cc daily though, so trying to get as many good sites as i can before using more. Probably gonna give delts a try at some point as well, everyones input was great, i have some 27g 5/8 on the way, likely for when im using more oil- but i was also able to take all the advice and managed a non irritating vg shot last night

Brother, you’re not crazy … this is pretty common with VG.
A 29g 1/2” can work, but it’s very spot- and body-fat-dependent. If you’re a bit off angle or not deep enough, you end up depositing oil too shallow, which causes those irritated bumps even without true PIP.
Couple key points from my experience (I pin daily … currently 1.5cc using 25g/27g 1” because of the volume. Rotating ~14 different spots lol. If anyone’s curious, I can list them later):
Deeper into the muscle = less irritation and fewer lumps
VG usually does better with 27g 5/8” (or even better 1”) if you’re pushing any real volume
29g is fine for shallow muscles and low volume, but it’s easier to miss depth in VG
Angle matters … straight in, relaxed muscle, don’t pin twisted
If you’re getting zero issues in other spots with the same gear and needle, that tells you it’s not the oil … it’s depth or placement.
Basically, we need to match the needle to the site and the volume, not just comfort. If a spot keeps giving you trouble, adjust needle size or rotate it out. Pain is feedback … better to listen to it.

Big, I keep it pretty simple and rotate aggressively.
My main sites are…
Delts — front, side, rear (both sides)
Triceps — usually 2 heads per side
Traps — both sides
Ventroglutes – both sides (one of my favorites)
Glutes – both sides, but I limit them now
Vastus lateralis (outer quads) – both sides
I don’t really mess with biceps or calves. I know some guys swear by them, but I’ve heard enough horror stories to keep those as “maybe one day” sites LMAO
Big lesson learned the hard way: rotation is everything. Glutes can handle volume and take forever to saturate, but if you abuse them long enough, scar tissue catches up. I definitely overused mine back in the day, and now they’re picky as hell with oil. Ventroglutes and delts treat me way better at this point.
Doesn’t matter if you pin daily or EOD …rotate like your recovery depends on it (because it does). Less inflammation, less scar tissue, smoother injections long term.
That’s what’s worked best for me.
Try the lats, i use 3 different areas on bith sides
Yep, good call brother … appreciate the reminder. I actually forgot to mention I’ve been using lats too. Solid spot, easy pin and they handle oil volume really well.
Only thing for me is stability… if I don’t brace against the wall I shake like a blender trying to hit them lol One side’s definitely easier than the other, so I’m working on mobility to clean that up. But yeah, lats are money once you get comfortable with them.

I've personally only done glute, ventro glute, and delts, but i was thinking about opening up some other locations, as I plan to do everyday shots in my next cycles to reduce the volume per injection. I was looking into long head of the triceps, lateral thigh, or quads.
Let me know how the triceps feel. I get a 50/50 rating on it. Lol
I do SubQ for triceps and it doesn’t hurt (5/16), never tried (1/2) pin in triceps.
Well said. I dropped the 29g and went 25g. Plus im pushing 1 to 1.3 of oil a hit. 25g 1in ftw.
Idk I use a half inch and have almost zero pip there. Even 1 cc of l-carnatine which can be spicy. I sit down and basically the slab that kinda sticks out on the side/top, right next to the hip flexors is no problem.

Ranger3252Your issue is the length. .5” is silly, especially in a large muscle like the glute/vent. 1” minimum for all areas really. The deeper you get into the muscle the less pain you will have. Unless you have less than 8% BF you should always use 1” or more, or if you’re doing subQ then it’s a different matter.

25g 1" ass cheek all day. Warm up oil and blast. Simple.
Minimum 1" for that. If a bigger guy up to 1.5". That should help.
Are you pinning straight in? 1/2" is pretty short unless you're leaned out. Have you tried pushing it harder to make sure you're getting past the subq layer?
I will pin my VG with 29 1/2 and not have an issue.
How are you landmarking?
If you standup and squeeze your butt together, a triangular spot should show just below your hip bone.
That triangle is the VG.
I’ve used 1/2 and 5/16 without an issue. Completely painless.

It’s pretty high up. Lower down and slightly back for a glute pin.
No issues with a 27g 1/2” in the VG. I’ll use a 1” if pinning more than 1ml. I find the crest of my hip bone and pin 2-3” (average length of an erect penis) below that.
Same thing happens to me. Tbh, I have noticed that area the needle needs to be a little longer. When I do half in, it doesnt go into the muscle, just like hangs there. For my ass, I do a 1 in but the wife helps because I like to move the needle around a bit. So basically, I stay under 1ml in that area because I am a bitch and hate pinning with 1 in needles. I just get shaky.
Everywere else I use 27g , .5 in.

How much oil are you pushing? I keep it under 1 ml. I mean try it and see what happens. I literally pinned those areas 3 days ago and same thing. No pain injecting it but the next day its sore to the touch for like 2/3 days. Then goes away. Every were else I am good.

I've never pinned the ventro glute, but I believe you need a 1" at least (body fat dependant) to get in there deep enough.
I pin quads with a 25ga 1" or delts with 25ga 5/8".

You hit it on the head with body fat dependent. Delts, lats, and vg I’ll use a 1/2” with 1ml or less. Anything over 1ml I use 1” and it’s going in my ass, quads, or vg.

I agree with this. I’ve been doing subq for about a year now as an experiment, just switched back to IM. All IM have been with 27g 13mm(1/2”) I’m pretty lean so quads and delts are fine with 13mm. For VG I think 1” would the minimum especially if you’re getting lumps/marbles. Any reason you like VG? I found it to be pretty good for large volume but I don’t do large volumes anymore so I avoid it. I have enough rotation with the legs and shoulders
